Corah leaned over the bar top in the area where the wait staff gathered, rubbing her temples. Although it was only eight o'clock and she had two hours left of her shift, she had a nasty headache. A particularly annoying group of tourists came in, being overly picky and leaving a bad tip. Corah did the best as she could to be friendly, but with a batch like that, she was very close to losing her last nerve. Taking in a deep breath, she went and got herself a glass of water. She had forgotten her purse at home, so her ibuprofen was out of reach. Letting out a soft yawn, she put her hands in the pockets of her maroon apron, looking at her section to see if any of the customers needed help.
Now things were pretty slow, but with the Fourth of July coming up, they would be packed from now until the middle of the week. Corah was never a fan of holidays, just because they meant extra work. Her other jobs weren't so bad, but at a restaurant, especially here at The Lodge, the customers could get rowdy. Thank god she didn't work at the bar. One thing she was thankful for was the fact that she could dress casually to work. Her jeans and black t-shirt was her uniform, nothing fancy. She even got to wear heels, which was a plus, even if she did go home with sore feet.
Corah looked out the window, noticing the last traces of sunlight disappearing. For some reason, when it got dark here she felt unsafe. It was most likely irrational, she had never ran into anything dangerous in the forest. The only thing that really bothered here was her boss at the stables, Demetri. He always gave her a chilled feeling. It was almost instinctual...like there was danger present and she needed to be careful. Soon moving her thoughts to something else, Cory didn't want to get caught up in thoughts about supernatural things. At the smallest mention of ghosts or creatures like vampires or werewolves, she felt sick to her stomach and light headed.
The main dinner rush was over, and Corah was soon assigned to take over the hostess' job for a little while. The one who was supposed to be coming in for her shift was running late. She actually liked playing hostess, talking to the people as they waited to be seated. As outgoing as she was, Corah hadn't made a whole lot of close friends since she was in Forks. Granted she had only been there for three and a half months, it was a bit hard to meet people. Especially when she was so busy with work. She looked down at the floor plan of the restaurant, checking what booths and tables were open. As she was doing this, the bells on the door clanked together, signifying a new customer was coming in. Corah looked up and smiled, grabbing a menu as she waited for the person to come in.
She would most likely be playing their hostess and waitress tonight. This made her chuckle softly as she adjusted the menu in her arm. Her eyes flitted over the reservation list, although it was rare for people to actual reserve a table, it happened. Tonight the list was completely empty. It was a Friday night, and all of those coming in in about an hour were planning to drink, not eat. As she glanced down, she realized she had left Liam's dog tags over her shirt and tank top. With a quick motion, she tucked it back under. Ever since she had found them about a week ago, she couldn't bring herself to put them back in the box. Swallowing against the familiar lump in her throat, she felt the outline of the metal. She was making progress, but she needed to feel connected to him somehow. Even if it was wearing his dog tags.

Lucy was hungry as she walked into the Lodge, She was deep in thought it had been an additional week since had discovered and she had been looking things up on a website. She got to the door and she imagined what life would be like if by some miracle she made it to week 13. Right now she was nearly 7 weeks. She looked at the waitress "Hello, I didn't want to just sit in a random place." she said
She wasn't really sure what to say, she didn't want to be rambling and seem odd around new people, but she always felt more at ease around seth, that was because Seth knew what she needed when they were together she just wished that he wasn't patrolling so much hopefully since Quil was back Seth would patrol less. Her mind wandered as she felt herself being lead to a table. She wished she make it through one day without her mind wandering.
She placed her hand on her stomach she knew she was only month in but she was trying her best to not miscarry because she really wanted this baby. even it meant struggling to make sense of life she still had most of her money. and Seth was the only one who knew about the money. She had settled quite easily into life in La Push. She looked around trying to think of a decent conversation without sounding like a nut "So Miss, are you new to the area? I've only technically lived in washington for about 8 months." she trying to act normal but at times it was difficult due in large part to the fact that she found herself wondering how many vampires were living in this small town.
She wondered if Police Chief Swan acted in an alliance with the with Jake's Pack, since Seth had told her that Jake had told the man about Bella. After she had been shown to a table she took her purse and stuck it in under her chair. She plated nervously with her bracelet she hoped she didn't look over dressed she had put on a bangle bracelet with tshirt and shorts, she had so many bracelets and she hardly remembered to wear any of them. She hated having sensitive wrists she could only wear certain things. She had really pretty bracelet given to her by her grandmother, but she couldn't wear it because gold made her wrists itch.
The young Blonde played with her necklace as she thought "What do you recommend to eat?" she asked. Lucy had never been in a place that had a bar before. She had always visualized places as being like the Blue Whale, in Collinsport, constant bar fights her father had taken her to the bar once when she was a child she had waited outside of course and she clearly remembered two men fighting one of which was her father. "sorry, again, i've never been in here before the only bar i have vague knowledge of is one my father went to once when i was a child." she explained to the other young woman. She hoped the other person didn't think she was weird. Then of course Lucy had always been paranoid people would call her odd. Anything was better than being That Collins Girl, she hated being seen as a Collins before being seen as Lucy, she had found herself in Washington. Seth, by some miracle, had accepted her as she was. That was in fact how she saw Imprinting, as a miracle.

Corah smiled warmly as the new customer came up to the hostess' podium. She figured it was just the girl, and she grabbed a menu, leading her back to the non-smoking section and sitting her in a booth. "I hope this booth is alright.I'm Corah, and I will be your server. What would you like to drink?"she said with a soft smile, placing the role of silverware in front of the girl along with her menu. Corah glanced down, noticing the girl had a hand on her stomach. Not the way a normal person would, like she was cradling it. She must be pregnant. It wasn't her place to intrude, and she wouldn't. That was just her being perceptive, noticing little things that others didn't. Corah was surprised at the slight twinge of jealousy she felt. She and Liam were supposed to... Corah stopped the thought before she could get overwhelmed, blocking it out and thinking of how her shift had gone earlier.
"So Miss, are you new to the area? I've only technically lived in washington for about 8 months.
" the girl asked. Corah nodded, the soft smile still on her face. " I am actually. I moved here about three and a half months ago from Pennsylvania. Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking." she said, flipping open her little notepad to get the girl's drink order. Corah looked out the window, noticing the rain start up again. It had been a nice day until now. " Right when you think you might have a nice day in Forks, it starts raining." Cory said with a soft laugh, shaking her head. " What do you recommend to eat?" she asked, and Corah brought her pen to her lip, thinking for a moment. She wasn't picky when it came to home cooking, and it was a bit difficult to pick some favorites. " Well, our special tonight is chicken potpie, all home made. I really like the pot roast and the fresh salmon is pretty good too. If you like pasta, they make a really good chicken alfredo too. " Corah said, naming a few different things to give some variety. Brushing a lock her raven black hair out of her face, Corah felt her free hand then go to the metal dog tags. She looked over at the other tables for a moment, making sure everyone in her section was good. As she moved her eyes back to the table, a realization hit Corah. Why should she hide Liam's dogtags? She was proud of him, wasn't she? Corah honestly didn't want to worry about the questions and people's sympathy, that was one of the reasons she left home. Yet again, a bit of sympathy would be nice. So would having someone to talk to the situation about. Corah gently lifted them from behind the fabric of her shirt, letting them be visible. She wasn't one to be needy, she considered herself an independent person but hey, everyone needed someone every now and then. Corah looked back at the girl, noticing she was a bit nervous. Was she alright? Corah saw her eyes looking directly at the bar section of the lodge, before her eyes were soon back on her. " Sorry, again, I've never been in here before the only bar I have vague knowledge of is one my father went to once when I was a child." the girl said, a bit nervously. " It's fine. I hadn't been around really been in one until I began working here." Corah said, making easy conversation. She hoped it wasn't too awkward for the girl, Cory was the type who could chat on for hours about the littlest things. Being a waitress really gave her the ability to meet new people and talk to them. If she only worked on at the stable, Corah thought she would go crazy from the lack of social interaction. Since she was new in town she didn't really know her way around, but lately she had been thinking a trip to Seattle would be nice. Lucy smiled at Corah "No a Booth is fine. I don't liek the glare, of natural light, from windows." she explained. That was true it wasn't just she didn't want to be seen she had always hated sitting by windows. In fact she had really stopped caring if anyone saw her, because she knew the one person who knew where she was would never tell her father. "Welcome to Forks." she smiled at the other young woman.
As she carefully went through Corah's responses to her questions she grinned "OOh Chicken Pot pie sounds perfect i wasnlt sure what i wanted. Do they have corn muffins i've been craving corn muffins." she blushed and covered her eyes "I hope that doesn't sound obnoxious. to answer your I was born in Maine, a small town called Collinsport. Left after i graduated from high school, four years ago." she said smiling at corah. "I hope i am not talking too much i just don't talk to too many people." she said, she sighed "I hope i parked the car straight enough. I only just got a driver's license and so i am not really good at parking yet." then of course experienced drivers weren't good at parking either.
"Maybe when I get something to go i will get alfredo. I have a rather sensitive stomach and I save things like that for when i am at home and no one else has to bare witness to what occurs." she said "I will have chicken pot pie, and a glass of orange juice." she was trying to drink less caffeine to have a healthy baby. Even though she wasn't that far alone she knew she was right. "is there anyway i can get some shredded choose on the side? sometimes i sprinkle cheese in pot pies." she said, she never had strange cravings she just found it was easier to ask for what she wanted to eat because she was going to have a baby.
Lucy looked at Corah, it was nice seeing someone that she didn't have to be near the high school to meet. she couldn't relate to teenagers when she was in high school. Not just because of her up bringing she never understood why teenagers did things they did. "If you ever need anything extra to do i volunteer once week at the daycare center. I love kids." she did love being around the kids. She always had the sense that sometimes the workers were a little too anxious to leave her alone with the kids for an hour. If they were cartoon characters there would be track of flames. She smiled "Sorry my mind was wandering that happens to me often." she said - - - - - -“talking”- - - - - -tag: Corah words: 464 Words outfit: click! notes: OSrry I took so long to reply. credits: this template was made by ele of caution 2.0 aka ellie or leelee ;; lyrics from the Broadway musical turned movie RENT.
