The past three days had been endless. All Corah knew was the burning that completely consumed her entire body. Nothing else mattered. Not the fact that she nearly died giving birth to her hybrid, not that she was pregnant, not that she was in Greece at the Pure One’s castle. Her body thrashed as she let out another scream of agony, arching off the bed as the fire increased in her chest. Sure, it was a great thing that the fire had left her extremities. It felt as if they had been dunked in ice water, the fire was only a memory there. The fire burned hotter and hotter in her chest, and Corah wished she was dead. Nothing was worth this pain. Another scream left her as she moved her hands to the wooden object behind her and heard a loud crack. As soon as the intense heat collected in her chest, it was gone. The pounding beat of her heart had stopped. What did that mean? The eerie silence made her whole body tense and with that feeling, she let her eyes pop open.
This room was….familiar, but from where? The memories she had from it were really murky. She knew it was her room, somehow. Taking in a breath, her eyes took in the room rapidly. All that she could focus on was the burning in her throat. Her hand moved to the base of her throat, the burning only intensifying. There was no way to fix it. She jumped off the bed and quickly spun around, smelling another vampire’s scent nearby. The closest must have been only outside of her room, but there were others. They were everywhere. Immediately Corah felt threatened. She crouched down with a soft growl, looking around the room, waiting for that person to come in. As she was in that position, she took in all the sounds around her. There were mainly echoing footsteps from others around…wherever she was. There was a very faint humming sound somewhere. What was that? She recalled hearing it earlier, a few times actually when she was burning.
Corah had no idea what she was now, all logical thoughts were out the window. There was a slight smell of the most wonderful thing in the world to her right now, blood. She cautiously walked around the room, searching the delicious smell out as it burned her throat more. It was too much of a reminder of what she had just been through for her liking. She winced and kept searching, and found that the scent was coming from the mattress she had been laying on. It was surprising that the sheets hadn’t come off with her thrashing. They were twisted and thrown all over the bed. Her eyes widened a little as she noticed the chunks missing from the headboard. She did that? What the hell? She turned around, the sound of the footsteps growing close. As the person approached, she went back into her defensive position where she felt a little safe.
This all was overwhelming for Corah. Even though she was ready to attack, she thought over the things that she actually remembered. It was all overpowered by thirst though. The venom pooled in her mouth as she moved another hand to her throat, why wasn’t this burning going away?! Somewhere she heard a soft cry paired with the humming sound and for some reason, it made her feel sad. It broke through the thirst she felt, if only for a millisecond. Now that she was awake, she needed to get this burning out of her throat. In the very back of her mind, the cry that she heard bothered her as well as her confusion she felt. Of course, her thirst overpowered that. For now, anyways.

It had been the hardest decision that he had made since he had become a vampire…they had done everything that they could to save her and he had watched her as she struggled with the last moments of life before he had injected her heart directly with his venom in a syringe. The change had been drastic as he watched her the next few days making sure she was okay as the change happened. Today she would be waking up as he saw the changes had taken place on the outside. It was on the inside that had to finish…grabbing a human who had been brought in and walked towards her room where he believed that she would be.
He had made sure the baby was safe when his mother had been cared for with a nanny that he had hired though he did spend a lot of time with the child himself to make sure that he was okay. As he walked up to the room he could hear her inside and sighed she was awake. Opening the door he paused “Corah…its Chris” he paused as he watched her “relax I am going to help you” then he did something risky and pushed the human to her feet. He doubted the young female human would be alive long in his eyes. Sighing he leaned against the wall and watched her carefully curious as to how she would handle this.
The beginning was the hardest part “Corah come back to the surface its okay…your safe as is your child” he kept his voice soft and kind as he watched her. He had to reach her in someway or another “I know the thirst is maddening but with time you’ll be okay I promise I wont let you fail” he had not even told her that she could have died back in the delivery but it had been to close. He knew that stress was not good for the baby and didn’t want to hurt the boy or his mother…even as friends Corah had come to mean to much to him to let her go…her child would need her as she would need him he had done everything that he could to save her…including damning her to immortality that he believed that she had deserved for a long time.
Tilting his head to the side he slid down against the wall…a vampires first meal was something that amazed him as he watched her with crimson eyes “how are you feeling?” he asked her after a few moments and cringed at the thought that came to him. She was stronger then she would ever be and chances were she would break a lot of things before she would become used to it. Taking a chance he walked up to her and rested his hand on her shoulder “Corah?” he asked her after a few moments his voice soft “come on dear you have to come to and remember who you are” he knelt down and stroked her hair staring into her eyes looking for a sign that he had reached her “come back to me” he whispered softly into her ear “come back to your son who needs you” he hugged her close and closed his eyes.

Corah crouched a few feet away from the door, her ears taking in the delicious scent of blood and a hammering heartbeat. She was going to attack that....human. Yes, a human. As soon as she opened the door, she snarled at the man who brought her in. Corah soon had her drained, the blood soothing the wild burning in her throat for a moment. She stood up but moved into a slight crouch again. Her eyes went to the stranger. He was familiar from somewhere....Chris?? He confirmed this a moment later. She suddenly became very happy and she smiled widely at him, but she still felt threatened. He was the leader of....her new coven after all. "Chris?" she asked softly, her voice fascinating her.
He was even more handsome through her vampire eyes. She took in his scent, her mind running a mile a minute. All of this new room...wow. She vaguely remembered him stabbing something into her heart when she was delivering her baby. Her baby! Where was he? She looked down with panic at her now flat stomach. Her emotions went south then, making her look around the room with worry. The burning in her throat kicked up again, making her look at the corpse with want. She growled softly, looking back at Chris. "Why am I so thirsty?!" she asked, getting more upset. She looked around the room again, mainly looking for a way to go find more blood.
As Chris mentioned her child, her mind left the thought of blood alone for a millisecond. Well, more like became less powerful. She looked at Chris, sorrow in her voice. "Is he okay......did he survive?"she asked, her voice still fascinating her. The last thing she remembered before the injection was holding her son. Her mind tried to get a clearer picture of him, but it was hard. She looked at Chris as he approached, still feeling threatened. She crouched down a bit but didn't back away. Her eyes trailed him as he slid to the floor on the wall. She honestly had to think about that. This was a hell of a lot to take in. "I'm......overwhelmed." she said, wondering if her appearance would be as different as her voice seemed to be.
Her mind got the best of her again, making her stare out the window, distracted by the colors. As Chris approached, she didn't feel very threatened any more. She did stiffen as he put his hand on her shoulder and she moved away from it without knowing. She looked up at him, seeing the care for her in his dark red eyes. Things started to piece together then once he mentioned her son. So he did survive. She moved her arms around him, hugging him tight. "How....how long was I out for?" she asked before enjoying his embrace. "Where's my son?" she asked, her voice becoming a touch panicked.

He had to admit that she was acting like he had thought she would in some ways…the human was soon drained dry and laid on the floor. The surprise came when she calmed down enough to start asking questions a small smile coming to his lips as she moved into his arms he slowly wrapped them around her “I’ve got you” he whispered and smiled lightly “though…not to tight” he whispered into her ear and cringed. She was stronger then he was at the moment and the strongest she would be ever would be in the next few months. Touching her cheek he paused “one step at a time Corah take a deep breath it will be okay I promise” he assured her with a smile.
Her son he thought knowing he would have to awnser before anything “he is in a room down the hall with the best nanny money can find you’ll love her” he rested his hand on her shoulder and squeezed gently “I know you are in a hurry but we have to take things slow for a few hours lets get your thirst down a bit and then we can handle the others” he knew she had questions so instead of saying it outright he gently led her to the mirror in the room and wrapped his arms around her stomach “welcome to the world of being immortal my dear…your now a vampire like all of us” he said quietly. Looking down he sighed “we couldn’t save you any other way I injected my venom into you to keep you around” he admitted after a few moments. It was never easy to admit that you failed…and that was what he was doing now.
Moving away from her he did give her some space as he paused “the thirst is for blood my dear it wont be easy I wont lie you may take years to find good control but I will work with you.” he assured her. He knew he would have to work with her as would the others to be sure that she was not lost in insanity of things like so many new vampires were. He had seen some that were all but ferial when it came to life and only cared about the blood that was something he would not allow to happen with her….he couldn’t a part of him cared deeply for her more then he had ever for any girl or woman that he had come across in his long life…she was truly something special to him even if he had not admitted it.
Pausing he walked over and opened the door “come dear lets get you more to drink you’ll feel better” he said softly. He wondered if she would struggle with killing anymore humans when you had just woken up in that thirst it was easy but now…it had changed considerably in both their eyes “you were in the change for three days like most are when injected not much has changed though your son…his growth has started as a hybrid always does I am sorry we had no other choice but to let you die and I cou…we couldn’t let that happen” he whispered almost slipping up…the fact was that the thought of not having her here or in his life scared him now…he had come to care to much about the simple little human that he had found all those weeks ago in the Forks forest…he had fallen in love with her.
