Nikita was in bed, still sleeping even though it was 3 o'clock in the day, she had patrol the night before so she was super tired. And when she got home, like always her grandparents started yelling at her for sneaking out, and like always she took the punishment they gave her, even though she was out making sure no leeches were around to hurt them. She thought about just telling them the truth, everything would be easier then. But her grandparents were old, she was afraid that the news of her being able to phase would cause them to have a heart attack and die. Nikita couldn't risk that, she'd already lost her parents, there was no way she was going to let anything happen to her grandparents.

Nikita's eyes opened as the smell of food entered her nose, she got up and saw her grandmother was baking a cake, just smelling it made Nikita's mouth water. She got out of bed and walked into the kitchen, after her grandmother told her it would be a while Nikita decided that she would go to her favorite place to kill time while she was waiting for her grandmothers cake to get done. She went back to her room and changed into white shorts, a striped tank top, and dark pink flip flops. She pulled her hair back into a messy bun, she looked at herself once in a mirror and happy with her appearance, she left and started walking toward the cliffs.

When she got pretty close to them, she heard laughing. She wondered who would be up this high. Most people jumped from lower down, normally only the pack was up here, and she could tell from the laughter it wasn't any of them. Once she got past the cover of the trees she stopped dead in her tracks at seeing who it was. Cody, her abusive ex- boyfriend...The reason she phased the first time. She just stared at him, not knowing what to do, she hadn't seen him since they broken up. His eyes made contact with hers, and a cocky, knowing smirk found it place on his face. "Hey Nikki, finally figured out your lifes crap without me?" He said, Nikita glared, "Don't call me that." She said sharply.

Only her friends got to call her Nikki, and he wasn't a friend, by any means. In fact she wouldn't mind seeing him fall off that cliff, even though she knew he would be fine if he did because he would land in the water. Cody laughed in her face, "Shut it. I didn't say you could talk did I? Don't tell me that because you started hanging out with those weird kids you've forgotten about how I have to give you permission to speak before you can." Nikita glared, he was dissing her pack members and that wasn't going to fly, "No, you shut it. I'm not as helpless as I use to be." She stated, Cody started circling around her, "Your always helpless, and you know what? Your parents are probably glad they are dead, they got away from you." He spat, that done it. Nikita started shaking violently, she tried to take deep breaths to calm herself, but it wasn't working. Her hands were fists at her sides, she was too pissed to calm down now.
