likes:
-the pure one coven - her witch coven helps this vampire group
-partying - she’s a party girl and loves dancing, singing, and everything that goes along with it
-power - for obvious reasons, power is a big deal to Carmella
-her accent - who doesn’t love a sexy Colombian accent?
-attractive people - not limited to just men. Carmella is an admirer of men and women
-attention - it’s not that she thrives on it, it’s just nice to be appreciated now and then
-vampires - though she admits she was a bit let down when she realized they weren’t like Dracula
-danger - call it adrenaline, she likes getting herself into sticky situations
-maturity - she’s over five hundred years old, she’s not a baby
-animals - well they are cute
dislikes:
-her appearance - she’s a bit modest and doesn’t think she’s all that attractive, though she doesn’t think she’s hideous either
-the Wynter coven - obvious reasons
-when people don’t pay attention
-when people aren’t loyal to her
-loss of power
-humans - she just doesn’t have respect for them. That’s not to say she hasn’t slept with a few
-nicknames - she allowed very few people give her nicknames. It’s Carmella, or you lose your head
-being talked down to - it goes back to the lack of power thing
-feeling vulnerable
-being insulted
ambitions:
-let someone care about her - she’s really shielded and hasn’t allowed herself to fall in love.
abilities:
-getting people to do what she wants - she’s the leader, so yeah, people do what she says
-speaks several different languages
-intelligence, awareness
-practiced in Chi
-energy transfer - used for healing - she developed this after learning about. The idea of transferring Energy is a major idea in the Chi lifestyle and Carmella has a talent for it. Energy transfer is the idea that everything has an energy and it can be transferred to anything/one else. This can be to and from nature or a person, but is usually a person. In small doses, this does not affect Carmella at all and the affect always depends on what kind of energy is being transferred. For example, if she is transferring bad energy from herself out then she will feel stronger, the same as if she is transferring good energy in. But in the case of healing others, she often has to take in their bad energy, in which case she can become ill for a short period of time.
-spell-weaving
weakness:
-attractive people
-a bit moody
-compliments - feels awkward when given them
-mortality - she sees it as a weakness because she is more easily damaged than those in the pure ones coven
-physically weak
secrets:
-she’s never been in love
-she’s afraid to be in love
-she’s afraid of losing control
personality:Power-hungry:
Carmella likes power. She’s addicted to the feel of it. Lucky for her, she is practically always bathing in it since she’s the leader of a witch coven. She’s a powerful witch as well, able to use energy transfer as a form of healing herself and others and a practitioner of Chi. What she really hates is loss of power, which is why she hates feeling vulnerable. It feels like the ultimate loss of power. She’s also physically weak, which she doesn’t like to broadcast because it is like another lack of power issue for her.
Sweet:
She’s a leader, but she’s not all work, and she doesn’t hate the people in her coven. She can be really nice when she wants to be, and if people respect her she’ll have more respect for them. As long as you’re not human, she doesn’t have much of a problem with you. Carmella is capable of being a good girl and she honestly think she’s doing what is best for her coven. She knows she makes mistakes but she also truly believes in the Pure Ones cause, which is why their coven supports the vampires.
Party girl:
Carmella loves to have a good time. She’ll do almost anything to have fun. She does her work and everything, but at the end of the day, she likes to have a little fun. She’s really into dancing and singing and she likes to go out with people. She’s a really social person and has a hard time saying no to a chance of going out.

history:
In 1424 Carmella Elisa Mayra Lazarus was born in a very different Colombia than people know today. At this time she had only the name “Carmella Elisa Mayra,” the last name being added years later. Her family belonged to the Muisca people, who had developed one of the most complicated political systems. Not too many years (for a witch anyway) after Carmella was born, the Spanish invaded and started setting up colonies, though none of them were permanent until about a century later. She remembered being confused and curious about the Spanish invaders. With the Spanish invaders came changes. The Spanish attempted to make the native people what they called more “civilized.” Along with civilization came new diseases and horrors. Several of the natives were raped and killed when things didn’t suite the Spanish.
It was because of this that Carmella’s family boarded a Spanish ship. The Spanish intended to show off their findings, Carmella’s family planned to escape. Carmella still appeared to be a young woman at this point in her early to mid teens, though she was over one hundred years old. The year was 1600 and Carmella’s family had arrived during the Great Plague. Several hundreds of thousands of people were killed during this time. Carmella’s family was forgotten when the Spanish arrived back to their homeland to find that it was being destroyed by disease and the Colombian parents took off with their daughter.
The family traveled mostly on foot through what is now France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria to get to what is now known as Greece. It took several years to get there and by that time it was known as the Ottoman Empire. The family stayed here for several hundreds of years, eventually converting to Christianity in order to stay within good terms with the Ottoman rulers. Eventually the family became well known enough that they were seen as important figures in society. Carmella didn’t seem to age and people became suspicious. Her family made people believe she was gifted by God. The family already knew what they were though they did not have a word for it. They were given one: μάγισσα (pronounced mágissa). This person was thought to be an sorceress who would take over. As such, Carmella became a good, good friend of the rulers.
But soon she wanted to return to Colombia, thinking it was her duty to set things in her home country right. With her powers as a healer, she could possibly do some good. She promised to return and that the Ottoman Empire had her good wishes. She was given horses and provisions and assured that she was always welcome. Carmella set off with her mother and father, retracing their steps and planning on getting on a ship in Portugal.
They were stopped in Italy, however. Her mother and father were taken by vampires into Volterra and were never seen again. She heard the rumors of red-eyed beasts, which was surprising since civilization had matured since she had been here first. She traced the rumors to the myth of the vampire and found confirmation from a cold red-eyed man who told her he was not of the Volturi clan. Being told that there was nothing she could do, she sent word to the Ottoman Empire that she would return sooner than planned, but with several of her people. From Portugal she got on a boat and traveled to her home country.
When she got to Colombia, still enraged from the death of her parents, she was not surprised by the maturity of her home. The Spanish had done some damage to her little land and this angered her more, though she herself had been civilized. It was back in Colombia that Carmella went back to the belief in multiple deities despite the fact that the main religion had moved to be affiliated with the Roman-Catholic Church. Carmella didn’t stay long except to learn the language which she picked up fairly quickly, having dealt with the Spanish before. They gave her a new name: bruja (broo-hah). Some of them followed her but not near as many as she had hoped.
In 1724 she arrived back to the Ottoman Empire with her new views and a need to improve the place that thought so highly of her and a new name: Carmella Elisa Marya Lazarus. She started her Witch Coven but soon after Greece isolated itself from the Ottoman Empire. Because the Ottomans were a group that believed in One God, Carmella and the Lazarus coven sided with Greece.
Her witch coven was involved in the Greco-Turkish war and WWI, where Greece invaded Italy. Carmella used this as a way to get to the Volturi, though she was unsuccessful. Later she was involved in the Greek Civil War. With her powers she helped people recover from the war, but still kept her sights on Italy. Years later she met the Pure Ones Coven, a group of vampires that wanted to take out the Volturi. Carmella jumped at the chance to help in whatever way she could. Afterward, she had her coven remain close allies of the vampire coven, though she often returns to Colombia to visit.
