Here we go again, I feel the chemicals kickin’ in
It’s getting heavy and I want to run and hide
It’s getting heavy and I want to run and hide
I do it every time, you're killing me now
I won’t be denied by you, the animal inside of you
The freedom, the spirit and the wave, that's all that mattered. It was actually sunny out for once, and even though his family wanted to join him, they decided against it, fearing that the beach would be a little crowded, and then their secret would be out. So here he was surfing the waves like he used to back in California. People didn't know who he was here, and if anyone looked at him funny, it was because he 'looked' like the famous surfer from Cally who went missing one night. Of course to everyone he couldn't be the same guy because, well he'd be an old guy by now, past his prime and not looking like a teenager.
Castiel waited for one wave to pass, it wasn't his, and besides he wanted a bigger one. A grin crossed his face when he saw it. He looked around at the group of surfers who had joined him and pointed to the wave with a grin before preparing to take the wave. Once ready he waited and then, with practiced ease he stood up on the board and started to ride the wave. He ducked slightly as the tunnel formed and stuck his hand out, feeling the cold water against his hand he grinned as he exited the wave and finished riding the wave from the outside, not doing anything fancy.
Stopping near the shore he looked up at the sky. Late afternoon. He grinned and shook his head as the group of surfers he was hanging out with motioned for him to join them back out at sea. He paddled back to shore and made his way to a stand looking for food. He told the man what he wanted and paid for his food before sitting next to his old, lucky board that was stuck in the ground. Castiel watched the waves and thought how he was like them. He was free, and even though he seemed to die to the world he was still going strong, aging but never showing it. Eating his burger he scanned the rather crowded beach and sniffed the air quickly. Nope. No vampires or Shifters. It was weird, then again most of the shifters he had heard about lived in La Push. So he wasn't too surprised. Something caught his attention though, and his eyes looked around for the source. It was a very nice smell and he really wanted to know what, or who it was that smelled so nice. After a moment of sitting in the sand he stood up his bare feet taking in the sand between his toes.
Castiel followed his nose, being careful not to make it noticeable. It didn't take too long to find the source of the smell. Tilting his head making his unruly curly locks fall into his light brown eyes he watched the few people around the source of his attention. She was very pretty, but he wondered why she didn't smell the same as everyone else. Walking over to the girl he sat down next to her, it would have been a little strange to come out and say 'hey you smell nice, why is that?' yep completely the best way to start a conversation with a cute girl sitting by him. He would just sit here and listen to the guy playing guitar-albeit not the greatest- and just enjoy the rare sun shine.
What are you waiting for?
Say goodbye to my heart tonight !
