Gwen sat inside the library, she had so little time to finish her books. She had recently arrived back from Seattle where she had been with the Libby girl, she was easy to be around and to get along with. Something about her made Gwen at ease and able to get along with her and they were both well ... outsiders almost, she was integrated with her neighborhood. Gwen liked Libby, a lot.
Gwen sighed as she placed her pen down, she had written only 100 pages so far over the week she had been working to try and get her book rewritten and she was running out of muse and she was on her last playlist on her Ipod touch, her Ipad lay close to hand for research and just to relax along with her laptop on her other side. She was well prepared, when her Ipad bleeped to tell her she had an e-mail she pulled it up, Carla. The e-mail read:
"Hey Gwennie sweety.
The neighbors son wants to take you and Megan to dinner along with his brother. You up for it?
I know you want to work on your book and maybe he might give you some inspiration. He wants to take you and his brother wants to take Meggie.
He says he knows you, Tom Bulman? well yeah. He likes you I think sweetie, you should go.
Love
Carla"
Gwen looked at the computer and sighed, she knew Megan would want her to go so she clicked reply and tapped the screen slowly, replying
"Hey ..
I think I should probably go so umm ... did you get his number? I mean ... I know who you are talking about and he is kinda cute but he is a bit of an idiot. I suppose that might just be male bravado?
I don't know ... he is a bit odd. Do you think he'd be able to bring a third friend so I could bring the girl Iw as telling you about, Libby, or her younger brother maybe?
Love
Gwennie"
She pushed the Ipad aside and looked at her laptop where a message waited for her from one of her online friends as the game chugged away and she clicked a few keys, causing the hot-keys to activate and the building process for her weapon to speed up. She sighed, her life revolved around her 4 possessions, her notebook(micro-laptop), her actual laptop and her Ipad. Her ipod was her muse but she needed more songs so she skimmed onto Itunes, picking out a few new albums and bought them, syncing them onto her Ipod and then her Ipad.
When she put the newest of her playlists on she picked up her pen and began writing notes again before pulling over the notebook laptop and continuing to type, chapter 2. She looked at her notes and then continued writing out the second chapter, making quick work of it as she built up her main character, a projection of herself and her sister in one.
She looked at the librarian as the woman approached and sighed, great. When the woman placed a cup in front of her
Gwen couldn't help but double take, it was a triple sized caramel coffee with a cream shot on top and this was her favorite. She smiled and nodded in thanks before continuing to write, taking a sip of the coffee. The fluid slipped down her throat like a stream of heavenly bliss. She looked at her plot notes that Megan had helped her rewrite and she continued to write, following it closely. She looked at her hands, an ink stain across her thumb up the heel of her palm made her realize just how much she had written.
When she had written most of the second chapter she sat back, she was only three songs into the playlist which had led zepplin, Pink floyd and of course slipknot and stone sour. This was perfect given the dark feel she always tried to put into her books, she had gotten two published because of that feeling and now she expanded on it.
She smirked slightly, perhaps this would be her big break. She would publish this under her real name and come out to her small following as the author of the books she wrote under the Alias of Alison Small. She smiled, what a great reminder it would be for her family to pick that up but then her smile vanished, they would only pick it up after she was gone and probably cry over her. She didn't want that at all, she wanted them to have piece of mind but that came with knowing the person who passed away was happy when they died, that they knew Gwen wasn't/
