Three months. Three incredibly difficult, life changing months. That was the amount of time that Corah had been in Forks. Twelve weeks certainly had the power to change someone, but Cory never expected that she would be the person to change. Leaving her home in Pennsylvania was quite easily the hardest decision that she had to make, but a new start was what she was desperate for ever since Liam had died. The drastic ways her life had changed were astonishing as she looked back on the past few months. On her way home from the stables, Corah became wrapped up inside her thoughts. This happened quite often, actually. The twelve minute drive from one side of the village to the other was plenty of time for one to think. A smile cracked the surface of calm and concentration on Cory's face as she drove, remembering the night she had first come to Forks.
It must have been nearly three in the morning when she pulled into town, the rain pounding against the Uhaul she had rented for the trip. Irritated and tired, all Corah wanted to do was go find a cheap hotel and sleep until about noon the next day. Well, putting in the majority of her available money in her first six months' lease on her house had left Corah drained for cash. Not only was she tired from the two days long trip, but sharing a small truck cab with a nearly full sized Husky was not be pleasant. The house was eventually found, and Cory slept on the floor of her new living room, her dog curled up at her side. It was the beginning of her new life, and looking back, she had no regrets on picking her new home via the 'dart to the map' method.
Once Corah's Prius was in her gravel driveway, she heard Bennett's excited barks. Her one true companion, her dog, was always there. It was not just another night, it was Bennett's night to go for a walk around town. Or wherever else Corah decided to take him. After dragging her tired self into her house, Cory randomly decided to change. She honestly didn't mind what she looked like in her clothes from work, but for some odd reason she felt the need to change.
Coming out a bit more presentable, Corah completed the package by shaking her long, raven hair out of it's pony tail. The waves in it weren't oddly spaced, although there was a distinct line where the elastic had strained against her hair. Completing her outfit were two rings she wore: the navy blue and white antique cameo encased in gold. Perhaps the biggest change came when Corah felt comfortable enough to take her engagement ring off. Instead of not having her deceased love represented, she had bought a silver ring with an emerald as the stone. It was his birthstone. Taking a look at herself in her mirror caused Corah to shrug and wipe away the eyeliner that had smeared on the corners of her eyes. Looks weren't an issue, honestly. All the two were planning to do was go take a walk at tonight's chosen place: the lake. After loading Bennett in the car, they left in the direction of the lake.
Once they arrived, the excitement was nearly palpable from not only the dog, but Corah as well. She loved nature, it was so calming. The scenery around Forks was actually one of the things that Cory considered influential on her new and improved self. Once Bennett had his leash on firmly, and the car was locked, Corah headed off on the main trail that looped around the small body of water. The glass-plated surface of the water was calming, allowing Corah to take in the smells and sounds of the nature surrounding her without distraction.

Faith sighed as she walked along the lake her cloak over her shoulders and concealed her face. The month was coming to a close it seemed like forever though as she sat down by the water and relaxed for awhile before she decided to dive in for a swim. Removing her cloak and then her top revealing a bikini afterwards she got her bottoms off and stepped out in a suit and set her staff against a tree and walked back to the water and then dove inside letting the cold water hit her skin as she floated quietly for awhile enjoying the coolness on her skin as she stayed there for nearly an hour. As she started back to the shore she noticed someone and smiled moving closer “hey” a small smile lit her face as she watched her.
Getting out by the shore she paused “my name is Faith it is nice to meet you” she smiled and walked over and grabbed her cloak and pulled it on it instantly warmed her up “do you live around here?” she asked after a few moments. She had never become close with anyone and doubted that would change. The fact that she would be Basil would be there in a matter of a few days made her life difficult. She would have no way to contact them for a month and even then Basil wouldn’t chances were…it was just to hard on her part and she didn’t want to hurt anyone…it was mostly against her nature. While she maybe a warrior witch she knew her limits and liked to have more fun then train though she did a bit of both.
Ever since she had been cursed she had known she would always be alone she could not go back to her coven and she would never find someone Evran was gone she had no idea where she would go and knew that she would never see her again. Shaking her head she almost didn’t realize that she had tears running down her face until she felt it hit her hand and she brushed them away and sighed and sat down slowly “so what are you doing out so late?” she asked after a few moments and tilted her head to the side curiosity in her eyes as she snuggled into the warm robe as she used it to brush away hear tears…

Bennett was more than excited to be out on the hike, and the constant wagging of his tail was proof of that. Being a husky and needing a lot of exercise, he was always glad to be outdoors. Corah laughed as he stopped to sniff a few of the trees along the more rugged part of the trail. They rarely got to go hiking back at home, especially since they lived in town. Now that they lived in a place with such spectacular nature and opportunities to go out more, the walks they took were longer. Corah closed her eyes and breathed in the mountain air scented by the pine trees around her. Nature was like air to her, she had to have it.
Coming around the final bend of the trail's loop, Corah saw a girl bathing in the water. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly in curiosity. There was swimming here? She didn't know. It had only been her third trip to the lake, though. Between her two jobs, she didn't have as much free time as she would like. She was just thankful it was summer and she didn't have college to worry about at the moment. After reaching her hand up to her brow to wipe away the beads of sweat there, she stopped and let Benny drink some water. It had been a workout for both of them, which was a good thing.
By the time Benny and Corah had made it to where the girl was, she was out of the water and greeting with them with a smile. "Hey." The girl said, causing a smile to come on Cory's face as well. "Hi there." Corah said, walking closer, making sure Bennett was behaving himself. He could be a bit odd around strangers. Either he liked you or he barked at you until you left. "My name is Faith, it's nice to meet you. Do you live around here?" she said, pulling on her cloak-like bathing suit cover. Corah's smile widened as she put a hand on the back of Bennett's head, knotting her fingers gently in the fur there. "It's nice to meet you too. I'm Corah, but you can call me Cory. This is Bennett." She said, patting the back of her dog's head as he gave an approving bark. "Yeah, I do, I just moved here three months ago."Corah said, running her free hand through the end of her ponytail.
Corah noticed Faith's eyes tear up, and a look of concern was soon on her face. Her observant nature usually left nothing for her to imagine when it came to people's emotions. "Faith...what's wrong?" she asked, taking a step closer to the girl as she sat down. Corah didn't want to make her uncomfortable, but she was concerned. Mindlessly playing with the cameo on her right hand, she waited for the girl's reply. "I just got off work about an hour and a half ago and I decided to come out here to take Bennett for his daily walk." she said, a soft smile coming to her face as she sat down beside Faith.
It wasn't unusual for Corah to try to comfort people when they were down, and tonight was no exception. Of course she didn't want to be rude and just start firing questions at her. Noticing how she nestled herself in her robe to dry the tears, Cory adjusted her own jacket against the cool air. "Have you lived here long?"she asked, looking over at the girl. It was a good start for their conversation, she thought. Corah pulled a few blades of grass out of the ground absent mindedly, waiting for Faith's reply.
