Emmett sat in the living room watching baseball. It was the Chicago Cubs against the Atlanta Braves at Wrigley Field. He liked both teams but for some reason he never quite knew the answer to, he favored the Cubs more. That was exactly who he was rooting for too. They were winning two-one but it was only the bottom of the third inning so there was no say how it would end.
He didn’t mind the uncertainty, really. It was refreshing verses Alice’s tendency to ruin it for him by blurting out who would win. He didn’t have to worry about that today, though. No, Carlisle and Esme were on Esme’s Island for week or two for some alone time. Edward and Jasper were off hunting and the rest were shopping in Seattle. That left Emmett all on his own.
Normally, he didn’t like being alone, but the silence right then was refreshing. It was just him and the game. There was no Alice to ruin it off him, and he was just enjoying the game and alone time. They would probably be out most of the day. He knew Edward and Jasper would come home first. It was only supposed to be a quick hunt. Jasper would probably sit down in his silent, brooding manner of his and wait patiently for Alice. Edward would probably do the same, ‘cept instead sitting quietly, he’d probably fiddle around at his piano.
Soon as the girls got home, Alice and Jasper would disappear to do something together or for Alice to get him to try on a new outfit she bought. Edward would take Bella and Nessie to the cottage for a little so that Bella and Ness could put everything they bought away and such. Bree would probably be doing her own thing. The game would probably have ended so Emmett’s attention would immediately turn to Rose. They’d go to their room and she would show off her new wardrobe for him.
Those thoughts made him smile even as the Cubs struck out so that the two teams swapped positions and the inning moved up a number. Emmett could tell this was going to be a very good day indeed. Of course it would be even better if the Cubs won today and Alice stayed away until the end of the game. Yep that would work.
"OH! C'MON HE DROPPED THE DAMN BALL!" Emmett shouted at the TV as he watched them switch sides.

Rosalie had of course filled up the trunk of her car with all the shopping she had done, and with all that she wanted to get to the house, because she wanted to be with her soul mate, and plus she had been in every shop and brought a lot of clothes. Before getting into her car she had told Alice that she was going back home, and she then walked to her red BMW convertible, she then climbed into her car, and began to drive her car out of the parking lot. As drove on the road back towards Forks, she then noticed that there was a lot of traffic, and she then had to slow her speed down as she caught up to the traffic, I really hate driving slowly, it is no fun. Oh now we have stopped. WHY have we stopped when there is nothing there? Finally we are moving.
As she had came out of her thoughts she then pressed on the gas peddle and as soon as she was clear of the traffic, she then of course speeded up, and drove faster towards the Cullen house, as she then drove up and on to the drive she then gave a very quiet sigh, as she parked her car just outside the garage door, climbing out of her car she then walked around towards the trunk and began to get her shopping bags out, and put them right outside the front door and then shut the truck and locked her car, she then caught the scent of her soul mate and she knew that he would be home and walking back towards the door, and opening the front door she knew that Emmett would know that she was home, and putting all of her bags upstairs in her room at vampire speed she then came back down, and turned to walked towards Emmett she then spoke towards her husband, Hey Monkey man. You have some shopping.

Edward had been a bit busy these days with a family of his own it wasn't easy just taking some time for himself any more. But after he was sure he would get the chance he promised his family he would visit more often. And today was a good day for that to happen. He rolled up into the Cullen drive way. And saw a few cars. Good there was some one here...He smiled as he looked over at his passenger side seat and saw few things that belonged to Nessie...That was when he got out of his car and walked up to the Cullen house. And opened the front door of the house. And he heard the TV going on in the next room. Emmett must be watching sports. "So, who's winning?" He asked his brother that was yelling at the metal object that was mounted on the wall. Edward glanced at the TV and smiled...He could hear the announcer mention the Chicago Cubs all the way from his vehicle...He knew Emmett was at his sports again....But the fact that Emmett was rooting for Chicago made him more happy. He took his seat by his brother and watched the game with him....
Edward looked up from where Rose was standing...And he gave her a weak smile. He knew he should have called and let them know a head of time he was coming. But since when did he need a invitation to visit his family? He looked around and noticed for now there was no one else here at the house. Just Emmett and Rose. "Hey Rose what'd you get me?"He joked a bit when Rose announced that she had something for Emmett...Edward knew she didn't get him any thing he was just messing around with the blond. He had his own wife to make sure he stayed well dressed. And since Bella had been shopping more often with Alice her taste had grown more spicy...And she knew his style it seemed. So no matter what Bella usually bought him he loved it none the less.

Jasper's hunting expedition had been a complete success, which was to be expected with how many years of practice he had. It would have been more enjoyable if Alice had been there to accompany him, but she had gone shopping for the day which was not unusual. His love truly enjoyed the activity of shopping, which was something that Jasper could never understand. Then again, he probably was not meant to know what fun buying clothes was.
As he entered the house, Jasper picked up on the three emotions from his family as well as hearing their individual comments. He knew Alice wasn't there, which meant that Jasper would hang around until she showed up. More than likely, she would have a few outfits that she knew would look great on him. Until then, Jasper would hang out with his family, which would be easy since the game was on. He walked into the room and leaned against the wall, while staring at the game. "So is Emmett's team losing again or is he bellowing for another reason?"
It wasn't his usual method of communicating with his family, but Jasper felt that they had gone through so much in the last couple of years that it was about time that he slowly broke out of his usual routines. Now all he needed was for Alice to appear and make the situation a little easier on him as she made everything easier for him. He wondered if she was close to getting home yet, which made him remember that Rosalie had been shopping. "So how was your shopping trip, Rosalie? Did you get everything that you wanted?"

Emmett was immersed in the game. Well at least until he heard a car pull into the garage. He knew exactly who it was before she even got out of the car. He knew that car anywhere. Honestly cars were a lot more distinctive then just the visual. Like anything else they had a unique sound and sometimes even a unique smell. So, of course, Emmett listened to her enter the house and walk around. He didn’t move his attention away from the game. He knew she would find him when she was done doing what she was doing. It was just a few minutes later when she entered the living room.
He looked up at her as she spoke, though he was also paying a decent amount of attention on the game. That didn’t mean he hadn’t heard a thing she said. No, he got the message. She had bought him something and would like to have him look at it. He nodded and turned back to the game as he spoke.
“Okay,” he said. “Do you want to finish watching the game with me? It’s the top of the fifth inning.”
He knew she enjoyed playing baseball, but whether she watched it or not depended on her mood. Emmett was fine with that. He wouldn’t push her to do something she didn’t want to do. He just hoped that she wouldn’t mind him watching the rest of the game. Again, that all depended on her mood. He sighed inwardly at this. She could be the sweetest person one minute and then a second later be the hardest one to please. He loved her though so he took it all in stride.
”Who’s winning?
Emmett came very close to jumping out of his skin. He had stopped paying much attention to the world outside Rose and the game, and hadn’t been aware of someone else arriving home. He looked up at Edward for a moment and then turned to look back at the television.
“The Cubs,” he said. “Score 5-2. The ump’s an idiot, though so I don’t know how long it’ll last.”
Just as he said that there was questionable play that had one of the Braves sliding into home. The catcher had the ball in hand and tagged the guy, but ended up dropping the ball just before the tag. The ump called it safe despite the fact that the ball had not been in the catcher’s glove as he tagged. This caused Emmett to make a rude noise that showed his disgust and then some. He looked back to his brother.
“See what I mean?” he asked incredulously. “This is ridiculous. The guy is clearly out.”
Emmett loved sports of any kind and really not much bothered him about it. However, if people started making bad calls like calling an out when it was clearly a safe, then he began to get testy. An irritated Emmett could be either highly amusing or quite a nuisance. He didn’t care either way really. He glanced up as he heard Jasper come in and rolled his eyes at the older vampires greeting. Or lack there of.
“They’re not losing yet,” he said, putting a heavy emphasis on the last word. “The umpire is moron so they’ll probably start losing soon.”
He shut up as soon as the commercials ended and the game came back on. He sat back and stared at the screen, finding himself with the sudden desire to grab a beer. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to drink it or throw it had the screen. The latter would most definitely be more enjoyable, but the former would probably give the others a reprieve from the irritated Emmett. Honestly, he didn’t care either way.
OOC: Sorry for such the long wait.

Rosalie let a smile come onto her face as she listened to what Emmett was saying towards her, because this beautiful blond haired vampire was in a fairly good mood. She knew that Emmett would not move until the game was over, it was true when she was in a good mood she did like to sit and watch sport with Emmett, but other times she could not stand the sport he was watching, but lucky for everyone in the Cullen home it was a good mood Rose.
As she walked over towards where Emmett was sitting on the sofa, she then sat right next to him, as she heard her soul mates lyrics she knew that she did not really have to say anything towards him, because it was easy for him to tell by her actions that she was going to be watching the rest of the game with Emmett. Instead of saying anything towards her soul mate she just gave him a kiss on his lips, to show that she was staying with him today.
Hearing Edward talking towards her she knew what she was going to be planning , she then just let a little smile cross her face, Well Ed if you said you wanted a dress I would of got one of you.
When she heard Jasper’s words towards her, it was not that often when Rose was in a very good mood, and most of the family normally made the most of her being in a good mood, Yeah I got everything I needed a more. I even managed to get to a garage shop to pick up things I needed for the cars. So you could say that it was a very good day for shopping.

it has been a busy day. A busy day of doing things alone. the most doctors had been watching the game and Carlisle had to work. He looked at the patient and smiled. '' you're good for today, I'm off home, they will call me if there is anything wrong, enjoy the game. '' he said with a smile and left. He walked to his car and drove home as emmett's voice clearly won. He chuckled and walked into the house the guys and Rosalie all talking. '' hello, what's the reason of being loud Emmett? are the braves losing? '' Carlisle said smiling as he looked at Rose.
He smiled. '' did you found what you were looking for Rose? '' he asked and felt pretty tired, even for a vampire, but he was getting old, well they'll call him old. He looked around. He couldn't find the others that quickly so he sat down on the couch next to Emmett. '' they're going down if he doesn't start doing something. '' Carlisle said with a frown. He got up walking to the fridge and came back with a beer for Emmett. '' not this TV though, Esme bought it this time. '' he applied and took a sip from a bottle of water.
He looked at the game as he couldn't find any interesting things in it. '' so where is the bet? '' he asked at the guys. He grabbed 20 dollars and put it on table, i think the cubs will lose. '' he said and looked around, Esme wasn't fond of bets.

“The Cubs,” “Score 5-2. The ump’s an idiot, though so I don’t know how long it’ll last.” Edward let a smile escape his lips. Typical day in the Cullen house it seems. "So is Emmett's team losing again or is he bellowing for another reason?" "So how was your shopping trip, Rosalie? Did you get everything that you wanted?" Edward looked up at his blond headed sister when she entered the room and answered his question...."Well Ed if you said you wanted a dress I would of got one of you." Edward simply grumbled under his breath with that little remark she made. But he was used to it by now as he just got up from his seat next to Emmet and stretched his legs. Edward felt slightly out of place here for some reason. He's not lived here in a long time. And so with that he walked away from his family and walked in to the kitchen...He was trying to be more open to them but it seemed lately that all the time he came here everyone else had their own lives now. He sighed heavily as he brushed past his father and walked away from them all....
He still had no reason to be upset about any thing. But the storm that happened a few weeks ago with him and his daughter got him pretty shook up. He wasn't sure that he was ever going to get that image of his daughter being scared to death out of his head. That too was the first time his daughter ever witnessed him feeding on an animal. And Edward was trying his best to keep that from the eyes of his daughter. But at least it was over with. And Nessie was indeed safe. But some thing just bothered him a bit. He could never fully be just happy for a single second. As he walked in the kitchen away from the others he sighed a bit as he sat down at the kitchen's bar area....He couldn't even pay attention to his own team on the television...Which was not like him. On any other day, he would've sat there with Emmett and watched the whole game with him especially when it was his team playing.

Emmett’s response to what had been said by Jasper made the implication that the team the larger vampire was rooting for was going to inevitably lose the game due to an umpire that was clearly being bribed or was more blind than a bat was. Jasper watched as Emmett reentered the trance that most people who watched sports got, and he realized that keeping a conversation going with Emmett would probably be put on hold until the next commercial started.
Jasper wasn’t sure that Rosalie had gotten everything that she needed at the store, but he did believe that she had gotten everything that she had wanted. There was one thing that he had learned through all of his years on this planet, and that was girls never had enough stuff since most of their stuff was clothes and fast cars which were things that always had new designs and models coming out each month. At least it had put her in one of her better moods, which was something that everyone could be thankful for just so long as nothing came along to alter it. “I am glad that you had a great time shopping.”
Carlisle’s presence didn’t go unnoticed by Jasper as he could sense the exhaustion in his surrogate father’s mood. It seemed that having some down time with his family was the perfect solution to the problem, which meant that Jasper wouldn’t have to bring it up. Another positive aspect of Carlisle being involved in the sports hour of the house was how easily it was for him to predict Emmett’s habits, which almost made Jasper wonder if there was some clairvoyant abilities that the good doctor was keeping from the rest of the family. It was probably just the old man’s natural instincts kicking in, so that no one had to explain why the television set was broken.
While he didn’t have to worry about Carlisle, Edward was causing Jasper to feel an emotional cocktail that would drive most people crazy. He wasn’t particularly interested in the actual game that was going on, so he was sure that no one else in the room would notice his disappearance. Jasper entered kitchen to find Edward sitting there, and he decided that both of them knew what Jasper had come in there to do so they should both get it over with. “Something is on you mind. Do you care to talk about it?”

Emmett was one gloriously happy camper at the moment. Then again, that was usually his dominant mood regardless of the situation. He grinned as Rose kissed him. He let her sit down beside him only to pull her onto his lap a moment later so he could be just a little closer to her. Of course, if she wanted her space she was free to have it. Until then, however, he was content just like that.
“We should do something later, just the two of us,” he said just loud enough for Rose to hear him during one of the commercials.
Emmett didn’t look away from the televison when Carlisle came in. He barely acknowledge the older man until the question came about whether the braves were losing. He glanced briefly at the man just before the game came back on. Must he really continue explaining the problem here? Frankly, the whole house was luck you wasn’t stark raving bonkers from the ump’s numerous bad calls.
“Yes,” he said simply before his attention returned to the game.
Emmett accepted the beer and nodded when Carlisle warned him against breaking the television. Instead, he twirled the bottle around his hands and tried to figure out a good spot to throw it if the urge came to him. He wasn’t a stupid man, though. No, not by a long shot. He knew when something was off in the house, and he wasn’t like Rose on the subject. He couldn’t ignore it when a member of the family seemed bummed out. Thankfully for Edward, Carlisle distracted Emmett from saying anything right then and there. Emmett was never one to turn down a bet.
“You’re on!” he exclaimed with a hoot of laughter as he threw a twenty on the table. “Cubs will kick ass despite the senile umpire. If they lose I’ll hunt him down and eat him.” He paused as I thought struck him. “Hey, Edward, what did you think of that scandal with the White Sox?”
He wasn’t sure Edward heard him, because that was when the Chicago native retreated into the kitchen to seemingly sulk. Emmett would of followed, but Jasper beat him to it so he decided to let the empath deal with their brother. If there was one thing about Emmett that could get annoying fast, it would have to be his disdain for sour moods. Even when he, himself, was upset, he refused to let anyone else to be. That was also the difference between him and Jasper. The old Confederate wasn’t nearly as pushy as Emmett, and he had the power to fix the problem in a much more subtle manner. This was proven when Edward and Jazz were still in the kitchen when Emmett’s patient wore out.
Edward, if you don’t get your ass out here and have a good time with your family, I will go in there and drag your ass out by your nose.
There it was. A threat that was much more than idle but not quite a promise. Emmett meant well, he really did. He just hated seeing people he cared about down in the dumps to the point they began isolating himself.

Feeling Emmett move her onto his lap, she just made herself more comfortable on his lap as she just leaned her head on her soul mates chest, it was very easy to see that this beautiful golden blonde hair vampire loved Emmett so much because it was so easy for anyone in their family to see how they were together. When she heard Edward’s little grumbles she just let a sly and cheeky smile cross her face, because she knew that it would have bee very funny if Rose had brought one of her brother’s a dress. That would be very funny if I did I could tell who would put it on. when hearing what Emmett had whispered towards her, she then gave another smile, and then a little laugh. This beautiful vampire was so happy and relax sitting on her soul mates lap.
Hearing after thing that was going on in the house, at first she really did not notice Carlisle come into the house, but that was because she was to busy focusing on Emmett. Rose knew that she still had to get her shopping in but she really did not want to move away from Emmett since she had been out shopping all morning. Rosalie knew that there was no point in really answering because she had a feeling that Emmett would all ready know that her answer was yes.
How Rose has behaving been a very rare good mood she was in, and she was in such a good mood because she had gotten everything from the shops. Looking up and around her she then looked toward Carlisle and gave him a nod, it was true that she did now love him as her father, but she was why to happy being with Emmett she was evening staying quiet when he was betting for once in a very rare blue moon. All Rose did was give Emmett another kiss on his cheeks.
