Rain. Scarlett didn't really mind the rain, there was just a lot of it here. One thing that was good about it, the moss made for more comfortable sleeping. Sure, it was wet sometimes, but most of the times the trees from the forest kept her pretty dry. Besides, she had her new rain coat. Well, it was new to her. She'd found it in a drop box, one of those that said “donations.” Okay, so she knew it was wrong to take something from a donations box, you were supposed to give things to the donations box, not take things, but she also knew that without a coat she'd probably freeze. Hello, this was Forks. She had also seen a flier with her picture on it. It had been months and still the guy who was supposed to be her father was claiming to want her back. He probably did want her back for that weird card that he had that he said the government put money on because he had her. Well she didn't care. He'd hurt her.
Just thinking about it made her hands go to the place between her chest and stomach where the broken glass had hit her skin and gone in. The stitches were still there because she hadn't been back to the doctor to get them out – she'd left before the neighbor had a chance to even ask about it. The bruises were gone though. She swore her body still felt sore, but that might be from sleeping under a nice big tree near the edge of the woods.
At the moment, Lettie was sitting on a bench at the park. She wondered if any kids would be coming to play since it was raining. It rained a lot in Forks, so that shouldn't keep them away. But she knew some parents, obviously not hers, were way overprotective and didn't let their kids do much. Even if it did rain like every single day.
Lettie sighed and twirled a lock of her hair around her finger, swinging her legs back and forth. Her jeans, even though partially covered by the pink panda rain coat, were beginning to get soaking wet.

As Rosalie was coming back from the mountains after that stupid grizzly bear had took her all the way up to the top, slowly she had been walking through the snow that happened to be on the mountains, the soft snow quickly turned into so wet grass, as she came to the forest she could hear that it was rain yet again in forks, I’m going to kill Alice for not warning me about the rain! shaking her head a little which coursed her to get her even more wet.
Walking a little further she then came to the clearing where she knew the forest passed by the park, and most often than not Rosalie always like to watch the children play. Bright golden eyes searched through the park to see if anyone was here, she gave a little sigh when she at first did not see anyone, but as she walked a little bit further, her golden eyes then saw a little child.
Making her way over towards the bench where the child was, even though Rose could smell the dampness of the rain. Stupid Forks has to rain! I’m still going to kill Alice! Oh well, I’ll just have to go shopping. Rose knew that she could not feel the cold but when she made half way over towards the little girl, cause that is when she finally got the scent that the little girl was a human, but after she had gotten control of herself she carried on. Hey sweetie. Where’s your mummy?
her voice was soft and calm despite all of the problems going on in her vampire life. tag: Scarlett word count: to lazy to count Notes: Your posty wasn't crappy at all. outfit: here

Scarlett's thoughts were directed toward a really pretty lady; suddenly the thoughts of the stitches still in her skin was the last thing on her mind. Intuition, though that's not what she called it, told he two things: one was that this lady was different and not like other people she'd meant, that she was supposed to be something that was scary, but the second thing contradicted with the first feeling and told her that this lady wasn't going to hurt her. Lettie blinked a couple of times. Sometimes the intuition that she'd been gifted with was really confusing. Though she didn't know it was a gift, she knew there was something different about her. She instinctively knew way more than she should have at her age. It was what had helped her escape her family when she was five. She'd turned six since leaving Mr. Numan.
“My mommy is in a big place with bars on the windows. The lady next door called it a prison.” Lettie stood up on the bench and tilted her head. “You're really pretty.” In true child fashion, Lettie was completely honest. “And you have funny eyes. I never seen yewwow ones. They're really cool.” She pointed to her eyes. “I don't have pretty ones. Mine are poopy brown.” She giggled and clapped her hands once. She could find humor in anything if she needed to, and she'd always thought her eyes were too dark – like an icky brown color, even though lots of adults told her she was one of the sweetest things they'd ever seen.
Lettie ran her fingers through her own dark hair, which was really dark compared to the lady's. Scarlett couldn't stop looking at the blond woman who had come up to her. She really was the prettiest person Lettie had ever seen. She didn't know why but that thought thrilled her. Maybe it was because Lettie was a child and just liked everything that was pretty. Or maybe it was her intuition again, telling her that this lady was going to be important to her. “Do you want to play with me? I like your hair. It's shiny and pretty even in the rain.” Lettie got on her stomach and slid off the bench, then frowned and touched the spot where her stitches still were under her clothes. “Ouch.” Her brown eyes found the lady's yellow ones. “The big hospital in Seattle sewed me up and didn't take the thread out, so it kinda hurts.” She nodded, like that was obvious even though the stitches couldn't be seen while she still had her coat on.

As Rosalie was getting soaked in the rain she was watching the little girl and she really wanted to get out of the rain. Rose could not help but give a little laugh, “How about we get out of the rain, and I take you to the hospital after you have had some change of clothes, and something to eat.”
she gave another friendly smile, even though Rose knew that she could not tell anyone what her she really was. Even though Rose was not a mum she always was and had been good with kids, no matter who’s the little child ever was. Rosalie could remember what it was like looking after Vera’s little boy Henry, and getting told that she was really good with kids. “You have lovely eyes sweetie. So what is your name? My name is Rosalie, but most call me Rose.” her voice was still calm even though Rose had heard a lot of what this little girl had said towards her. ” I would love to play with your sweetie, but how about we go inside and play? And Get you sorted out, before we play. Then I can take you to the doctors.” with a little smile on her face Rose slowly held out her hand waiting for this little girl to take a hold of it or not.

The little human child liked the blond lady. Her intuition was telling Scarlett that she was safe with this woman. Her intuition was never wrong. She might not feel as powerfully about someone sometimes, but when she got into trouble with people, it was usually her own fault. Lettie had a little habit of not following what her intuition was telling her sometimes. Sometimes her body was telling her that she shouldn't trust someone and if she ended up trusting them they would turn on her. So it would be her fault and she knew it, which sort of sucked.
“Will you stay when they take the stitches out? Is it gonna hurt?” Lettie frowned and looked at the ground. “I don't has an inside to play in. My inside house is in Seattle but I don't want to go back 'cause daddy hurts me.” Her lips turned into a pout. She was afraid of going back to Seattle and facing her dad. She knew he wasn't a good man and she was afraid of what he'd do if he ever found her.
Scarlett blinked a few times and looked at the park. “And I don't have any new clothes. I have some old ones in a bag in the woods. I sleep on them sometimes.” She brightened up a little bit. “Can we go back and get them before I have to see a doctor?” Lettie ran her fingers through her soaking wet hair and pointed toward the forest. “They're that way. They aren't very far.”

Rosalie just let a smile cross her face, it was strange for this vampire to be acting so nice towards kids, but she always did act nice and kind towards them, this little girl was getting to see the nice side of her, because children seemed to keep Rose quiet for a little while. Listing to what the little girl was saying towards her, she then spoke nice and calmly Don't Worry sweetie if you want me to stay with you when you have your stitches out.
Standing up from her kneeling down position as she waited for this little girl to speak, even though this blonde haired vampire kept looking around to see if there was any danger, she could not see any or hear any danger all this beautiful vampire could hear was the raining pouring down her hair. Well if you want to go and get your bag sweetie, we will of cause find somewhere inside to play. i know there is plenty of places that are inside to play around here. So are you ready dear? This vampire waited till this little girl was ready and she then spoke again towards this little child So do you have a name Sweetie?

Scarlett's face instantly lit up when the pretty blond lady told her that she would stay with her when she got her stitches out. Doctors scared Lettie ever since she was sent to the hospital for the gash in her abdomen that her father had caused with a broken glass bottle. Lettie played with her hair and began walking toward the forest, where she knew her things were waiting not far inside. The trees gave a little bit of shelter from the rain, but she would be happy to get inside a place that didn't have dirt as a floor. She knew she was probably a little dirty. She took a bath the other day in a puddle, but bathtubs weren't easy to come by in the woods. While she walked she blabbed on a bit about whatever ran through her mind at the time. The pretty lady had asked what her name was.
“Ohhhh. I'm Scarlett Numan. But my neighbor calls me Lettie. Dad called me Scar for a bit because now I'm gonna have a big scar from where I got cut. He's not a nice guy, that's why I got on the bus. Because he's mean and the girl who is s'posed to be my mommy is in a big building with bars on the windows so she can't get out because she was a bad lady. A car with blue and red lights on the top came and took her away.”
The human child picked up her things and started heading for the edge of the forest again where the park was. “What should I call you?” Her big hazel eyes looked up at the pretty blond woman who had come to play with her. “And where are we going to go?” She reached up with her free hand as a silent question for the lady to hold it.

Rosalie could not help a little smile appear on to her pale face, because she was having fun looking after Scarlett, it was very easy to see that this beautiful blonde haired vampire was enjoying giving more love to the little girl. While she walked to where the sweet little girl lead Rosalie to where she had left her bag, bright golden eyes watched as Scarlett came back towards her. Gently taking a hold of the little girls hand, Well sweetie, you can call me Rosie.
Hearing Lettie's next question though this beautiful vampire really did not know where she was going at first, she knew that she would have to make her mind up very quickly to get out of the rain. Well, I was thinking we could go to my house or the hospital first. It is up to you sweetie, but they are both a bit of a walk from where we are. her words were soft and calm towards Lettie, because she really did not want to worry the little girl. Is Carlisle on shift now? Is my dad at the hospital. I don't remember what he had told me. stupid vampire memory. Rosalie gave a smile towards Scarlett, because this beautiful vampire knew that she would have to tell her secret to Lettie, but in a strange way Rose was very glad and happy that it was raining in Forks, because she could at least cover up and delay in telling Lettie the real reason behind why she was cold. Would you like me to carry your bag?

Lettie laughed like only a little kid could. “Rosie, Rosie, Bo-Bosie, Banana fanna Fo-Fosie. Fee-Fie Fo Mosie. ROOOOSIE!” Her little kid voice sang out as they walked. The blond woman was really fun to be around and seemed to not mind that Lettie was a bit dirty. But she was excited about the idea of going to someone’s house, even if she was a little messy. Her hair was probably a little ratted from the rain, but she didn’t really mind. She just hoped no one would get mad at her for going into a house a little messy.
“We can go to your house?” She looked at the blond Rosie, her hazel eyes wide. “I’d like to go to your house. Do you live with other people? Are there kids like me? Are people going to get mad ‘cause I’m dirty?” She couldn’t help the string of questions that ran through her mouth. She was really curious about Rosie. She was the only person to ever invite her into a house, well, since getting on the bus from Seattle anyway.
The child looked at her bag and frowned. “It’s kind of dirty. It will get you all dirty.” She hugged her bag to her body with one arm, the other in the blond girl’s hand. Lettie looked at the bag and then at their joined hands. “Rosie, why is your hand so cold? Is it from the rain? Sometimes rain makes things cold. Or is it ‘cause the air is cold? You might get sick.”

Rosalie gave a smile towards the beautiful little girl who she know knew as Scarlett, even though this beautiful vampire was not that surprised about being asked why her hand was cold, Well I can't really say. Oh yeah, by the way your walking with a vampire. I would either get laughed off away, or more likely been thrown into a mad house. Not a good think to happen at all. I also hope that nobody is in the house at this moment.
Quickly turning her attention back towards Scarlett she then gave the answer towards the questions she had been asked, You don't need to worry about me sweetie, because we just need to sort you out first. Yeah it is just the air that is cold.
her lyrics were soft and calm, because she really did not want to lie but this vampire knew she had to tell Lettie the truth to keep her from knowing what she truly was. It was easy to see that Rosalie had walked almost to the end of the forest, as she looked out into the darkness, she then gave a quiet breathe in, as she did not get any recent scents of her family being in the house, So you ready Lettie? My house is just behind this forest.
