Okay, so Jake's words cut her, like... something that could cut vampire flesh. Wolf or vampire teeth maybe. It was like he'd literally ripped a part of her body off. She caught herself looking at her extremities to make sure they were still there. And she wasn't burning, so it was all in her head then. How could he say that she didn't understand? She of all people! She was supposed to be his best friend. And hadn't she been through something similar? So it wasn't like imprints or anything, but she'd loved two people. Which was why when the next words flew out of his mouth, even though she knew that it was probably in part due to Renesmee's outburst, made her want to double over and cry if she was still able. Instead, she watched her daughter fly from the room and Bree have her own little overreaction. Before she was going to tell Rosalie to just back off the shifters, but it looked as though that had opened up a sort of gateway for a bunch of slander.
God, she just wished Bree would shut up about it. Jacob wasn't arguing with Renesmee, he was venting about all that the vampires, Bella included, had done to him. Bella realized before that they'd caused him a world of pain. She had caused him a world of pain. And Bree just kept talking. Bella thought she was going to fall over from it all. Why were they all even here? Bella knew the answer before she'd asked it of herself. The other Cullens were here because this was their house too and it was no use to go to another room, it would be only too easy to eavesdrop. Bella could barely get out what she wanted to stay. “Stop it, Bree,” came out in a whisper but she glared at the vampire and then looked at Jasper, hoping he could get the apology she sent him with her emotions, hoping he'd know that she didn't need Bree making this worse for them all. One wrong word would set everyone off and Bella wasn't about to break a stupid treaty and have to leave Charlie here behind. Not now that they'd worked out how to let him in on their life, if even just slightly.
Her eyes found Jake's and while they weren't exactly a glare anymore, they weren't exactly soft either. She hoped that wherever Renesmee had gone, she was able to hear her words now, because her daughter needed to know what had happened between her mother and Jacob. It might be a little early. Despite what everyone was saying, Renesmee was still a three-year-old girl. She might be able to speak and with the way they were all throwing books at her, she was a smart three-year-old, she was still a kid. Jake was beginning to leave and Bella decided she was going to have to act fast.
“You're right, Jake.” She forced herself to use the nickname, only because she refused to believe that this was the end of their friendship, even if it should have been. They might need to take a really long break, but she didn't want Jacob out of her life for good. Another selfish desire, she realized. Maybe, if this was the end she should just let it be. But she'd at least try to make it right. Besides, she wasn't completely angry about this. Part of her was thoroughly pissed that Jacob hurt Renesmee, but part of her was incredibly relieved that her daughter would now have some sort of choice. Not only that, but it had felt like everyone had taken her daughter away from her before she could even be the mom, but it was sort of like Jacob was giving her back.
Bella sighed, though she didn't need air to live she did find it relaxing. “I hurt you, really bad. I knew how you felt about me and I just kept coming back.” She ran her hands through her hair. “Right up until I was turned, and in a way, even after that. And I knew it was hurting you, at least when I was human.” She couldn't keep her voice from cracking throughout her little confession. But now her eyes hardened, maybe even darkened a little. “And if you're with Leah, then go, be with her. But stick to your word and don't come around her.”

Once the human girl walked into the room and announced what Jacob was about to, Jasper’s mind felt everyone’s individual anger, and it made him unsure of whom he was going to have to stop from killing the idiotic mutt. Fortunately, the only act of aggression was Nessie throwing a bracelet at Jacob, which seemed like a reasonable reaction to what had just been announced so abruptly. Things just got worse from there with Jacob beginning to say things that he should have known better than to say or think while in a room full of people who could literally rip him into pieces.
“There is no need for such malicious words, Jacob, and as you are a guest in this home you would be wise to keep your emotions in check or I’ll do it for you.” Of course, Jasper was already trying to calm the room down as bet as he could, but it wasn’t easy when he had thoughts to take of the dog’s head. Alas, no good would come from such a situation where a fight broke out in a room full of the super powered, but then again there was no good coming out of the situation now.
If he were a normal person, then Jasper would have reacted normally by punching Jacob in the face, but he had a talent for keeping his mind outside of the situation so that he could see it from all angles. The last remark of Jacob was to get a rise out of Edward, and that was something that Jasper wasn’t going to allow in any situation. He moved over to Edward in an instant so that what he needed to say could be said without any interference. “Take Bella and go find Nessie. Her well-being is more important than trying to break the dog’s neck.”
Unfortunately, Jasper’s need for telepathy came up again in his own thoughts as his daughter blew up at the dog, which was understandable but it was also something that they didn’t need right now. He even understood Bella’s need to tell Bree to stop it as it was something that he was about to do in order to control the situation. Jasper moved across the floor to where Bree stood, so that he could address her directly. “I think that you should go to your room until the wolves leave, and stay there until I come and talk to you.” He didn’t look to see if she went or not because more than likely she would listen to his words.
Now his mind turned back to the matter at hand, which was the leaving mutt that had Bella agreeing with him, but it didn’t matter what Bella said because now the situation was very clear. Jacob would not be coming around the house anymore, and the Cullens would not be hanging around with mutts as much. “Bella is right, Jacob. You really should go before the situation becomes worse than it already is.”
