Edward let his daughter play out in the woods today. He loved spending time with his daughter. To watch her climb the trees and run around. She was really at home in these woods. He even played a few games with her and they went swimming as well. They had a big day. But Edward was getting worried about the way the weather was getting. He kept his eyes on the storm in the sky...Mother nature was really talking today. He looked at his watch and it was already about 5 pm in the after noon....He hated having to break up his daughter's fun but they had to get back home. Besides Bella would be worried if they were not back by a certain time. He walked over to where his daughter was. And bent down behind her..."Nessie, we gotta start heading back home come on..." He reached his hand out for her to take. She was having so much fun. Edward loved his daughter so much that he couldn't imagine life with out her. He smiled to himself as he watched her play. They were pretty far away from the house and the only way they could get back to the cottage was if, Nessie rode on Edward's back all the way back...
He could think of the kind of life he wanted his daughter to have. He wanted for one, her to find love and another was to live a happy life with no problems. But all parents wished that for their children. But Nessie was indeed a very special child. She was an immortal child. Edward was still a bit shocked that he was able to get Bella pregnant. Now that looks at it, he wish he could take back the times he wished Bella would give the baby up...Just so Bella could live on...Now, he was not thinking like that all. He loved his daughter with all his heart and she gave him some thing else to protect. Because she was indeed half human. But she was still perfect in Edward's eyes. She was a great kid to be with...Edward would do what ever it took to keep his daughter happy and safe...No matter the cost. He was a father now and he had many more responsibilities.....

  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Giggles filled the air as Renesmee jumped from the treetops, taking long bounds in a single leap. To a human observer it be a impossible task, but for this little girl it was as easy as pie, and to anyone else that was inhuman like herself. That was another story though.
Today Renesmee had gone out to the woods with her father. Renesmee loved going out to the woods, she felt so at ease in them that it was like a second home, and with the amount of time she spent in them it almost was. Whether she was alone or playing with another, Renesmee could be out here for hours. Though she prefered being out here with someone else. It was much funner when she wasn't playing by herself. So playing with daddy today was great. Not that it wasn't always. It was. But they had gone swimming today so it was extra fun. Her hair was still a bit wet too, but it was mostly just damp since running around the forest had dried it off.
After all the days activities, Renesmee was still filled with a ton of energy. Well... she was a bit tired... but she wasn't going to admit to it. She didn't want to go home yet. There was still so much more to do! She wasn't sure if daddy had noticed yet but a storm was coming, she could see in the sky. Renesmee wasn't going to tell him though. If she did he'd want to go home and that would ruin the whole day.
Dropping from the tree trunk above, the young brunette fell to the ground, landing on her feet with ease. Her chocolate eyes wandered over the woods around, debating on where to zoom off to next. But before she could do anything she heard daddy behind her. Renesmee turned around to look at him, a frown now tugging on her lips. Home? But, but... "But I don't want to." "But I don't want to." He smiled at his daughter. She was such a lively spirit. Never sad about any thing. He had to admit he couldn't imagine life with out her. He smiled down at her pleading eyes to keep playing a little while longer. Didn't she know how precious she was? Edward watched her closely mostly all the time. He couldn't let her get hurt or any thing. And what if some thing did happen where he had to protect her? He would do everything in his power to keep her safe. That was certain. He saw Renesmee tug on her lip...It was so cute. The little things she did. He knew she didn't wanna leave the woods. She was at home here. She was just like her Daddy. He felt the same way...He remembered when he first moved here he would hang out in the woods a lot. Just to be by himself...some times after school this would be the first place he would head to. Before he headed home. Of course he had to check in with his parents and make sure it was safe....
Half the time it was. But Edward looked upward at the sky and then the winds started to get high all around them...At least he wasn't sparking. Which he hated...He still hated sparkling in front of his wife. But he knew that she loved that part of him...To her it made him more sexy. Even though he did't think so....But he folded his arms across his chest as he looked down at his daughter with a firm expression... "Sweetie a storm's coming...And I don't want you mother to worry about us..." He then bent down to her level and sighed... "You don't wanna worry your mother do you?" He asked her sweetly as he placed his hand on top of her head...He tried to be the good parent. But right now it was kinda crucial that he got her back to the cottage before this storm hit them. And their car was miles away from them...She couldn't run fast enough to keep up with him and so he would have to carry her on his back this time. But he didn't mind that all. He would do any thing in the world for his daughter...Even swim which was not fond of...But when he did it with his daughter it was fun....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That pouted remained on her face. Her lips pursed ever so slightly. She wasn't trying to be cute, okay partially she was but it was mostly just out of instinct. And part of it was just general stubbornness. That was the part she figured that she got from her mother. From what she had heard her mother was really stubborn, or had been, and Renesmee was too when it came to getting what she wanted. But she never put up a fight. Renesmee didn't like getting her parents mad. She didn't like hurting them in any way what-so-ever. They were to important to her, and it was just against her nature to hurt someone. But... she really, really didn't want to go home yet.
As her father looked down at her with that firm expression, a new emotion ignited inside her which made Renesmee fold her own arms across her chest and stared up at him, that pout on her face now tinged with a hint of anger. But it only lasted for a moment for once he said that mommy would worry, the pout even left her face. The young girls dark eyes drifted to the ground as her arms uncrossed. She didn't want mommy to worry about them...
Sighing, her shoulders slumped and she reached out a hand, placing her own pale hand atop of his. With the touch she sent the image of their house into his mind, a look of surrender on her features all the while. She had gave in. He smiled when she placed her little hand on top of his and he stood back up right and started head out with her back to the car. He was glad that she really didn't fight with him to stay. That storm was going to be here soon and he would hate for her to be out here when it happens...They had walked a while and that was when the rain started to fall very heavily....He kept a firm grip on her hand. "I'm sorry Nessie...We'll be out of this soon..."
That was a loud crack in the sky was heard and lighting had a hit a tree in their path! He at once shielded her eyes from it as it crashed down! And he knew it would scare her. But he had to keep her away from things like that. Cause she was still part human and she could get seriously injured from some thing like that...As soon as it had fallen he backed away from it and knelt down to her height again and looked her over..."You okay darling?" He asked with a worried expression...
He knew that would most likely shake her up...But he was there with her and he knew these woods better than she did. He was clearly drenched as she was...He knew that this was not going to be a pleasant memory for her. But he was not going to leave her side. And he hoped she knew that. When he became a father he promise Bella nothing would happen to their daughter. He knew now that he had to really get her out of here before some thing else bad happened...And he grabbed her hand and swooped her up on his back...He was gonna try and run to get them out...
"We gotta travel faster....Sorry sweetie...." He started to run like lighting then...He thought all the while that he had to make sure she remained unharmed...He couldn't risk his own life now either. Because the little one riding on his back loved him with all her heart....And he loved her even more than she would ever know. Edward held on to his daughter's arms as he ran through the forest. The rain was slowing him down a little. It was weather conditions like this that he could not rely on his speed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Renesmee held onto daddys hand, forcing a small smile onto her lips. She didn't want to go. She really, really didn't. But fighting wasn't a solution. That would only get daddy mad, and then mommy mad, and the other's might feel upset or something too and she really didn't want to make them mad... so she obliged and followed her father through the woods, a tad reluctant, but she didn't say a word.
Few thoughts ran through her mind as they walked. One being the car. The car must have been far since they had been walking awhile now, she wasn't sure how long but some time definetly did pass.
Renesmee honestly couldn't remember how far it was, she hadn't paied much attention to where it was in the first place, she had been to excited to be in the woods to notice. And as the rain started to fall, she still was excited to be here.
The child looked up at the darkened sky as the rain came crashing down. It was kind of fast too... She felt it hit her skin hard, soaking her clothes rather quickly. But still Renesmee tilted her head back to the sky, letting the rain hit her.
As she heard her daddy say he was sorry, Renesmee giggled in a happy manner. "It's okay, daddy. I like the rai... ah!" The young girl jumped seeing the bolt of lightning that struck down, hitting a tree in their path, a tree that then crashed down onto the ground. Her eyes were shielded but she still had caught a glimpse, and the noise... it was loud. Scary loud.
Her little heart fluttered a few extra beats out of fear, and while his hands covered hers, she showed him the image of the house repeatedly and very quickly. She really wanted to go home now, very badly!
As he pulled her onto his back in a fluid motion, Renesmee wrapped her arms around his neck holding on tight. She usually enjoyed riding on her fathers back, but right now it wasn't for fun. "It's okay, daddy. I like the rai... ah!" He ran as fast as he could go through this weather. He was just so worried that he would not be able to get her out of this storm with out some thing else happening to them. And he just realized some thing, he had long since had a good meal. How would this affect the situation he and his daughter was in? But he wouldn't tell his daughter that. As he ran he looked down at his watch. It was getting pretty late. And he knew she would be getting tired soon. He kept hearing her shout the word home in her head. ?And he knew what she wanted more than any thing right now. He felt her grip her tiny arms around his neck. Right now he could sure use some help of some sort. But the way things were going it was gonna be bleak. He caught some thing in the corner of his eye as he ran faster. A shadow of some sort running fast between the trees not far from them. What now?! He couldn't read it's mind. Probably a wild animal on a hunting prowl.
Just as he thought he was gonna be safe from what ever it was, a mountain lion leaped out in front of them slashing it large paws right at Edward's side! He felt the claws dig deep in his side! As he was thrown off course...and most likely he would loose Renesmee as they thrown! He tumbled a bit down the hill as he held on to his daughter's arms! apparently the mountain lion had no idea Edward was immortal...And it charged down hill after them both! As he stopped falling, he realized that his daughter had fallen off his back! And that was when the mountain lion leaped right on his stomach and dug his claws in to his skin! Edward couldn't help but let out a loud scream of pain! As he grabbed his arms around the large animals neck and twisted the neck furiously....Trying to kill it...It would be a good tasty treat if he succeeded killing this thing! And that was when the large animal let out a loud squeal of pain as Edward broke it's neck finally! He stood up off the muddy ground and looked down at the now dead mountain lion he had just killed...He hated that his daughter had to witness this...But he was more worried about her condition that his own feeding time.
"Renesmee! Baby!" He stumbled a bit not realizing that his leg had been injured by the lions heavy back feet! He would heal but it would take a bit...He tried to push himself off the ground as he fell again....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With her arms wrapped around his neck, Renesmee held onto her father as she half clung to his back. Her muscles were tense out of fear. It wasn't the first storm she had been in, but this storm wasn't like the others. It was loud, lightning had hit the ground, and everything was very wet. She wasn't liking this one bit. She wished that they'd get home already, but she didn't continuously send the image of home into his mind. She had stopped after the first five times. For now she was silent, not even saying a word in her own voice. The occasional whimper passed through her lips but nothing more.
Her eyes were shut most of the time, but when she heard heavy beating against the ground, heavy beating that was to loud for the rain, her dark eyes opened and looked to their left. She spotted a shadow in the trees, but just briefly.
What was that..?
Renesmee wondered. She didn't wonder for long for the shadow soon leapt out at them, making her eyes widen in shock in the process.
Lion!
Out of instinct she almost sent that image into his mind, to warn him or something, but it was to late. The lion had hit her father and had thrown them off their path. The force of the attack caused the child to fall off of her fathers back and onto the hard, wet forest floor.
Renesmee let out a scream of pain as she collided with the ground. A sharp pain had shot up through her lower back and up to her shoulder, but her attention was quickly directed off of it and onto the lion as she spotted it charging down the hill out of the corner of her eye.
Instinctivly she cringed, but her father had gotten to the lion quickly and with force had grabbed onto the lions neck and...
A lump formed in her throat as she listened to the lions cry and the sickening snap of its neck. She was used to hunting animals and hearing their pain, but in this moment everything was more... heightened in her mind, so ever since the lightning she had been on edge in worry and fear.
The lump instantly disapeared when she heard her father call her name. Her eyes snapped to him and as she saw him fall to the ground, Renesmee's eyes widened more- if possible- and with that inhuman speed vampires pocessed she was to her feet and at her fathers side. "Daddy!"

"Daddy!" He groaned slightly as he tried get up off the ground.
"I...I'm fine..." He said lowly as he managed to get to his feet after he felt her little hand set on his shoulder. He glanced back at the mountain lion that had picked the wrong immortal to mess with. And sighed. He hated that he had to kill a living creature like that in front of his daughter. His leg was slowly healing back to normal as he wobbled over to the dead animal... "Are you...thirsty?" He asked her as he looked back at her. Making sure that she didn't need any....
He thought about her before he would his own life. He hated having to feed in front of his daughter but he needed it. And she would know he did. If he wanted his strength back. That attack had surprised him a little...He was usually a bit smart when there was some thing about to attack. Could it be because of his daughter was distracting his killing instincts? He just pushed that thought out of his head quickly. There was no way she would ever be a distraction...But she could very well be...And he was just too proud to admit that...
But the pain in his leg was too much for him to bare at the moment and he sat back down on the ground. He couldn't be weak! But the lack of blood in his system was making him so. And the rainm was not making the situation any better. As well as the thunder and lighting. And in any given moment, the lighting could strike down. He knew that tree falling scared his daughter. He hated she had a frighting time here in the one place she loved the most. Blame it on mother nature. Funny he saw the news this morning and they said no rain today in Forks. But, apparently they didn't know every thing. It was amazing though that he had enough will not to attack his daughter.

Was he okay? Was he hurt bad? She could smell the blood coming from his leg, and see it... She was worried for him.
Her eyes wandered over to the dead lion, then at her fathers eyes. They were darker than normal...
"Oh!" Realization dawned on her. She sensed it now. His thirst. He...
Her head tilted to the side slightly. "You're thisty." She had ignored his question and asked one of her own. Why didn't he drink yet? She had to wonder. They had been out in the woods all day, so animals had been all around them. She hadn't drank anything either but... well she was a bit thirsty, but she had pushed that aside awhile ago. She could resist it since she was only half vampire. Besides, her father looked more thirsty than her by a lot. He had to drink.
Glancing between the dead lion and her father, she, a bit hesitantly, made her way to it and grabbed the lion by the scruff of the neck with both hands then dragged it over to daddy. "Drink." She said softly but yet demanding in its own way. She had seen her parents drink before, and she had drank from animals herself. It wasn't forgien to her, so it didn't bother her. But her father loosing control was... she didn't want that. "Oh!" "You're thisty." "Drink." Edward sighed slightly when he saw what her daughter did next. She had practically picked the animal that was heavier than her and slid it over to him...And laid it next to him. Edward gave her daughter a weak smile. He looked up at his daughter with weak eyes of thirst. She knew when it was time for him to have his meal. And she was careful to make sure he had enough. Because in his case, Edward tended to get a bit out of control when he had not had his meal in due's time. "Thank you..." He said slightly as he grabbed the animal around the neck and almost instantly he used his vampire swiftness and bent his head down to the neck of the mountain lion and sunk his teeth in its neck! He let his fingers dig in to the animals fur as he drank and let the blood rush down his dry throat. This was very uncomfortable for him. For his daughter was witnessing this scene. And he didn't want her to think it was any thing malicious...He shut his eyes tightly and couldn't let his daughter know that he was having a trouble moment with her there.
He could only hear the rain falling around them as he drank the animal dry of its blood. And when he was finished he threw the corpse to the side and let out a heavy sigh of relief...As he wiped his face on the back of his hand free of any blood that was left on his lips. He then felt his leg heal a bit faster and he just sighed again. He reached his arm out and grabbed his daughter and pulled her in a hug....
"I love you....What would I do with out you?" He asked her softly as he hugged her there in the rain...He thought about how much Nessie favored Bella. She did a lot but her characteristics were far from Bella's. And that made Nessie unique from her parents. There was a bit of a stubborn streak in her. But Edward figured she got that from both him and Bella. It was just amazing that some of him was passed on to his daughter. And his blood line would grow from there after Nessie found that certain some one to make her happy beyond her dreams....
As he hugged her there was a moment of silence between daughter and father. He knew she wanted nothing more but to go home. And so did he. He would get them out of this mess one way or another. No matter what he had to do to keep her safe. Of course Edward would worry about his daughter all the time. That was the job you got when you become a parent. He then started to pull away from her as he looked in her delicate eyes...And gave her a soft smile. As his eyes were back to normal as he looked in to her own.
"I'm fine darling...See..." He gave her a good look in her eyes when he smiled brighter and then his eyes cast down to his leg that was injured and she would see that it was no longer hurt.... "See...I'm fine..." He then leaned forward and placed a kiss on her fore head as he stood completely up on both feet....He was fine and she would see that....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Renesmee bit down on her lower lip as she watched her father sunk his teeth into the lions neck as soon as she had put it there. His fingers were digging into the animals fur as he drank. She didn't know if this felt uncomfortable for her father but to her it felt so. Her father was really thirsty... Why he waited so long to drink Renesmee didn't know. But it wasn't good that he did. From the looks of it, he would have lost control if he waited a few more days. And that wasn't something Renesmee wanted to think about.
When her father was finished, she watched as the corpse was thrown aside nearly hitting one of the trees. Turning her eyes off of the lion she then looked back at dad, she barely had time to react as she was pulled into a hug.
The movement surprised Renesmee, but she soon smiled at her father. "I love you too daddy." She placed her arms around him the best she could, just leaning against him and taking comfort in the silence. Content where she was. After the long day she had just being this close to her father made her happy. The fear was momentarily pushed aside.
Renesmee looked up at him, meeting his eyes with her own. She felt relieved when she saw that his were back to their normal color. She felt even more relieved when she saw that his leg was okay now.
She gave a small nod, her mood lifting a little. "I love you too daddy." Edward gave a small smile when she said that after he hugged his daughter. He knew she was now ready more to get home. He felt a bit bad though that she had see him drink blood from an animal. But still she knew what he was and what he had to do to survive. So he got over that. He loved his family so much that he was terrified that some one would take them away from him and he was not going to let that happen. He sure was not going to let some stupid thunder storm take his daughter away from him. He placed his fingers on his daughter's soft cheek then when he stood up. He must be like a giant compared to her. But, he smiled down at her as he just looked down in to her eyes. "Can we go home now please?" He knew she wanted to go home as much as he did. But he glanced down at her. She really resembled Bella in a lot of ways. She worried about him as much as Bella did as well. But they were both right to worry.
He was apart of their little family and Edward would not let himself get too far from not having blood at all. For their sakes. He's not so far done that in front of Nessie. But, Bella he has and it was not a smart thing he did. But he had to escape from Bella at one point to just keep her safe from his blood lust. And that was the time when he killed some one just to try and get it out of his system....But that helped very little. He was just glad that Nessie doesn't know what he could really be like if he slipped. And he was trying his best to keep that side of him dominant for the sake of his daughter. "Yes...Right now, home sounds like a peaceful place to fall for the both of us...Come on and be careful..." He reached his hand out for her to take yet again and would lead her away from the dead animal he just sucked dry. He hated the fact that she had to even see him do that. But again, she knew and that was okay.
He led her through the forest then. He could hear her little heart beat going at a medium little beat style. He was just as sacred as she was. But he was only scared if some thing happened to her and not him. He was keeping his eyes out for any thing else just in case and he had his vampire senses up on high alert. Simply because this once beautiful forest turned in to a night mare for the both of them in a matter of minutes. And Edward would feel better if he could get her some where safely. That's all that mattered. He cares less about his own life. He tried to hide that part of him from his daughter as well. He would carry her to end of the world just to keep her safe and alive.

Heart beating a million beats a minute, figurativly speaking, Renesmee took hold of her fathers hand and holding it in a small grip, she walked with him following him through the forest.
Her eyes were wider now. Renesmee was quiet, but even if not spoken the fear was clear. She wasn't liking this day. She had! But then it became... it became a nightmare and she didn't like it anymore! She wanted to go home badly. To see mommy, Alice, Carlisle and Esme. And her Jacob. Definetly her Jacob. Not more than mommy or daddy, but she wanted to go home and see him, to see them all. She wanted to be safe in the house. Not out here in the wind and the rain.
Renesmee was glad that daddy was here. She didn't know what she would have done if she were on her own. She was scared enough as it was, if daddy hadn't been out here with her...
Shaking the thought off quickly, Renesmee squeazed her father's hand tighter, stepping closer to him so she was right besides him. Her light eyes glanced up at him before looking back ahead, taking small, quick breathes. |

He felt her squeeze his hand with her smaller one. He glanced down at her and gave her a reassuring smile that they would both be alright. Despite the fact that they were both soaked to the bone, Edward was more worried about his daughter than his own condition. She was half vampire. But she still had human inside her. And she could get sick if they stayed out here long enough. But the way the weather was treating them, it would be a ways back to the car. He was just as nervous as she was. And he was trying his best to keep her from seeing him lost and nervous. He was her guide and if he failed her he wouldn't know what he would do. He then felt her move her little self closer to him. As he sighed slightly...Just to know that she was there and right beside him was enough for him to know that she was alright. Despite the fact that she was scared out of her wits. Just as he was. But he was more concerned for her any way. And he knew Bella was starting to worry about them both. She would be home by now and find that they had not returned yet...
"It's going to be alright. Don't worry, you'll see them all again...I promise..." Yes he was reading her little mind. He was just taking precautions. He was worried about her little state. He didn't want to think that she would never see them again.....And when her mind went towards Jake he wanted to object to that....She was too young to love. But that was just the father instinct kicking in. He would always be protective of his daughter no matter who she had chosen to be with...But the fact was that it was Jacob Black...That bothered him slightly...But he was not going to let his daughter that there was that slight tension between him and Jacob. He was trying to keep the subject at bay...He hated when ever he caught her even thinking about him....Edward would by now had called Bella if the rain would stop and let her know that they would both be home later than expected. But as long as the rain fell that was not going to happen...Edward was just as worried as Nessie was....What if Bella got so worried that would come out in the storm and start looking for them....?
