Corah had been in Greece for only one short week and she already loved it. The warm weather was nice compared to the constant overcast days in Forks. Things had been crazy since Chris had saved her from her...well, violater, two weeks ago. She had found out all about the world of vampires, and just what they were like. Although she had taken a while to adjust to it, it was just something she had to accept. She was going to be living in their world for the rest of her life, if not for eternity. The biggest shock came to Corah when she became violently ill four days after Chris had saved her. By some weird twist of fate, she had become pregnant with the vampire's baby. This was the oddest thing of them all, and as she recalled, she nearly fainted. Now she had grown used to the odd fact that the baby inside of her grew at an alarmingly fast rate. It was bigger than normal human babies, and it would be ready to be born in a little over a month and a half. Corah figured she had about a week or so left.
Although Corah was still terrified of becoming a mother to a half human half-vampire child, she had warmed up to the idea. From what Chris had told her, it wasn't too common. Corah had just moved on from thinking too much about it, focusing on how to keep herself and her child healthy. Corah wrinkled her nose as she laid in her bed, having just woken up from a nice nap. She was a lot more tired than usual lately, blaming it on the baby. He had her drink the nastiest liquid everyday, but he said it was healthy for the baby. It tasted like cherry koolaid with rust and salt in it.
Corah looked out the window of the castle, looking over the castle grounds to the nearly purple water of the ocean. It was beautiful here, but she did miss Forks. She was glad that she didn't have to pretend she was dead, her parents knew that she was in Greece with a 'new job'. Sighing softly, she got up out of her bed, walking slowly to the window. She had grown so much already, from her measurements she was about 28 weeks along. Her ribs ached from it's kicking, but taking from Chris' cryptic explanation, the liquid helped her feel better but not make the baby be too strong. Whatever that meant. Looking out the window, she felt it kick her again. That was such an odd feeling. Taking in a deep breath of the sea air, Corah thought about everyone at Forks. She hadn't had the chance to grow really close with people, but it was nice getting to meet them.
Corah moved away from the window, going to her dresser to get something more appropriate to wear outside. As long as she told Chris where she was going, she was free to go most anywhere on the castle grounds. She felt like going outside, walking along the beach, maybe even wading in the water for a bit. After picking out a pair of shorts and a short sleeved shirt, Corah moved over to her bed to change. It was a bit hard maneuvering around with growing belly, but she managed somehow. Glancing over at the mirror, Corah gasped and moved her hands off the shirt's hem in shock. Her pale skin was covered in blue and black bruises, something she hadn't noticed before. This was weird. Chris had said it was strong but...this strong?! Feeling her heart rate speed up, Corah took a deep breath and hesitantly moved the hem back down over her belly. After sliding into her shorts, she went to the mirror again, lifting up her shirt and gingerly touching the bruises, she panicked. What had he been keeping from her?
Corah pulled the hem back down, going over to her bed and spraying on a bit of perfume before tidying up her sheets and pillows. She couldn't really roll around like she used to before she was pregnant so she mostly stayed in the same place during the night. This was getting to be too much...what else did she need to know about what would happen to her body? She hoped Chris was near by. In an effort to calm herself down, Corah went over to her desk and pulled her leather bound journal out of the drawer. She began to write in it, her handwriting scrolling across the page in blue ink. It was a good thing she had this, she would go crazy without it. After she finished writing, she took a deep breath. No use in getting all worked up. After putting it back, she got up, determined to go find Chris and finally get some answers from him.

He had brought her home only a week after he had saved her from death that one night in the forest. He had kept secrets from her though not many had been for her own good. The sight of her as she had grown more and more with a child had been interesting and he had struck up a friendship with her that was interesting to say the least. Walking down the hall he caught her scent and tilted his head to the side and smiled deciding to go visit her as he made his way towards her and then knocked on the door before opening it a few moments later “hello my dear” he walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist where she sat and kissed her neck and smiled “how are you?” he asked as he looked down at her journal for a moment then stroked her hair for a moment as he looked at her and smiled pulling up a chair and sat down slowly.
Things were slowly coming together as the two had become friends he reached out and gently touched her stomach seeing a small flinch he frowned and gently moved her shirt up a slight bit nothing showing besides her stomach “why didn’t you come to me?” he asked her seeing the bruises he closed his eyes and ran his fingers over her skin and paused getting up and walked out of the room coming back moments later he had a cup of blood that would do the trick “here” he said softly and looked into her eyes and handed it to her “drink” he said simply “you’ll feel better” he admitted and sighed. He was annoyed that she had not come to him and it showed he sighed quietly and sat back down “the baby is a hybrid…that will settle down but the best we can hope is your body will make it through the whole thing” chances were she could be killed in this and he had been doing all that he could to make her comfortable.
Moving closer to her he touched her cheek running his fingers along her skin feeling its heat “how are you feeling?” he asked her after a few moments. She would be one of the first few people he thought of as a true friend since this had all started. Resting a hand on her stomach again he felt the baby kick and glanced at her face “we may have to put you on bed rest soon” he admitted after a few moments and shook his head. She was coming along quicker and quicker as time passed he was sure that she would not be with child for long maybe a day or so “when the baby is out if you wish me to I can change you” he offered “it will be easier to handle the hybrid” he admitted after a few moments. The hybrid would be stronger and faster then she was and may even change her if venomous something that could go extremely bad or very good he had no idea yet.
Standing up he walked over and looked outside the window as the sun came down on him “you have taken everything well” he admitted. He had thought that she would have taken the time needed to adjust to it but she was good. Walking over he wrapped his arms around her slowly and held her close for a few moments and stroked her hair “you’ll make it through this” he assured her keeping his voice soft and kind as he looked at her and sighed. He could be himself around her which was what he liked the most he didn’t have to be fake or lie about things he knew he could be honest with her and that went a long way.

Corah was just about finished writing in her journal when she felt a cool set of arms wrap around her. Jumping slightly, the pen she held rolled across the wood to the back of the desk. She glanced back at Chris, grabbing for the pen. It really surprised her just how good of friends they had been since he saved her two short weeks ago. Things had changed very quickly since then. "Hi Chris."she said softly, her smile fading a bit from the initial shock. "I'm alright, in a little bit of pain though. " Corah said, feeling the baby kick her, right in the ribs. Her eyes moved down to his hand resting on her stomach, and she knew he didn't like it when she flinched. When he rolled up her shirt, she looked down at her bruises, biting her lip softly. They hurt. "I was honestly just about to come and find you." she said, looking over at Chris. Her expression turned to one of curiosity mixed with irritation and fear. She had taken in everything Chris had told her in stride, but she felt like he was keeping things from her. She was tired being kept in the dark.
When he came back, Corah saw the cup and wrinkled her nose in distaste. She took the cup hesitantly, looking at it with a frown. Of course it'd help her feel better and settle the baby down, but it still was nasty. Taking a deep breath, she held the cup up to her lips and took a long drink. After swallowing, she gagged a bit at the taste. It was bitter, and had a bit of a cherry medicine taste but salty and....irony. He hadn't told her what was in it, and honestly she had no desire to know. Taking a breath to ease her stomach, she finished drinking it. It was easier to take large amounts of it in at a time instead of sipping at it. After placing the empty cup in the trash can, she looked back over at Chris, moving a hand to her stomach.
Corah looked over at him, her eyebrows furrowing slightly at his cryptic remark. He had been talking that way for quite a while now, and it was beginning to bug her. Not only because he was keeping things from her, but was she in danger? She was almost afraid to ask but she needed to know. Looking down at her belly, she figured as much. How else could it's kicking leave bruises on her? From inside? "I know it's stronger than me, but...we hope my body makes it through it? I could..die?" she asked.
Corah tilted her head, resting it in his cool palm. The touches were comforting now. Especially in this strange, new place. "I'm feeling better now, thank you. " she said, looking up into his crimson eyes. It was true, the vile liquid had eased the both of them. The baby's kicks were less hard and farther apart now. Corah frowned at the words bed rest. Even if she didn't want to be laid up, she knew Chris would make her. Her mind went back to the whole situation. She only knew that her child was stronger than she was and grew fast.
Corah's heart rate increased as she thought about his words. Change her into a vampire? Was she going to be in that bad of shape? She needed answers, and now. "I know that a hybrid is half human, half vampire...but that's it. I'm assuming they like blood because they're half vampire. How harmful are they, honestly? " she asked, looking away from him. She fought against the fear as it threatened to over take her. Was she willing to give her human life away to become a vampire? Her eyes went to the floor, filling with tears. "Are the hybrids immortal like you vampires? " Corah asked, her voice a bit shaky. Although she was a bit scared about this child, she undoubtley loved it. She was also afraid she would hurt her baby if she became a vampire.
"You said something about newborn vampires being out of control for the first year of their life...Would that make me hurt my child? " Corah asked, still finding it odd that she felt butterflies kick up in her stomach when she talked about her baby. She had only been a mom to be for two weeks though. "Tell me the truth...how long do you think I have left, Chris? " She asked, looking up at him as tears shimmered in her eyes. She may be strong but she was still very scared. Swallowing against the lump in her throat, she leaned against him as he held her. Although she was a bit angry with him from keeping things from her, she still trusted him. They were now close friends, and that was odd. At first she thought she could never be close to him, with the air of confidence and authority he gave off. "I hope so..."Corah said softly, closing her eyes as she enjoyed his hands running through her hair.

He could feel her concern as she leaned against him and he sighed he had never meant to become close to her. He had simply just been out looking for a meal when she had come across his path and he had saved her but now it was too late as he was snared in her web and a part of him didn’t ever want to get out of it as he shook his head and leaned down and kissed her forehead “calm down” he whispered quietly and sighed showing her kindness something that he had rarely felt in the past few weeks knowing that she had a lot on her plate he tried to be there when she needed it even though it could be tough at times.
When she asked about the first year he cringed slightly and nodded “it is often the hardest but every vampire is different you could have great control for a new born or…” he didn’t finish the sentence as he looked down and sighed “we would have to come to that bridge but either way a hybrid is a lot to deal with and you maybe down a few days to a week recovering the change would only take three days and you would be healed the choice is yours though I will never take that from you” he whispered and led her away from the desk and sat down on her bed and cradled her close as he ran his hand through her hair slowly in a calming manner knowing she had been through a lot he sighed quietly “if we go through the normal way would you like me to have your parents brought in?” he asked her after a few moments.
That had been on his mind for a few days and he knew that a family would be a comfort to her when she may need it the most and he may even just do it even if she didn’t want them there to be safe. She was still a human and would need to know her family would love her though when they wanted to see the baby may present a problem he would come to it when it did come up and right now his corah was all that mattered and he would make sure she had all the comforts that she needed and then some if he could he would just because she was the first person that he could consider a true friend in such a long time.
He had always avoided this because he believed that friends would just let you down when they were done but she had done more than prove that he made the right decision when he had saved her and brought her home to Greece with him to see that she would make it through the birth and her child would be safe and raised right. He had never even thought of what gift that she may have had that could make the coven better which surprised him even more that now he thought of it and shook his head “you still have awhile so don’t worry we will get you through this” he whispered to her.
He knew that he could give her one more gift though one that she would always cherish in the long run as he looked down at her and smiled lightly “when…this is over and if you decide to I will set you free so you can be normal again I know it is something you want and you could want…when the child is old enough to understand in a week or two we can explain things and then go about sending you both home and I can find a vampire who can help you watch the child to make things easier let this be the one gift I will give to you…your freedom” he whispered and looked into her eyes if he could he would have been in tears at the moment his eyes were sad but he knew it was needed.
