Ohhhh how the mighty fall. That annoying thought seemed to circle around her mind.. I fowl reminder of her present state of circumstance..

To be honest that fowl thought had been doing enough loops in Chelsea's opinion she didn't relish the fact that her mind had some how turned into some sort of bizarre vulture and was presently picking away at the one thing she had going for her at the moment. Chelsea knew the worst thing she could possibly do is allow these dismal thoughts to continue to plague her and drag her under with depression she had to keep moving keep pushing.

She pushed Afton’s face from her mind yet again forcing that rightful pain that came with his memory away not allowing herself to feel as she knew that would only lead to more pain and more agony and there was nothing in that certainly no future.

“ I survived for a reason. “ Chelsea softly whispered to herself needing to hear those words to believe them.. It wasn’t the first time she had those words whispered before.. No the first time she had heard those was the time she heard them whispered by Aro when she had awaken from the burn..

Looking up sky bound she found herself blinking at the ensuing drops of rain that served as warning of the storm that was only minutes away.. It seemed luck was on her side again perhaps this Washington place wasn’t so bad as she originally thought cause with the constant rain the air was moist against her skin and it softened the ground to make her all but silent.

Frankly she needed stealth.. It wasn’t that she was lumbering away along the trail and scaring everything within a hundred miles radius.. Okay well least not in the past hour at least.. She frowned at the thought of that mornings attempt at a meal..

I almost had it.. She quipped silently at herself excusing the fact that she was still hungry at the excuse that dreadful Buck was a lot more quicker than it originally appeared.. Dreadful Beast She frowned thinking how she had done this hunger to herself as she had chosen to go for that trophy specimen instead of picking off runt, but that was the true problem wasn’t it.. Her pride, always her stubborn pride..

I didn’t remember seeing on Blasted Animal Planet that the Dreadful things have a powerful suspension and they can corner on a Dime… Damn.. If Aro was looking for Stealth and Smooth Rides I would have advise him not his wife but try mounting a freaking Deer… It was in the midst of another wave of inner whining babble that she heard the snap of a twig.. She silently swore thinking that she was once again the dreadful culprit as she had been the offender most of that prior morning and the day prior but stopped frozen as she was she looked down beneath her booted foot and saw only grass soft wet silent grass..

She couldn’t help herself as the victorious smile washed over her lips.. Finally something worse at this than I am… She found herself praying that the culprit was an animal cause she was of course grinning like a deranged Loon.. She whirled around and steadied herself as she quickly wafted threw techniques of bringing down a prey which was a bit awkward as she hadn’t had to so much as lift a finger in centuries and her fighting techniques were as well used as where her boning a decent corset techniques were..

Remembering to slink down and widening her stance she lowered down and readied herself to pounce.. Praying that what was making that racket was least a bit bigger than that sick raccoon she ate three days prior.. Wincing at the memory of its watery blood and foul taste.. She whispered.. “ its got to taste better.. Hell a mange suffering ground squirrel has to taste better than that.. “

He was all alone. Not caring about any future anymore. Everyone died and they got his sister so what to hide. Alec walked down the roads, into woods deserts, all the places to find more Volturi members. He never believed they all vanished, and when they were getting stronger, they'll take back what's theirs. The Chris guy from the pure ones is nothing more then a coward.

He doesn't fight, he just uses powers that doesn't belong to him, not knowing he loses them every time he uses it. And the one who had it will get it back stronger and more powerful then ever. Alec looked at the mountains of Forks. He heard Heidi was close, from a lot of humans she was called a beauty with violet eyes. That means they must be out there, would Heidi's closest friend be out there too? Maybe if he could find Chelsea he would know.

He followed the scent of animals, he hated the scent. And smelled a familiar smell. Chelsea! He started running, following her scent. He arrived at a big place where the woman was standing. '' Chelsea! '' he called , he couldn't hide his joy, he lost all of his official behavior and walked her way. Please don't say they're all gone. He looked at her and smiled half. '' you're alive! Am I glad you are'' he said smiling fully.

He might be just a kid, well they always told he was but he didn't care. This was Chelsea, and even if Jane was a bitch towards her, Chelsea had a higher rank. So did Heidi. He looked around to find Heidi, didn't they found each other yet? He sighed, maybe it was false hope and she was dead. Alec sighed sadly at that thought and looked at the gorgeous Chelsea.

Lan looked around as he closed off his mind and opened up his instincts, his senses and his thirst. He looked around then heard voices, the voice of a woman first then he heard a boy. He followed the sound and leapt slowly into a tree above them and smirked when he heard who it was, good he had found them.

He looked down at the woman he identified to be Chelsea and spoke in a silky tone
"Good afternoon Miss Volturi and I have no idea who you are. He looked at them both and sat on the branch before he smiled and spoke to them "I am Lan ... I would understand if you were searching for Heidi. Well I know where she is ... I .. I am her mate, she is looking for you and the issue there I have is that I am concerned about your intentions, how many of you are there? Once I have my answers I will tell her where you are."

Strange that all she could smell was pine Needles it was almost annoying. The over whelming stench of Pine it reminded her of how she felt when she was closed in with a woman who was wearing too much perfume.. Mentally she knew that she could smell other things, things she should be smelling but sadly her focus was locked on those stupid pine trees she didn't grasp the allure of it at first it wasn't like this was the first time she had seen a pine tree but here there just simply so many of them.

She heard the snapping again and looked up abruptly as her name was called.. His scent crept to her knocking out the overwhelming stench of pine and she breathed a sigh of up-most relief not so much that he was there or that it was Alec and she was blind with joy but she was just grateful to be smelling something other than pine..

She watched him as he ran full speed at her.. Her eyes widen with shock.. Okay so this wasn't what she was accustom to receiving as a response to her presence but she did have to admit she was mildly pleased to see him looking so happy..

After all it was Alec and where she didn't have children or in her opinion the basic instincts it took to raise a child she did hold a great deal amount of regard when it came to Alec and Jane after all she had been there when they were brought to Volterra it was her face that was among those who they first glanced at when they awaken from their transformation.. You don't spend all that time with someone and not develop some degree of bond to them..

She swept up to him embracing him in a manner she would want to be embraced by those of her coven well those who lucky remained.. Something lit inside of Chelsea as she breathed his un-tarnished scent.. This was a blessing it was Alec she had found he was very much a needful thing when it came to survival talk about gift horses she realized how lucky she was that it was him and not someone who purpose was not as warranted it could have been someone like Felix or Heidi granted she would love to have a fresh decent meal right now but truth was Alec could give her security and that could make the pangs of daily living a bit more livable..

She offered a fraction of a smile that was customary for her and reached in to peck his cheek also customary for her as it was a sign of affection and manners..

"Try not to think about them.. Alec" She whispered softly her voice struggling not to crack with the raw emotion she was struggling to keep hidden.. " It makes it easier to survive if you don't look back if each one we find is a blessing instead of a curse to those left behind.. " Looking away she felt her glance drop demurely to the ground as she winced as she fought for control.. " I'm glad that it is you I've found dearest.."

Their moment was ruined as she glanced up to find another approaching feeling defensive and protective over Alec she quickly put herself in the path of the stranger so he would reach her first. She listened to his words and found herself confused..

Volturi How does he know.. I've never laid eyes on him before.. She found herself intrigued but that fraction of curiosity was spent the moment he mentioned a NAME.

"A mate of Heidi's?" She whispered playing the words over her tongue and the more time it sat there the less things made sense.. " You do know we mate for life.. Not saying your not just a glamorous catch in itself.. I'm sure you are.. Just well I wouldn't confuse a nights romp with true love..." She winced at how that came out...

It isn't his fault I don't trust Heidi.. Hell it isn't my fault either.. Just when you seen someone betray a coven as easily as she did.. Chelsea tried not to remember that night when they had confiscated Heidi from that all female coven.

" I'm sorry that was horribly rude even for me.. " She looked at Alec giving him a pleading look to keep quiet.. and not mention names as it wouldn't serve well to give too much information to strangers.. " I'm sorry but I don't know you.. I wouldn't willing go with someone on word alone and not at all on the word of Heidi. I have no business with you.. Sir and trust I have no intentions when it comes to your..." The word stuck in her throat like dried blood.. " beloved.."

Lan's snarl was out of the blue when she said about confusing a nights romp with true love and his hand crushed the section of branch he was gripping into dust, he eyes locked to hers and he growled out several words
"Do you think I Would of come out of hiding for anything short of that?! NO! It was your precious Aro and Caius that forced me into hiding all because I knew they were collecting gifted ones for their own ends. I tried once, but authoritative figures cannot be dealt with. I Am only here because of her." then when she apologized he calmed slightly and shook his head before smiling sadistically
"My only intention is to crush the pure ones, make them rue the day they ever stepped into our world. Now I am no pure one" he said and fixed his golden eyes onto hers and continued "I could make you come with me but I have no intention of it, I offer you a chance to be reunited with one who is lost. I suppose the more of you the better to get back your pedestal? Well now I am in the deep end of all this. Now do you really believe I would mistake something I know and have seen well enough in my life? It hurts to be away from her now but she is seeking you south of here, you won't find her though. Trust me." then he looked at Alec
"Does the boy not have a voice? Oh well, now do you want to reunite with Heidi who was adamant on rejoining you all or not?"

Alec was so happy to see Chelsea, she was like a mother to him, and he wouldn't be ashamed to say it either. Jane was the one who hid her feelings not Alec. He looked at Chelsea happy to see him to as they hugged each other and it felt good to be with her again. Now he had to protect Chelsea from further harm.

He looked at her and nodded when she said he shouldn't think of them all, and that she was glad they were together. '' I'm glad to be with you too, you know, Jane is prisoner, and Heidi is out there, I caught her smell and..'he quit his sentence as he saw the rough man on the tree branch. Who the hell was he?

He started talking to Chelsea. alec got all defensive and said nothing, he watched him carefully as he said he was mated to heidi. How could he be? heidi had her husband , and during the fight she wasn't allowed to fight. She had to run so they wouldn't catch her. If the pure ones used heidi, she'd be dead.

Alec looked at the rough looking man and back at Chelsea who replied, she was kind of harsh about her best friend, or they seemed like that back at Volterra. Both happily married, more children to have fun with. Alec was caught out of the dream when the man said he wasn't going to say where heidi was.

Alec groaned. '' she is our faimly!'' he protested and looked at Chelsea. She continued talking with the man and Alec wasn't happy with this. Then when the guy asked if he had a voice Alec almost shouted. '' Too bad they didn't kill you, it made easier for us to find heidi, she's family. '' he said and he was loyal to the death.

Then he looked at Chelsea. '' Don't be mad at Heidi, she didn't do anything wrong, she was forced to leave, she wanted to help you but they dragged her away from you. '' Alec said softly and looked at the golden eyed man. '' I don't care if you are going to fight the pure ones, just don't you dare to touch my baby sister, or your life will be gone as theirs. '' Alec growled all out of defense, he was insulting the family.

Lan listened to the boy when he shouted and simply smiled a sickly sweet smile, his eyes locked with the boys and he simply raised a hand and shook his head
"Ahh young master Alec, you see the only siblings I know of in the volturi are the witch twins as the Romanians call you." then he looked at Chelsea "The boy started by speaking sense then ti all went wrong, Heidi didn't have a choice, she has told me so herself. She misses you Chelsea Volturi. Greatly, or I would not be here." then he stopped.

His memories flooded his mind and he sighed before continuing
"Once I aspired to be one of the guard, you see I have the rather potent gift of making someone do what I want them to do, just a few words and they are mine you see, but Caius would have none of my demands, I refused to have my free will taken by your gift Chelsea." then he stopped before he sighed and said softly
"Heidi was never truly mated, she shared something shallower with her husband, she shared a human emotion with him. This Chris of the pure ones, I can help you get to him and even take away his advantage, it looks like you'll need all the help you can get. You just need to trust me and allow me one thing, a pleasant chat with Caius. If he still lives. Now if you trust me I can take you to Heidi who has no doubt decided to return to our hiding spot and has found me gone, yes or no?" and his expression said that no was not really an option, just a courtesy.

Well if there was a reason for her to question if Alec truly knew her, she had that reason with his statements... She made it a point not to get too close to anyone of the guard excluding that of the brothers for which she saw her self equal too..

To daddle in the relationships of those members of the guard was too much of a risk she had thought.. First there was that point that she herself was responsible for their how they viewed one another last thing she needed was her own personal views distorting what her ability was able to do..

After all she was already at a disadvantage when it came to certain members of her coven she had personally seen under what circumstance they entered under she was already privileged to their misgivings she had already formed a opinion about those certain few and cause of that she was most careful on how she interacted with them.. She was reclusive and sadly most mistaken that for arrogance and snobbery.

Well when it came to certain people it was just as it seemed. She didn't realize how little people knew of her till that moment in which Alec spoken.. She felt a bit hurt at it really that he didn't see or didn't care to see her for who she was..

Thankfully Alec spared her the extent of pain by opening his mouth and behaving as a child would.. He did the very thing she had tried to warn him against.. She began to wonder if it would be for the better if she encouraged him to go with Lan and leave her to work as she was used to working.. Alone..

“ Darling” she whispered without infliction or emotion in her tone..So deceptive of the annoyance she was feeling.. “ WAS our family.. She is not that any longer.. She has taken….This Reminan_____________” she paused forcing herself to take a more polite road.. “ I’m sorry Lan is it?“ She paused.. Her snobbish nature practically still hanging in the air…” My darling. “ She spoke softly her eyes on Alec her tone soft..
“ Heidi has taken this charming Lan.. As her m…mate.” She practically choked on the word openly wincing at it.. “ You know with that bond loyalties have changed.. Her interest no longer rests in those whom she once called family they rest in what he wills..” Her eyes flickered quickly back at Lan.. “ And as for her prior Mating.. It is sooo easy that you speak of her actions when you were not there to witness them.. She might have spoken poorly of her prior mate but I assure you He died defending her with all that he was… And the fact that she spoke that poorly of him makes no desire for loyalty here “ She knew she should just stop there and say nothing else but it was simply eating at her.. “ and I will leave you with a word of caution…“ She pushed herself to walk that small distance to him her obviously small stature over shadowed by his size.. "You see here is your problem, you seem to think that your gift with shifting people's bonds of loyalty, well makes them able to find their mate. No it doesn't. She never spoke poorly of him, in fact she broke down when we realized what everything meant." then he paused and continued "You see I am the shark in the waters, little does she realize how much I have always hated Caius, Aro and the other fool."

Lan listened once more but by the time she had finished he had jumped from the tree and stood over her, his posture daring Alec to try something as he looked down at Chelsea "Miss Volturi, her loyalties, they haven't shifted one inch. She still desires to be with the Volturi ... family she calls you. Well it seems you are the ones stabbing her in the back, she is out trying to find you now but this is my territory, she has no idea what she is taking on trying to track you. Now I made a promise to her that I would put past hates aside but you make it very difficult with your lack of social graces, even I who have been hiding from the entire world for centuries have more social grace than you. Now watch your tongue and understand, Heidi hasn't shifted from being loyal to the Volturi one inch, she is even willing to give up the safety of being around me to try and rejoin you."

She was truly showing her royal red bitch color's at that moment. All prior attempts at politeness forced or not had been left on the side of the road the moment that little half wit chose to speak to her in that way.. As if she had the time or the interest it took to even listen to him for amount his little rant went..

She watched as he attempted to intimate her and Alec by climbing in a tree above them to bellow down below like that was any way to regain respect that he had lost because he didn't know how to staple his mouth shut and refrain from blubbering like the incontinent butthole that he no doubt was..

She looked up at him her hand bracing in front of Alec in case he decided that he had enough of Lan. No instead she wore the look that she would use on the dimmest of bleeders.. “ Does that really work for you.. Feel like a Man up there.. Having to get a bit of height to get your point across.. How very pathetic.. I do believe that is on the same level as kicking a dog or taking candy from a baby..”

Chelsea’s black eyes glittered slightly with satisfaction when he removed himself from the tree, however she took notice that he was still attempting to intimidate her with his stance and his words were still meant to be cutting. Apparently they had least one thing in common neither of them had one glimmer of like for one another and where he hated her she could safely say that the feeling was mutual..

“ Do you really think I give two tosses about what you think? That later tonight I will cry myself to sleep because Lan says I lack social graces….You are aware that you’re the only one here who is hissing and spitting and climbing tree’s like a nutter right? “

She gave a dismissive roll of her eyes finding the whole thing preposterous that she would be in that moment sharing a difference of opinion with someone who’s opinion mattered very little to her?

“ You obviously want us to go with you.. That is beyond evident.. “ she said flatly looking for the right words to say.. “ I on the other hand don’t require you.. My story doesn’t change from the outcome of if you choose to holler, bellow and insult my mother or if you choose to climb yet another tree.. However if it is your wish that I go with you I would strongly suggest a more docile tone, you will get nothing in idle threats with me I could really careless about what it is that you think you can do.. I’m not here to have a pissing contest over who’s power is more fierce cause we both know that young Alec here would whoop both our asses.. So by all means if your capable of reasonable thought and reasonable action please feel free to insert it here… Cause I’m at my end with you wasting my time..”

Patience wasn't his thing, he used to kick ass as soon as there is a threat. The black some stained from his feet, he was done with this. You don't talk to a woman like Chelsea, not with him near. He looked at lan with no respect and smile at all. Chelsea made him feel safer though she had to be safe too and this guy made her in more danger then anyone.

He watched the man hiss, growl, climbing trees like a chipmunk. '' you know they made movies of your kind, just tell us where she is. '' he said before Chelsea said that she probably left the family for good. That couldn't be possible, Heidi wouldn't do such a thing. He looked at Lan and growled. He wanted to yell that Lan stole Heidi, abused Heidi and lied about the mating.

Then Chelsea spoke of Adam, heidi's husband. who's supposed to be dead. Alec knew how much Adam and Heidi loved each other, the mating must have been a mistake. '' you're not her mate, you're probably attracted by her power, making you feel special and the electric shocks running through your body when you touch her. Its not mating i don't believe that.'' he said in protest.

She loved Adam he knew she did. Then Chelsea and lan spoke to each other , Alec just trying not to attack him, and chelsea knew he did because her hand close showed every sign of not doing anything, the darkness on is feet didn't fade, he was ready as hell. Then Lan spoke of how disloyal they were and bad family and Chelsea's manners. '' you blame her manners? well, you might not when you know how to shave and get decent clothes. '' he protested, this was not how it worked.

Alec looked at Chelsea, she noticed Lan wanted them to come with him, Alec didn't want to go on one hand, on the other hand, they could;d find the truth with Heidi. But there was just one thing stuck in his head. '' what if, you are going to keep heidi away from us? what if she dumps you when i tell her the truth of what happened to Adam? '' he said like no one else knew.

Adam didn't die, like Chelsea. He was there watching heidi cry and hide into his body when he missed pieces of it. He wanted to tell her but then Alec had to save jane and it was all too late, and heidi got dragged away from his body, just like Chelsea with Afton. Did Chelsea know? '' chelsea, you know you're like a mother to both of us, and a sister to heidi, because you guys got more in common then you think, both dragged away from your husband, both not able to see them anymore.

Heidi's husband is alive. '' he said with a soft tone in his voice. This was a tragedy. Alec looked at Lan. '' youre reahing for someone you can't have sir , so give us heidi so she can rebuild her life. Soon she will know you lied about them being mates. '' Alec said soft and urgent. No one knew it, what if Afton didn't die either?

Lan looked past chelsea to the boy and hissed the words
"OR I can tear you apart and go after Caius and if your words are true I might just tear apart Heidi for deceiving me. Your gift won't help you against me boy." then he turned away and began pacing before smirking
"Well I am not going to tell you where she is because there is nothing in it for me, if your words are true I'll take pleasure in making sure she regrets lying to me because she won't be able to find her precious husband an dI may kill him for all of this too."

Chelsea didn't move an inch when Lan basically threaten to kill the both of them... Frankly Chelsea was not the least bit concerned she had seen this ploy countless times being who she was and whom she worked for you simply weren't a volturi if you weren't subjected to your idle threats of violence and she knew well enough to know the true threats of the world were just like her they didn't hiss, spit or threaten nooo they simply did as they wished.

Looking at Alec she gave a roll of her eyes.. " Well I don't know about you Alec but after that Display of Hoooorah, I'm positively stricken still with the up most fear... " Her voice wasn't flat this time.. No this time there was a twinge of amusement that suggested sooner or later she would break into laughter... She looked back at Lan.. " Look Mr..Ummm Lan is it.. I know as amusing as this little exchange of banter has been but it sounds like we are simply at a cross roads... Last time I checked that wasn't a call for blood shed, or whatever it is you were suggesting.. You might have been simply suggesting to wear Alec's head as a bonnie cause well your attempting a break into wonderful world of fashion or whatever... But this is simple you go about your ways, we go about ours.. No pish or pash or tearing of anyone part like a complete nutter.."

Ohhh and I'm sooooo sure you would have been accepted into the Volturi with this charming disposition and degree for logic..

"Come along Alec, we must leave Lan to his ramblings even the criminal insane have people to see and stuff to do..."

Alec calmed down. He had to find Heidi somehow and bring her to safety, then go on the search for Adam. Alec watched Lan giving threats like its all some show. Alec smiled and felt pretty sure that lan can't hurt heidi, she's too adorable for it, even the worst assassins would admit it. Alec watched Chelsea do the talking and he agreed 100%. Then she said to come and leave.

Alec gave a soft nod. This was over. No chance. '' I found a nice place to stay for the night so we can move on tomorrow. '' he said with a soft voice and looked at Lan. '' It wasn't a pleasure to meet you , and good luck with your stuff, I know you'll be happy to fail. '' Alec said in a monotone voice and looked at Chelsea wondering if she had to add something.

Alec got bored around this man, who looked like the scary man from the bushes. Why would Heidi let herself in to him, there must be more then a small reason. And Jane, how he missed his sister, or his friend Adam, heidi's husband, saying that he is mostly her wife. Alec frowned as he observed the guy for the moment, why was he wearing clothes from like a million years ago, never heard of shaving and fashion?

he was no fashion snob but this was just not normal anymore, looking like a homeless person who kills animals and tries to hit on a woman with a too high rank, he's pathetic or a psycho. Alec looked bored at both. '' Chelsea I'm hungry, maybe a mountain snack?'' he asked her with a soft look her way and back to Lan. '' have fun being a homeless guy. '' Alec said and moved a step to show he wanted to leave.
