Times have changed. People have changed too. However I have not. But have you? Something did not feel right to Fiere, as she walked on a unmarked trail, through the forest. She had a gut feeling that something was coming, but she did not know what it was. She attempted to swallow the dryness that consumed her mouth and throat as she looked around. The young vampire looked around, hoping to get a scent of an animal. Her golden brown eyes turned a black color. A color for thirst. Maybe hunting, despite her hatred for it, would help clear this unwanted feeling she was now getting. Fiere began her hunt off the unbeaten path, and has a slight breeze blew her hair, she caught a scent. She sped through the trees until she found the buck and his family through the trees. She sighed silently and sadly and attacked the biggest one there, drinking until she was full. Her golden eyes once again replaced her black ones. After she cleaned up, she looked at the mess of the dead buck she left, and feeling a bit broken she began her walk alone through the forest. She made her way, seeing a bit of light though the trees a head. The sun looked like it was setting. She ran a hand through her dark colored hair and made her way through finding a small opening. The full moon was already begging to light the place around her. Walking through she saw a small lake, surrounded by fireflies, and made her way over to it. Moonlace seemed to be around the place by the bunches, and as she sat, she looked down as she sat by it, she saw her reflection. Taking one look, her pale skin and bright eyes, she quickly splashed the image she saw away, and looked up at the sky.

Memories swirled, flashed, and danced before his very eyes. That night, being unable to relax, for whatever reason, he had pulled on his coat and waltzed out the door. He was apprehensive as he pulled his collar up and jammed his hands into his pockets. He was trying his best not to jump each time a shadow slithered past him. By nature, he was jumpy. He was set on feeding, so it wasn't about the hunt that night. No, he needed air.
Jogging through the dense, forest foliage, he seemed at peace with himself or rather, he was at peace until he caught wind of a very, familiar scent. Fiere, the same woman that hated his guts. Of course, being the guy he was, he wanted to say hello. He changed his course and headed toward her. "'Lo, miss. You lost or somethin'?" He asked quietly, trying to pass off as a wandering human.

Times have changed. People have changed too. However I have not. But have you? Part of her did not even want to give him the light of day. After what he did to her, why should she. But being the type of person she was, she decided she let him explain if he could. For Fiere, she believed that in spite of everything, people were still good at heart. She was, in away, something along the heart of the young Jewish girl Anne Frank. Everyone deserved a second chance in there life, even if they were not really alive. If she were him, she would want a second chance herself. Fiere was, however, a little hesitant but did not let it show. What if he lied through his teeth. That was not a problem for her, as she could tell a liar a mile away, and she hated liars. It was the one quality in anyone that she hated more than anything. When he gestated that she sit, she sat down on a stump, near the water, not taking her eyes off him. Fiere did noticed one thing about him, that she had never realized before. He seemed nervous, hesitant himself. Usually when she felt him near, she always got a strange nervous feeling in the pit of her stomached seem to edge away slowly. It took her off guard as he spoke, with what she caught was sadness in his voice. So like always, or almost always, turning had been a mistake. She looked away from him, as he seemingly read her mind. On the contrary, I never really had anything that mattered, she thought. So in truth, he did not take away anything that she did not have before. Her arms that had been crossed against her chest, now slowly relax, and her hands landed in her lap. She kept herself half hidden behind her hair. Physically she was find, emotionally she was hurting inside. Something she had not felt for the longest time, and the sound in his voice did not help it. Back in the day about when she was growing up, yes. That would be considered stalking. But for some reason…that did not bother her. Yes it would have been a stalker when she was a teen too, but that was like forty-one years ago. Now, it was just sweet. She never really had anyone look over her like this. No one. In her entire life. She wanted to say thanks, but something held her back. A voice in her mind yelled at her, telling her she was crazy. No possible way you are falling for a complete stranger who practically wanted you dead….but he was being protective. Something that I always wanted. To be wanted….not to be wanted as this! But it is the principle of the thing. She seemed to be arguing with herself. At least you had parents…would you stop thinking negatively? Why? Because your me, I’m you, get over it. It was a long time ago and its made you stronger. Yeah but…no buts. He had ran. Like she did, most likely feeling the except same way as she did when she was turned. She continued to hide a bit behind her dark brown hair, but in spite of how she was feeling, she push it back out of her eyes. Fiere kept her eyes down, no longer filled with anger, but still full of hurt. See he is a monster. He did the same thing to you what happened to him. He ran. Maybe but you ran too. I was scared…so was he. Seemingly as he talked and explained, she was still have this small debate in her mind about what to do, and say and what not to do. It was not fair to both of them that this had happened. Her head told her to just move and get away from here, her heart and gut told her to stay, to even go to him. It was just to confusing her. She had a feeling but was fighting. Because of the stress in her mind, but now she would be crying. She did not handle stress well, but over the years, she never really had to handle anything like this. No stress, no worries, no foul. He spoke of her, not wanting to believe what she was hearing. She was in shock. Never in her life or wildest day dreams did this even occurred to her. She finally, after all the time he spoke, she looked up at him. She wanted to say something, but she could not find the words to say. As he stood and offered his hand, nothing seemed to hold her back as she shakingly took it and stood. Fiere may have been strong hearted and could be a bit stubborn, but she was also kind hearted and naive, much as she had been growing up. That was why she always found herself alone. She couldn’t find herself to leave now that everything seemed to be explained. “More like a moth to a flame?” she was her first reply in awhile, looking down at her free hand. A fire or spark or two had come off it, but it was not anything major and went away quickly as it had come. She sighed, and put a hand gently to his face. “Alex…I…I’m so sorry. I never meant to…” she sighed again and looked away for a moment. “And how do you expect me to leave after what you just said…” She couldn’t move, and if she could, she could not make herself move. Words: 925! Notes: Yeah was not planning on it to be this long! Most of it is her thinking and dialog. But you set me up for it! xD Hope it was okay! <3

Gently, he grasped her hand, pulling her toward him. "'Tis not safe out here, miss. Name's Alexander Hellsing.." He murmured while backing her slowly against a tree. Oh, this brought back memories. This was exactly how he had turned her. His hands pinned her arms above her head as a grin touched his lips.
"Now, Fiere..will you just listen to me? I never got a chance to explain, considering you slapped me and ran.." His lips brushed along her collarbone in the same spot where his fangs had pierced so long ago. It sent chills down his spine, and he hoped she didn't notice. "Please..I'm a changed man, really I am.." He sighed and shook his head.
"Please..I don't ask for much. I just want five or ten minutes of your time.." How did he explain when he didn't exactly have a plan in mind? It wasn't like he was a genius that could come up with a solution on the spot. Oh well..he'd go with the flow, if nothing else. "Just..please.." He had been forced into a corner so he began to beg and plead. words --- 185 tagged --- Fiere Knightly outfit --- here! template --- PANIC! ITS LAUZ @ CAUTION notes --- Slowly improving! Times have changed. People have changed too. However I have not. But have you? A lexander Hellsing. She knew that name. She did not even have to hesitate the fact that she knew that name. The fact that now held her hand as she tried to leave took the girl completely off guard. It did not help that when he did this, flash backs of that night weaved into her mind. Death all around, that of the night she should have been dead as well. Fiere did not want to look into his eyes, and did everything in her power not to. She believe that the eyes were the windows to the soul; even if vampires did not have a soul, she believe that they did. Now that she was somewhat pinned against the tree, everything seemed to be in flash forward. Usually by now she would have ran, and she could run now, except now her legs felt like lead. As his lips brushed her neck, she froze. This was not really happening. Of course she wanted to know why this had happened to her and what was going to happen, after all those years, but in away she didn’t want to. When he mentioned she slapped him, she couldn’t help but smirk a bit, but then turned serious. “What did you expect I do? Run into your arms, tell you I’m yours and we would live happily ever after?” of course she was using a bit of sarcasm in the way she spoke. “I was scared. I…I didn’t know what was going on or what I was doing.” Fiere still refused to look at him. If she was human, she knew water works was a few seconds away. She allowed hair to fall in front of her brown, now golden eyes as her contacts faded. He seemed determined at least just to talk. Fiere finally managed to pull away from him. “You want to talk after twenty-two years?” she sighed, and crossed her arms. It did bother her, but maybe after some answers she could ‘live’ in peace. No pun intended. “Fine. I’m listening.”

With a soft sigh of relief, he released his hold upon her. "...Thank you." He murmured, gesturing for her to take a seat as he rocked back and forth upon his heels. His golden-hued gaze became distant as he began to get lost in the woes of the past. "Oi..I don't even know where to begin. Things were much simpler in what some now call the Soviet Union." He mused, albeit to himself more than to the girl.
"Turning you was a mistake, and I'll be the first to admit it. I can't imagine the hell you went through, but I can tell you that I know the general feeling of hopelessness, of despair. The physical pain isn't the worst. The worst part, contrary to popular belief, is realizing that you'll outlive all that ever mattered.." He hesitated, struggling to think of the proper phrasing. "In truth, after being trapped in such a shell, I grew quite lonely with only the birds and the bees to converse with and let me tell you, they don't kid around when it comes to laying the beat down on some, poor sap." He chuckled quietly at his own joke, daring to steal a glance at her.
For a time, he simply admired her. She was indeed heaven on the eyes and hell on the heart. He ran his fingers through his hair, trying to figure things out a couple things before continuing his awkward but heartfelt speech. Even a blind man could tell that the seemingly, young man meant each and every word that tumbled past his lips. "So..I saw you and for several days, I kept tabs on you. Some would call that a stalker, yes?" He queried with a light tilt of his head and of course, he was uncertain about the way the world worked these days.
"Personally, I call that being protective." Again, he chuckled, albeit to himself. "Yes, your fate was to fade into oblivion, but I wanted to break fate's icy clutches. Much like I have done to you, the same as happened to me. In the period of what some may or may not call mortality, I was public enemy number one. I went by phantom, ghost, incognito bandito, diablo, Alex, and Alexander, depending on how close I allowed others to get." Blast it all, he was babbling, but he wasn't fishing for a reason to justify his actions.
He gestured idly with his hands. "My parents were both similar in their choice of..occupation. Obviously, they never caught me. After my crimes had ended, they simply assumed I was dead, which I quite preferred." He faltered but just momentarily. "..I had a woman whom was quite enamored with me and one night, under the cover of stars, she turned me by accident, and I ran." He shrugged, glancing toward the ground as his bangs fell before his eyes.
"..So yes, my intentions were good, but the way I handled it was misguided. That night..even as I stood before you..I had my doubts, and I knew it was wrong, but I couldn't think a world should be robbed of such a rare, young woman. You had the brains, the gumption to defend yourself, the morals to stand up for what you believed in, quite the fiery temper, a sense of elegance that far surpassed what I had ever seen in a human and somehow, you also had the charm to allure me from my darkened existence, the mere hatred and self-loathing that came with what I am and whom I used to be.." He sighed, sinking to the ground as he tilted his head back to gaze toward the sky. "After I had turned you, and I saw the hatred in your eyes, I knew that I had chosen the wrong path so I fled. In many ways, I'm still the coward that I was back when I was first turned.." The last sentence was a little less than audible and filled with such self-loathing that his eyes involuntarily flickered back to the ground.
He brought his hand up slightly to offer his hand to her as he slowly stood. "Truly, I am not a bad man. I turned you because..well, I was naive. Yes, I did want that fairytale ending with you. I..wanted to be the knight on the white steed that saved the princess from the fiery pits of the dragon's den." He hesitated, offering a small yet hesitant smile. What was he doing..besides going mad, that is.
"..Every time I look at you, Fiere Knightly, I see something new and no matter how hard I try to resist it, it draws me in like a moth to a light or a fly to pie, if you will." Straightening up, assuming she had taken his proffered hand, he dusted off his jeans and rubbed the back of his head. "...I will never be able to atone for my actions or the wrongs I have committed, but I can tell you that I'd much rather be your friend than an enemy, whom you seek to destroy." Again, he glanced toward the ground in a vain attempt to regain his composure. Before he knew it, another phrase tumbled past his lips. "Now..if you wish to leave, I won't stop you.." Even if it killed him, he would allow her to take her leave. words --- 893 tagged --- Fiere Knightly outfit --- here! template --- PANIC! He offered her a tight-lipped smile as he averted his gaze. Slowly, he lifted his own hand and held it against hers. "Fiere..how can I expect you to forgive me if I cannot forgive myself?" His query was gentle with an underlying tone of anger, which was probably directed more to himself than to her. What the hell had he been thinking that cold and lonely night? More or less, he had been seeking a companion. After he had screwed up and ran away for the second time in his pathetic existence, he wormed his way into hiding and stayed there for many years like a scared bird whose wings have been clipped.
In many ways, even if his heart no longer beat, he knew it would probably be going a hundred miles a minute. These feelings of self-loathing hadn't really resurfaced until he found her alone in the dark. It reminded him of the night that he had turned her, of the dead silence that surrounded them when not even a cricket had chirped. "Truthfully.." He ventured, hesitating slightly. "I would have been just as happy to die an old man, surrounded by the treasures of my crimes.." He pursed his lips, sliding his free hand into his back pocket.
Even with his golden-hued gaze averted, he seemed distant, pensive even. He felt that gentle lull that came with wanting to curl into a hole and shield oneself from the storm of bad decisions or rather, the haunted memories that came with the bad decisions. He still held her hand against his face, his own posture seeming to relax. "'Twas not my intention to harm you, Fiere.." He spoke quietly, much like a hushed whisper of sorts. "My intentions were actually quite the opposite.." He informed her with the same, awkward unease that had been in his voice since he had requested that she allow him the chance to explain.
He could have just turned and walked away but once he knew it was her, he felt like it was time to admit what he had done aloud and why, although he never once allowed a lie to be brought forth into the conversation. "I am very sorry, my darling flame.." He murmured, finally lifting his free hand to brush her hair away from her face. It was in that moment that he turned toward her and smiled his first, genuine smile, granted it probably appeared more like a grimace, considering he hadn't ever been one for showing his emotions in an appropriate manner. Usually, if he couldn't take it, he ran like a coward, attempting to flee from his problems. In doing so, he was both naive and self-destructive. Either way, he was making an effort to get back on the right foot with the girl.
"You haven't done anything wrong.." He murmured, lowering both arms so that they could wrap loosely around her torso and pull her into a gentle embrace. "It was I whom wronged you. Your anger is more than understandable, and I even accept such anger, considering what I did all those years ago.." Still, he was honest. He had been expecting her to turn and walk away either in the beginning or once his long-winded explanation had reached its turbulent conclusion. All in all, her reaction was both unexpected and good or rather, it was good for him.
It provided him with the hope he needed to try and mend what he had broken and perhaps, help it to bloom into something more. Lowering his head, he allowed his lips to brush along her temple. "Fiere..I hope that we may be able to put the past behind us and become more than frenemies, yes?" His brow quirked lightly with amusement. The situation wasn't amusing at all, but he wasn't sure what to think of the current emotions that ran through his entire being, tugging at each and every heart string. What was wrong with him, anyways? Well, beyond the obvious, of course.
A part of him wished that she'd just forget all of it within that moment. "I know I screwed up my chances with you, little flame, but I hope this will not prevent us from getting to know one another. I'm not a bad man..really, I'm not." After lifting one hand, he put his finger beneath her chin, gently lifting her head so her eyes met his. "I promise to never abuse you or your trust again. If nothing else, I wish only for your safety and happiness." A happiness he would help her to achieve at the cost of his own existence, no matter how much he may or may not have liked the mere thought of it. words --- 783 tagged --- Fiere Knightly outfit --- here! template --- PANIC! Times have changed. People have changed too. However I have not. But have you? All of this seemed nothing more then a fairy tale itself. This kind of thing only happened in the books, or at least she thought so. It was hard for Fiere to think something like this could ever happen to her. True she felt broken, mind anyone she has felt this way since she was born. Never having a family, moving from foster home to foster home. Never finding a place or anyone to be with for a period of time. Fiere let off a soft silent sigh as emotion after emotion seem to build up. Un-easiness and confusion about the whole situation, anger about being turned anyways, sadness for never finding that one place to belong or who to belong with, sympathy as knowing the feeling it comes to, and who knows what else she was feeling. She let whatever she was feeling the most spill out over her tongue. “Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future…Paul Boese, a Dutch botanist said that…and I agree. True these past several years as bothered me. I should have stayed for an explanation. But at the time since I had always been on my own…I guess since I never fit in anywhere and never had anyone, I guess I just got scared and over whelmed,” she replied truthfully, feeling herself look away again. It was usually not any intention to harm someone. Unless someone DID want to hurt another, then that person must be a true monster. Being her naïve, kind self, Fiere hated seeing others in pain. That meant even now with Alexander here, seeing the sadness and pain in his eyes, hurt her more than normal. Why? Even she had no idea. She felt she had a million words to say, yet when she wanted to speak not one of them came out, so she thought it was her none-beating heart and head trying to speak at once, maybe telling her that there maybe nothing left to say. Today was officially a fairytale. Something that did not happen on a daily bases. The stars shines brightly with the moon off the lake they were standing by. It was simply enchanting. Fiere was not the type of girl that got worked up about the scene of beauty and romance. It never happened to her in her life, and if it did, she did not recognize it. Karma again really was not something she believed in, but now she was not so sure. Fiere was not sure if she should look up or not, but she couldn’t make herself leave now like she wanted too about ten or so minutes before. “Maybe not. But I should not have ran from you that night. At least not until I knew why…it was not until a week later, that I regretted leaving. I asked myself, what did I do wrong? To deserve this? I always wondered…but now…” she shrugged lightly. It was all true. Maybe if she hadn’t had run those twenty-two years ago, maybe she finally would have been able to be with someone, and not alone like the previous nineteen years of her life. She was not expecting him to embrace her, but she could not help herself from wrapping her arms around him as well. It had been years, practically forever, in her whole life, since she had received something like this. Again, she wanted to cry. Fiere simply nodded. It was not the fact that she was not speechless, but more of the fact that she was not sure what to say or do with all of this new emotion and information. He had meant to save her out of everyone else. Even maybe saving her from herself, even if she did not think she needed to be saved. In her own crazy mind and way, it made since. Fiere had never been the strongest person, until after she stayed on her own. Her golden eyes did not want to leave the ground. Whether she was still somewhat confused and afraid, only her mind could justify. She closed her eyes for a moment. For the first time in her entire life, she felt…in somewhat strange in a complete way. "I hope it would not…I would really like that,” she admitted. In truth she wondered what would happen next. As he lifted her head so that their eyes meet, she couldn’t help but open her eyes once more; her golden eyes looking into his. At his words, she couldn’t help but melt inside thinking, this really can’t be happening. Can it?Words: 765
