Fiere looked out the window of the cab she was in looking the forest, being on the move again. She had just found somewhere to find some dark brown contacts as she had been running low and now was making her way up north. How far north she was not sure. She was hoping to find somewhere where she could settle down for a period of time instead of moving here and there like she had been doing the last twenty-two years or so and trying to avoided places like New York, Los Angels and New Orleans where getting hard each day. She been mainly staying in small forests in abandon cabins trying to keep to herself out of trouble. Animals helped but there where only a few that went around, and it only took a few to say something was wrong.
As she got out of the cab outside the town sign, she looked around, thanking the man who asked if this was were she was going to stop here and not into town. She nodded and went her way with her bag over her shoulder. Watching the cab pull away she read the sign. Welcome to Forks. She began making her way into the small town in Washington watching the sky over head seeing it was eventually to rain. She kept walking as it seemed to relax her a bit, but not until she could see people. Her mouth began to water. No. She had to find a forest soon, and ducking out so no one could see, she headed off in the direction of the forest.
Making her way there she stopped catching the scent of either a deer or buck. Placing her bag down, she silently through the parts nearing a stream, where she spotted the family. Hating it, she attacked the biggest. It did not stand a chance and she drank.
Feeling the control now, she went back to her bag, and slipped it over her shoulder with a sigh until she heard movement in the trees behind her. She froze a second, then quickly turned around to see who had come around.

The work day had been way more than frustrating for Corah today. When she arrived at the stables, the feed barn's door had been open so most of the grain had gotten wet and she had to replace it all. Next, when she was riding one of the rider's horses to excersise it while he was on vacation, she nearly got bucked off thanks to a stray dog running into the arena. To top it all off, she had gotten kicked by one of the student's horses square in the knee, and then spent the afternoon at the ER. Luckily enough for her, the only injury she had was the black and blue bruising. Demetri had let her off work early, and she didn't have a shift at the lodge. Thank heavens.
After icing her swollen and colorful knee for nearly two hours, Corah became bored. She honestly had nothing to do for the next two days since the doctor advised her to rest. Would she honestly comply to his instructions? Probably not. She would go stir crazy if she stayed inside the house for too long. Without a doubt she was looking forward to being off of work, but she really didn't have anything major she had going on. Now that she was all moved in, life became more normal.
Corah's light green eyes were fixed on the window when she let out a soft sigh. It was a beautiful day, for Forks anyways. There were still clouds but they weren't covering the sky like a blanket like they usually did. Getting up from her place on the sofa was painful, but she eased it quickly by going and taking a couple of tylenol. That should do the trick. Once she wasn't hobbling around, her walk only tainted by a small limp, she headed outside. Was it dangerous for her to go out when she had just injured her knee? Yes, but she wasn't going to sit inside all day.
Corah followed the familiar, short path to the edge of the river. She smiled as the wind blew threw her long, raven colored locks. It was a beautiful day and despite her injured knee, she was enjoying it. As she went through the last patch of trees before the clearing where the river was, she saw a figure of a girl. Her eyebrows furrowed in curiousity as she approached, letting a small smile come to her face. She noticed the girl's surprised expression as she looked back at her. "Hi..." Corah said, confusion coloring her tone. It wasn't like the forest was her property, but she never saw anyone out here. When she did, it was someone who was hunting. The girl wore no safety cone orange colored garments and she didn't have a gun either. That was strange. Corah played with the hem of her shirt as she waited for the stranger's reply.Today just kept getting weirder and weirder.

The scent that the wind blew to her was astonishing, but after taking down a buck a mile or two away from here, Fiere no longer felt the need to hunt the new smell; especially the smell of a human. Human was not in her diet list. She continued to look around, and tucked a piece of loose hair behind her ear and looked around, listening to foot steps slowly approach to where she was standing. Who ever it was, Fiere was glad that she had literally just hunted. Animals didn’t always full-fill the thirst but it worked.
Hearing a voice behind her, Fiere turned quickly. It was a human, a young girl it look to be about. She seemed to have hurt her leg, but there was not any blood anywhere on her; that was good. They locked eyes. The voice in the back of Fiere’s mind said three things: ATTACK OR RUN. Didn’t this girl know it was not safe to be in the forest, especially this far off the real path? Fiere looked around the place and they seemed to be alone.
The girl seemed to have spoken first. Fiere tried not to seem to nervous, especially because being around humans always did. Play it cool. “Hello,” She had a bit of a southern Louisiana accent as she had been there for a couple years once in awhile, but it was not that much of one.
(Notes: Sorry its kind of short!)

Corah picked up on the girl's frightened and nervous nature as she spoke. This was very odd. It wasn't a smart idea to come out in the woods, off the path when it was close to sunset, but Corah knew the woods well. At least she thought she did. Brushing a lock of her raven black hair out of her eyes, Corah smiled softly despite her confusion. "Are you from around here?
"she asked, catching the slight southern accent. If she had ever had a weird conversation, this would certainly top it. Meeting a stranger in the woods. Hmm. The sun was beginning to set, the golden sunlight soon pouring through the clouds. Corah had to shield her eyes a bit from the bright sun, smiling. It was nice to see the sunset, often the day's light just faded quickly to darkness. As she moved to accommodate her sore knee, Corah bit her lip softly as jolt of pain spiked through her knee and through the rest of her leg. Maybe this wasn't the best idea, but it wasn't like she was going to fall over from it, the weight she put on it was something manageable. Looking around, Cory soon found a log to sit on. It was dry, and not too far from the girl. Feeling awkward, Corah played with the ring on her hand, a frequent habit. She looked over at the girl, wondering once more what she was doing in the woods. " I'm Corah, by the way, it's nice to meet you." she said, breaking the silence as she looked up from her feet. Slowly extending her leg out, Corah was glad that the pain didn't return. It her knee was nasty looking with the swelling and bruising, so she was glad that it was covered by her loose jeans. Normally, she was careful to avoid things like that but the horse was irritated. Corah knew that those things were inevitable, but she didn't like it. Yawning softly, Corah leaned against the log, taking a small leaf off of it and inspecting it. " I probably don't seem too friendly, sitting down and all" she said with a soft laugh. It was probably rude of her to sit down, but her knee hurt. " My knee has been bothering me since I got home from work. I figured a walk would help it, and it has. A bit." She said, looking over at the girls. She hadn't noticed her eyes till now, they were a light gold in color. They were beautiful, but strange. Corah wanted to ask about them, but she figured she shouldn't. She didn't want to seem more rude. This post is 444 words long, and is going to be joined by fiere!. My charrie is wearing this. Fiere continued to look around. Even if it was her first day in Forks, even if its been less then a day, this was her first person she has come into contact with. Well better sooner then later. Preferably later, but to late now. She swallowed the lump that had formed in the back of her throat, and shook her head at the girls question, before finally looking at her. “No…I’m not. I just got to town a couple hours ago,” she replied trying to find a way out of this trap she was backing herself into. She did not want to hurt this poor innocent girl. She wouldn’t be able to live with herself.
The fear of hurting someone would tear her up inside, and she thought maybe that’s why she was traveling north. To maybe find help along the way. To meet someone who understood. Watching the girl carefully she wondered what she was doing out here anyways. In the woods? Alone? For a girl who looked smart she apparently didn’t seem so.
“Fiere. Fiere Knightly.” she replied. Yeah this would be slightly better if this was another vampire. Watching her, she got a vibe. “Hows your leg? I mean you seem to be in pain?” she replied not helping her instinctive of possibly wanting to help. She did however remained where she stood.
“Its alright. Understandable…..what happened? If you don’t mind me asking.” They seemed to lock eyes for a moment, but then Fiere looked away. She had not had the chance to put the fake contacts in. She pretended like something was bothering her eyes and wiped away somewhat.

"No, I'm not..I just got to town a couple of hours ago" the girl said, and Corah fought to keep her expression relaxed as she nodded in response. In the forest after she just got into town, didn't she know how easy it was to get lost in these woods? Ignoring the urge to say something, Corah stretched out her sore knee, the sensation actually not hurting as much as it had previously. That was just too odd. New people usually didn't go into the forest at all, but off the trail? Corah only did because she knew her way back. Once again she ignored the urge to say something. If she needed help back, she would help her but hey. She was never the type to intrude.
"Fiere. Fiere Knightly
" she said. Hmm, a unique name. Corah smiled once again, adjusting herself on the log. This was certainly the oddest way she had ever met someone " Well, welcome to Forks."she said, her voice filling the silence once again. The sun was still shining through the woods, lighting everything. It'd be this way for a little while longer before it turned too dark to see. Although she hadn't been in Forks for too long, she knew how quickly the rare sunlight faded away. She did miss the sun, despite how much she happened to like rain. " Oh, it's doing better. It still hurts, and the swelling has gone down but still. " Corah said, frowning slightly as she looked down at her swollen knee. You could even see that it was abnormal through the fabric of her jeans. Corah let out a soft laugh, shaking her head. " I don't mind. I got kicked by one of the horses I groom, right in the knee. I got two days off of work for it, but I'd rather the pain just go away..."she said, gingerly rubbing it. The pain had subsided for a bit but it was seeping back into her sore knee little by little. " I work at the stables here in Forks." Corah said, looking back at the girl. " If you don't mind me asking, what brought you here to Forks?" she asked, running her hand along the seam of her jeans. She had caught her accent and was just simply curious. Fiere kept her eyes on the girl after awhile, so far so good. She wondered still what this girl was doing into the woods, especially since the sun was setting fast. “Thank you…I’m sorry but I don’t think I caught your name?” she asked. She made her away a little closer to the girl and took a seat in time. She figured she would be almost okay because she had just hunted, and there was only one of this girls kind around. At least she hopped so. As Fiere sat there she sound hear and mentally think of the blood that rushed through this girls head. No, she wouldn’t do this. She would not hunt any human, or worse kill, or worse take this girl’s soul.
She nodded a bit listening. “Nice. Well I hope it gets better soon,” she replied, responding to her knee. Something Fiere wouldn’t miss, as she was not a fan of physical pain. It sort of set her off over the edge a little bit; which she avoided very well and did not account often. “Just coming through….I like to travel…” she replied. This was truthful. She really liked it here and hoped to settle down, maybe. The chances of that though was slim as there seem, the scent lead to, there were many vampires in the area to begin with.

Corah noticed the girl getting closer, glad that she felt at least a bit comfortable. It was a bit strange for her to be in the woods after just getting here. Corah looked over at the girl, taking in her features before smiling softly. "I'm Corah, Corah Jackson. "she said smiling a bit wider. It was nice to have company, and also someone to help her if she couldn't get back to her house with her bum knee. Of course she wouldn't want to just depend on this new girl like that, so Corah would try her hardest to not let off any signs of pain. She stretched it out a bit more, wincing slightly but the motion wasn't as painful anymore. Good, that meant the next two days she had off work wouldn't be complete agony. The only thing she really had to worry about was going up and down the stairs to her bedroom. Luckily only her bedroom and a small bathroom were upstairs, her full bathroom and everything else was on the first floor.
Corah would probably just sleep on the pull-out bed on her couch for now. It wasn't comfortable, but it worked for this situation. "Thank you, I do too. It feels better already, though. " she said with a nod. It was the truth, and Corah was glad she didn't have to lie about it feeling better. It really did feel better and that was a very welcome relief. Corah nodded at her comment, a smile growing on her face. "I like to travel as well. I actually came from back east, too. " she said laughing softly. Maybe she would be making a new friend with Fiere. Corah was more than happy to do so, she knew what it was like being in a new town by yourself and not knowing anyone.

Fiere nodded. “Well it is nice to meet you,” she replied not realizing how her small Louisianan accent sticking out ever so slightly. Not a moment too soon however, something in her gut told her that someone was near. That or either coming, when she couldn’t be so sure. Who or whatever it was sent a chill down her spine, if that was even possible. She began to look around ever so casually hoping a surprised visitor(s) would not show up any time soon, not with a human here. Looking at Corah she simply smiled a small smile as if nothing was wrong. “So…” she replied looking away at the ground. “Sorry, I hate silences when it comes to more then one other person around.”
It felt weird but she was glad she could hold herself back to the sweet scent of this girls blood. “I don’t know about you, but I think we should getting going. Its starting to get dark and one never knows what could be out here after hours…” she replied, getting up. “Do you have time to hang out in town? Maybe we can get to know each other?”

"It's nice to meet you too, even under odd circumstances." Corah said with a soft laugh, feeling more at ease now. It was nice to meet new people, and she wasn't going to complain about where. Corah ran her fingers through her raven locks, smoothing out the small kinks at very end. She needed to get a haircut soon, it had been quite a while. Maybe she'd do something different this time. Of course she'd never go far from her natural black, but maybe some highlights or something would do. Looking back over at Fiere, she smiled softly at the awkward silence and nodded in agreement to her statement. "Oh, don't worry I'm the same way. " she said moving her hands to rest in her lap.
Corah looked up at the sky as Fiere talked, noticing that the sky was now a darkening greyish blue. "I agree with you, I haven't been out here after dark but I don't think I want to. " she said, looking down at her knee in discontentment. Hopefully it wouldn't hurt too much when she stood up. Resting her hands behind her on the log to support herself, Corah took in a deep breath. She pushed herself upwards, wincing as she stood on her knee. Biting her lip, she walked a few steps, easing the pain. It wasn't as bad now. She looked over at Fiere and smiled, walking closer to her. "Yeah, I do. I'm off work for the next two days so that sounds good. " Corah said with a smile. "Where would you like to go? Forks isn't the biggest town but we do have quite a bit of things to in town. " She said, walking past her to lead her to the path that lead back to her house. It would be good to make a new friend.

Odd circumstances? Well, yes, it was a bit odd meeting here in the forest; espically for Fiere, as she just arrived an hour or so ago. “Yeah…” she smiled a little, with a small fake laugh. Smooth, Fiere. Real smooth, she thought to herself, as she dug her worn black converses into the ground, slightly. She nodded, glad she was not alone in that sense. She swallowed at the dryness in her mouth. Oh no… she thought, looking away, fighting the thirst that suddenly came to her. Fiere, she clinched her fists in her pocket, trying to fight it, fighting the feeling of thirst.
"I agree with you, I haven't been out here after dark but I don't think I want to. " Fiere nodded in agreement. She was not scared, as what person would be out here at this time of night. She would know if they were a mile or so away. One perk of being a vampire, she supposed. Fiere began to follow the human slightly a step back or two, thirst inching, inch by inch. “I actually should be getting back to my friends house. I’m staying temporarly…” she felt bad because this girl seemed so nice. “You know, to un-pack and such…. But maybe we could hang out tomorrow or sometime?”
