Caroline trailed her fingers along the back of the books, feeling the different textures, looking for an exciting title. They smelled of dust, even though the section she was looking at wasn’t all that old. Books were such pretty things, and she had loads of them at home, on shelves, showing off their beauty. She also felt smart when people saw them and asked if she’d read them all. The thing about books, Caroline thought, is that if well written, they’re the door to a much more desirable world. Vampires, werewolves, fairies, angels. Fallen angels… Her finger stopped by a book called hush, hush. Oh, she’d read it, all right. But not as many times as she’d read Dracula. She was a sucker for all kinds of no-no love, probably because she didn’t have a love life of her own. Not that she needed anyone. Her gaze shifted to the far wall where a big clock was ticking. It was almost closing time. She hurriedly picked out the books she wanted; two fantasy novels and a book called ‘stop smoking’ for her mother. She was thinking about, discreetly, leaving it out on the coffee table for her mom to see when she got home. Outside the air was cool, but it was and surprisingly sunny day and her pale skin bathed in light. She wore a grey skirt with a loose-fitted off-white t-shirt tucked in it and red flats for a pop of color. She loved days like this when she could wear light clothing and eat ice-cream without getting cold. she threw her bag over her shoulder and hurried for her car across the street. It didn’t even cross her mind to look for upcoming cars, but realized she should have when she heard the screeching of tires.

For a guy he didn't look like he read books. He was dressed up for someone working at an office but he was just himself. So the best thing to relax was a library parking lot. He raced from the crowded highway to the silent entrance of Forks. He felt like he has been dragged back to Forks all the time so he just came back but visited different places. His car was black , shining black and without a scratch. He had an open roof and when he noticed a cute girl crossing over.
SHIT! He hit the brakes quickly and stopped right in front of her. He got out of his car and ran her way, nonhuman speed. He looked at her and he looked a bit worried. The vampire never like to kill someone with his car, or when he had no reason for it. He did respect humans. '' Are you alright? '' he said his charming voice worried but still charming. He sometimes hated it. Why being charming when he almost hit someone. He looked at her, she seemed fine.
He studied the girl dressed up like it was a summers day. A smile slid on his face on her outfit. She was wearing a grey skirt and a white shirt with red flats. Pretty cute and for a human she was pale too. '' I'm Richard. '' he said with a smile and looked at her. '' wanna have a ride home? '' he asked her, he couldn't help but stay charming after all. that's just who he is. and that's who he will stay to be. Richard looked at some people wanting to cross over to see if she was alright.
He raised his hand with a smile. '' she's okay, no blood. '' if she had blood he would smell it. Richard looked at the distance between both the car and herself, no little bump either. Glad she's still alive. Richard smiled, the sun didn't touch him for a bit. He was wearing black suit and a white blouse with a black tie. He looked like some official banker but he was just richard. Style and attractive at your service.

Caroline froze where she stood. She couldn’t think or even scream. The car was so fast, the sun gleaming off it’s shiny black surface. She was gonna die, or get seriously hurt, maybe even slip into a coma…! And the car stopped. Just as fast as it had been heading to wards her, it had stopped. The guy who had been driving the murder machine got out of his car and ran to her. She felt like fainting, but willed herself to take steady breaths. She was no sissy. “Are you alright?” the boy asked in a worried, yet charming voice. She couldn’t help but stare at him, mostly because she was a little in shock, but she also couldn’t deny the fact that he was stunningly attractive. “I-Yes. “ she answered a little breathlessly, “I’m OK. Thanks for stopping.” She said awkwardly and smiled. Her face got warm, and she could imagine the flush in her cheeks standing in strong contrast to her skin. He, on the other hand, looked surprisingly calm. She remembered when her mom ran over a bird in the road, and her mom had freaked out, saying something about them going to hell. Caroline had laughed and said that it had been a suicidal bird, and that no one was to blame.
“I’m Richard.” He finally said. Caroline smiled warmly, “I’m Caroline,“ She said her name with a slight Swedish accent, and couldn’t help it. She gave Richard a once over. He was dressed nicely-very nicely for a normal day- in a black suit that looked extremely expensive. He asked her if she wanted a ride home, but she shook her head regretfully and pointed at the gray 2005 BMW model across the street. “I didn’t leave my car at home.” Unfortunately, she added mentally. “But you can take take me for a ride around town if you’d like. You know, I’m scarred for life, I could use some mending.” She said quickly and grinned at him.

this girl was good. She was extremely cute and he could take her out for the day, after all he was a free guy. And he didn't care about money either. He took her hand gracefully picked her up and gestured her to the passenger seat. '' It would be a honor. '' he said with the same charming smile he always used. Not that he could resist to smile, her red cheeks were just adorable, falling in love with a human is still possible, but being in love this quick is just a mystery.
He opened the door for her and stood at the side of the car. Her being polite worked well , he smiled and slid over the hood to his side of the car. '' Let's take you out today, and maybe a nice night out tonight? But before that we need to buy you some nice clothes and jewelry '' he said with a wink and got into the car. He would give her the time of her life, she would feel like a princess today.
He started the engine and grabbed his phone. '' hey, could you drive the 2005 model BMW home? you know where it belongs. '' he said on the phone quickly. His friend james knew the whole area and which car belonged to which home, at the end of the night the car would be home and safe. With the keys on the doormat. Richard looked at her and smiled. '' you can get in if you wish. '' he said with a smile and grabbed some dark brown contacts for his eyes.

This was so strange. She’d just been at the library, acting like books were her only friends, sniffing the dust there and enjoying it, then out of the blue, almost killed, and was now talking to a super handsome guy whom she’d never seen before. She didn’t even know how to talk to boys, and it wasn’t like she got any practice in La Push. All the boys there that were her own age acted too strange and sent that do-not-talk-to-me vibe. They’d never laid eyes on her, and she’d never even been kissed.
She was usually shy, but Richard seemed so open, and it didn’t feel like they’d just met. Regardless, he was still a complete stranger, and everything her mom had told her went against her going with him, so naturally, She couldn’t be gladder to accept his offer. It had been too long since she’d had proper fun. He opened the car door for her . “Why thank you, sir.” She said with pouty lips and an awful British accent, but she didn’t get in, she stood there, looking up at him, trying to figure out his motives. “I sure hope that was a joke, because I dress perfectly fine.” She said to his comment about clothes and jewelry, still smiling, daring him to disagree. She frowned a bit as he picked up the phone to lead a strange conversation with someone, and she deliberately ignored it. When he hung up, he said she could get in, and hopelessly enough, she blushed at the amusement in his voice. when she was all set, she raised her hands to the messy bun on her head, to let her hair down. It fell like a blond wail around her shoulders, making her look, If possible, even more innocent. “so…where to, Richard?” she said his name as if she’d always known him.

Richard had his always charming smile. She talked to him like flirting was her own thing, it didn’t work out much but it was fun to listen to. He smiled and looked at her while she released her hair as a wave on her shoulders. Cute, really cute. ‘’ not at all , since you’re not dressed for a ball at all. ‘’ he winked and drove to the centre. He smiled while driving and looked at her. ‘’ we’re going to a mall, so you can knock yourself out with a dress, some nice shoes and diamonds are a girl’s best friend right? ‘’ he chuckled as he drove his way to the mall. Her smell didn’t even bother him at all, she smelled good, that’s for sure, but not really attractive smell. Was a good thing. It sure was.
The road to the mall wasn’t really short, but they could spend some time in the car. ‘’ need air conditioning? ‘’ he asked and nodded at the buttons. He never bothered the weather much but in a car it could be warm for humans. He looked at her still, not paying any attention to the road, well it looked like it. Her eyes had some blush he liked a lot, as human he had them too. But now he doesn’t even try to create them, he’s not into make – up much. Richard parked at the mall, well it was a mini mall. Only the most rich people bought stuff here, and he owned most of the stores. He got out of the car and opened her door.
He smiled charmingly and reached out for her hand. ‘’ After you miss. ‘’ he said with a smile. First he would drop her off at the beauty salon, then he would go buy himself a suit, and when he gets back and she’s done, he would take her to the diamond specialist. There she can pick out everything she likes and after the jewelry they’ll go after a dress. Or the other way around, depends on what she wants. The time of her life, that’s what he’s trying to achieve.

She shook her head as he asked if she needed air-condition. The temperature was just right. She studied him as he drove. She wanted to ask him a lot of questions, but bit her tongue. She didn’t want to scare him away with her curiosity, which won at last. Just harmless small talk, she decided. “Where’re you from? How old are you?” she asked him. She didn’t ask because she was trying to be polite; she was genuinely curious.
The drive was supposedly long, but the time flew by. She couldn’t quite decide what kind of guy Richard was, but he made her feel safe, yet uncomfortable. How is that possible? they arrived at the center and he opened the door for her. she stepped out and took a deep breath. It was warm outside, and the sun hadn’t dimmed. She realized that he was serious about shopping, and didn’t know what to say. Well obviously this guy was rich, but she didn’t really want him to buy her all that stuff. Materialistic things didn’t really matter to her, and diamonds…well, she’d never understood the deal with girls and diamonds. She was a silver girl. She loved silver, and she always had a silver bracelet with silver charms around her wrist, which she’d gotten from her father.
“Um, Richard. You know, a good time at the beach or something isn’t all that wrong either.” She hinted with a smile. Plus, if they went to the beach, he would have to get shirtless, and that wasn’t a bad thing. “and,” she added as an afterthought, “it’s free.” She batted her lashes at him, as if to say ‘pretty please’.

Her questions weren't boring him, not at all. He was very interested in her as well. He smiled while she was trying to ask him any questions possible. He smiled and answered them smiling. '' I'm from Seattle '' he said with a smile and looked at her as she asked his age. He bit his lip not wanting to laugh but said nothing after all. '' I'm 19 years old. '' he said with a smile. she mentioned the beach when they were inside and he smiled.
Now she spoiled the surprise. '' The party is tonight at the beach, first its a dance then a real beach party , but if you want we can walk in the moonlight around the coast? '' he said with a smile and grabbed a few dresses. '' so what do you want for the dance? '' he asked with a smile. He had a box in his pocket and handed it over. It contained a silver necklace with a small heart which she could get engraved if she'd like it and a few charms for her bracelet.
He smiled and grabbed a rose. '' Miss Caroline, would you do me the honor and be my date tonight? '' he asked with his also charming smile, his voice not even let her change her mind and his eyes melting in hers. He could be a charming and sweet guy, and when she bashed her eyelashes, he couldn't resist by spoiling the surprise.

he was nineteen, only a year older than her. Yet he had a wistfulness to his eyes that she hadn’t seen on any other boy his age. He stood out from the crowd, looking superior and striking next to the childish teenagers walking about in the mall. Maybe that was because of his clothes and the fact that he was beautiful, but Caroline could also sense that he’d experienced a lot in life, and that had shaped him, but also leaving scars that were yet to be revealed. If he’d let her.
she wanted to protest when she noticed the dresses he’d plucked from the hangers. They were expensive, at least they looked like it; They were beautiful and summery, and she could imagine them flowing in the wind, making her look like a Disney princess. when he said that they were going to the beach, only later, she smiled hugely. It sounded so romantic. “Just you, me and the moonlight sounds amazing.” She said, but she looked a tad sad as she said it. She didn’t have anything to offer him.
“so, what do you want for the dance?” he asked her, and she reached out to feel the soft material of a purple dress he’d picked out, unintentionally brushing his arm with her hand. To anyone else it would look like a gesture of affection. “hmm. I don’t know. These are pricey. What do you think?” she murmured, her hand still on the dress resting over his arm. She turned away to get a better look around the store, and when she looked back at him, he held a rose out to her. '' Miss Caroline, would you do me the honor and be my date tonight? '' he asked her, looking at her as if he could see right through her. she was taken aback at his formalness, and it didn’t take long for a deep blush to reach her cheeks. “I-I would love to.” She stammered, taking the rose. She brought it up to her nose, smelling it, then smiling shyly at him.

Richard smiled when she looked happy as he mentioned beach and the two of them alone. He smiled as he took her hand and walked with her to the desk where he paid for the purple dress. with her in his arms he smiled and nodded at the box. '' you can open it if you wish. '' he said and smiled while walking away with her. He held a pair of swim shorts and a shirt in his hands. '' this is for me at the beach, but the shirt has to come off one time..if you don't mind of course. '' he said with a smile.
His phone rang, again as he picked up. '' yeap'' he said as a woman babbled. '' I'm sorry miss lantern but I'm busy with my own life, which means me and a special person, keep the table though.. we'll come around if she wants. '' he said as the woman hung up. He looked at her and smiled. '' sorry about that, the woman makes me nuts sometimes. '' he chuckled and looked at her. He wanted to see her expression when she opened the box though she seemed to like the rose.
He smiled and took her hand and kissed it. '' if you would excuse me miss, I need to go , I'll be back in one minute. go get yourself a drink if you want, you won't notice I'm gone. '' he smiled and gave her ten dollars as he walked to the toilet. He opened his phone and called Bree's voicemail. '' hey its Fred.. erhm I'm not coming home tonight.. I got plans. '' he said and hung up. She was not his girlfriend, just a girl. So what the hell did he worry about bree.

Her eyes found Richard, who had picked out a pair of swim shorts and a t-shirt for the beach. '' this is for me at the beach, but the shirt has to come off one time…if you don't mind of course. '' he said and smiled with those sinful lips of his. She couldn’t answer right away, because she was at the verge of stuttering again, and that was something she obviously wanted to avoid. Instead, she cocked her head to the side, bit her lip playfully and shook her head. They walked in silence for a bit, but it was that kind of comfortable silence. She didn’t feel the need to force an awkward conversation, when the chemistry between them was so nice, and she hoped he felt the same way. She hoped their friendship was anything but brief and make-believe.
She was about to thank him, once again, for the dress when his phone rang. She studied him as he talked to the person, supposedly a woman, about a table that was supposed to be kept. she smiled as he called her a special person, and her stomach filled with butterflies, who were violently killed by the thought that maybe he’d had plenty of special friends, and she was just another one. She tried to maintain her smile, but it seemed forged and unnatural, and she prayed that he didn’t see it. He hung up and took her hand to kiss it. She felt like she needed air. She decided to open the box to distract both him and herself. As she opened the box, she was once again stunned by the beautiful color and soft silk of the dress. It was a good choice and went beautifully with her pale gold hair. “Richard…I…Thank you so much. I’ve never owned anything like it.” She said softly, and actually leaned over to kiss his cheek, which was surprisingly cold. No matter how in doubt she was about him, she couldn’t ignore the beautiful gift.
'' if you would excuse me miss, I need to go , I'll be back in one minute. go get yourself a drink if you want, you won't notice I'm gone. '' he said in the same charming tone, and gave her ten dollars. “yeah, don’t miss me too much now.” She joked, but her heart wasn’t as into it as before. Why had she only thought of this now? The sad part was that her suspicions seemed so terribly likely. Why wouldn’t a guy like Richard have a girlfriend? Caroline had never had a boyfriend, but to herself that was understandable seeing as she was slightly shy ,and, well, a nerd. But him, he was gorgeous, rich, funny, charming… she found a table to wait at, but wasn’t thirsty. she eyed the box that contained the dress and sighed. She would have to ask him straight out if he was taken sooner or later. And the sooner the better.

Richard came back with a smile on and looked at her. She was still happy with the gifts, the silver and the dress. He looked at her, she looked puzzling, but you could see she had no experience, which means she wasn't taken yet. That would soon be over if Richard won't do anything. She was gorgeous, she just didn't see it. He smiled and looked at her still. '' could you get a drink for yourself? my , cousin was calling, she worries about too much. And then of course the restaurant for my reservation. I was supposed to have a dinner alone. But if you don't have plans i changed it to a candlelight dinner for two. '' he said calmly like it was normal.
He looked at her waiting for an answer. He hoped she liked it as much as he did. He never had a girlfriend, because they were different then Caroline. He looked at Caroline while he was spinning with a small box in his hand containing a ring. He would ask her out. Yes that was the plan. Asking her out as his girlfriend. He would do it at the beach. When they stopped dancing and walked in the moonlight.
ooc: sorry its short.

she eyed him as he came out of the restroom. The gifts sat neatly on the table beside her, and she couldn’t wait to put the dress on. She hoped that he could drive her home just so she could pin up her hair and get a par of silver sandals to go with the dress. She still wasn’t sure of his intentions, but who would have been? It’s not like she really knew him. Common sense told her to call the night off, but she didn’t really want to. Oh, god. I’m falling for him, she thought. She both hoped and feared that he would drop the gentleman act, because then there would be nothing for him to hide behind so she could see who he really was. She was sure there was more to Richard than what meets the eye. She was also sure that whatever secrets he had would break her heart but also make her fall for him. She noticed a second or so too late that he was talking to her. “hmm? Oh, yes. That’d be great. I’m starving.” She said breathlessly, and mentally ran at the wall, head first. “Um… do you think we can drive by La Push? I have to get some stuff from home.” She asked politely, smiling a little extra at him when a group of teenage girls walked by, obvious adoration towards Richard painted on their faces. She felt exposed in the mall, and wanted to get out. She linked her arm through his and tugged slightly “Crowdy here, don’t you think? I need air.” She felt so weird, like falling…
ooc: mine’s short too. Sorry ‘bout that x)

Richard smiled as she mentioned la push he kept smiling, he was not scared and he wasn't going to die. '' of course my lady I'll take you to the door. '' he suggested and looked at the girl rolling his eyes. '' they're not half as pretty as you are. '' he chuckled. He got up as she linked her arm with his. He walked her to the car and opened the door for her again. '' if you don't mind I need to get dressed as well... cause I don't want to hang out the gentleman alone. So what if i pick you up at eight? '' he asked her with a smile.
He drove her to la push as he stopped at the border. '' where do you live?'' he asked and looked her way with fair blue eyes. how he loved strong contacts. He smiled and kept it up as he looked around frown his window. No weird scent to be found, he was just taking her home.. shouldn't lead to a fight.

She was so glad when they got out from the mall. Her pulse slowed down to normal ( at least as normal as it could be around Richard), and she didn’t feel quite as flustered anymore. She was just acting paranoid, and plain stupid. “Yeah, eight is perfect. Gives me some time to get ready,” she answered lightly as she got in the car. She didn’t bother to say that she could open a car door, because with a guy like Richard, it was pointless. She leaned back in the soft seat, watching Richard as he drove. The car filled with his sweet scent; she’d never smelled anything like it. It was manly, but sweet and alluring at the same time, while she used body- splash with roses and lime. Like a fifteen year old girl. Pathetic. “just drive on. It’s the second house to the left.” She said, pointing down the road. He parked in the driveway, but she didn’t go out right away. She turned and leaned over, planting a soft kiss on his cheek, the wiping the smudged lipgloss away with her thumb. “Thanks for not killing me,” she smiled, her face only inches from his, strands of her hair resting on his shoulder. “And thanks for a fantastic day. I’ll see you at eight, all dressed up.” She said and got out of the car with the dress under her arm. She stopped short when she saw her BMW parked in the driveway as if it had never been elsewhere. “wha-?” she turned towards Richard with raised brows as if asking what is this?, but she didn’t really want an answer. He really did know everybody, and maybe even The God Father. ooc: we should probably start a new thread
