Faith hummed quietly as she sat in the forest her eyes closed as she relaxed when it came down to it. The water around her alone was crashing down as she trained. She had come to the best place that she could find that she would not be disturbed or at least so she hoped so when she thought of things. Since she had been exiled she had traveled alone never really finding her place in the world because she knew where it was and she was not allowed there. As she set her staff down she removed her cloak she dove into the water and swam around carefully soaking in the water as she relaxed. She found things like this relaxing and even though she often felt stressed by what happened water was always the release that she would seek out even as Basil it was never a surprise to find them by the water.
Hearing someone come up she frowned she had placed charms around that meant it was a witch who undid them and started towards the shore and held out her hand and muttered a spell as her staff flew into her waiting hand and she hid among the trees. Already she was in fighting mode knowing that something could be coming her way and then she would have a fight on her hands. The good thing about being alone had been she or Basil when it came to fighting were sharp and could handle a fight by themselves if needed. Before it had always been count on the ones around you now though she thought that she could handle herself. Taking a breath she sunk against the tree and cast a charm that would hide her from view. She needed to see what was coming her way before she made any action pausing she closed her eyes and took a breath and waited.
She had a brief hope that maybe it would be Evran but the thought was shot down. The girl would never recognize her now anyway if it was her. The fact was that she was banned from there would always keep them apart even in the end. Glancing at her chest area just above where her shirt ended was the tattoo with Evran’s name in it framed by roses her favorite flower when they had been growing up and touched it as it brought back memories. Now the Roses were in bloom due to a spell that she had used. Whenever she or Basil looked down at it they felt hope and the happy memories of the past come to the surface. Hearing someone come closer she gripped her staff and waited ready for whatever may come her way.

Evren was a wreck. It could be argued that she had always been such, but it truly wasn’t her fault. She was a good girl for all intents and purposes. She just had a few problems. One of them was her gift, which had been plaguing her for weeks. She couldn’t sleep right because of the images she got from her dreams. These particular images were mild compared to others she had been plagued with but they hadn’t been forthcoming. They were more confusing than not, and she couldn’t discern what was a legitimate vision and what was a nasty dream.
Today was the worst of it. She had just taken a nap and the faces tortured her. Some of them were familiar images of dead friends and family. Most of them were faces of people she had never seen before. It was the images she knew that had her in a bad state. She woke up a frantic mess to find Amber wasn’t home. That was a bad thing on her sisters part. Amberly could usually calm Evren down before she did something stupid, but no one was there for Ev now.
She didn’t drink often at all. It was a recent habit she picked up, and only resorted to it when her mood hit a bottomless pit and she was completely alone. So she got dressed into her favorite outfit as she contented herself with a bottle of Vodka that she stashed away for a moment like this. This wouldn’t have been such a bad thing if Evren could handle alcohol and knew when to call it quits. As it was, she didn’t and so by the time she was done the bottle was almost empty and she was completely wasted.
Drinking helped, but when the effects wore off, everything that had brought the drinking on hit her tenfold and then everything else bad that she kept with her came to the surface. As guilt and fear returned in an unbearable wave, she made her way out the door of the house she shared with her sisters and just started walking. It was a testament to how upset she was now that the alcohol stopped affecting her that she didn’t notice that something was off when she had to pull some countercharms out of her ass to get to the little lake she was headed too. It didn’t register that another witch must have been there and wanted privacy. Instead of respecting the barrier, she made her way to kneel at the edge of the lake.
She muttered an incantation under her breath and just stared at the water. The words, in a language long ago forgotten, had come to her in one of her visions. It was a charm hydromancers once used to enhance the ability to see things in a clearer fashion for the caster of the spell. All that was needed was the spell, a seer to cast the spell (or help cast if the one seeking answers wasn’t one, and some sort of water source. Evren had learned that lakes and other natural bodies of water aside from rivers worked best.
That was why Evren had come there in the first place. She wanted — no, needed — to know why her visions were so difficult to understand. There was an sense of urgency to her visions, but the images made no sense to her. She stared at water for what seemed like hours but was probably only a few minutes. Nothing happened and she began repeating the incantation. Halfway through, a shimmering image appeared in the water followed by another.
That was when Evren completely lost it and started screaming. Tears poured down her face as her body shook. The image stuck there. It didn’t fade away like most did. It stayed there until she aggravated the water with a splash of her hand. Then she collapsed into herself, head buried in her hands as she cried.
”This is all wrong.” she said into her hand not caring that she was talking to herself.

It took her a moment to notice who it was as she came into view Faith put her hand to her mouth and swallowed. She had dealt with so much over the time that she had been exiled but she had never expected to see her. Jumping down from the tree she put her staff into the ground and took a step towards her and paused “Evran?” she asked after a few moments and walked over and hugged her gently wrapping her arms around her and held her as she cried. Then it dawned on her that she would not recognize her “its me Basil” she said quietly “just trust me…I gave you that promise ring on your finger the day that I was banished” something only she would know as she touched the girls hand and a smile came to her face as she saw the ring “you never got rid of it” she whispered quietly feeling touched.
She had thought that she had lost her the day that she had left the village that Evran would have moved on but now she had started to wonder as she took a breath and paused “what’s wrong?” she asked after a few moments her voice soft as she held her close. Something had changed about her as she tried to figure out what to say or do the fact was that she for the most part always thought that she would never be as close as she had been with her. The curse and his banishment would be enough yet when she looked at her she knew that something was right there as she paused “come on lets go back to where I am staying” as she said this she walked over and grabbed her staff and cloak from where they had been left and put them on her name was tattooed on Faith just above her chest area the roses were in full bloom at the moment around her name as she walked over and offered her hand to the girl she loved “come on” she said after a few moments.
She had hoped that one day that they would be able to meet and that things would have gone better “I know…I don’t look like Basil but it is a long story…just trust me” she said and helped her friend up carefully and took a breath to calm herself. Her heart was racing as she closed her eyes and started on the way back to her cottage that she had built with magic and sighed unlocking the door and then walked inside with her as he sighed “welcome to where we have stayed since I was banished” she admitted and walked over and sat down their were a few pictures that hung around on the walls of the cottage some of Basil and her together but also some of Faith alone as she paused and sat down “you have no idea how much I have missed you” she said quietly keeping her voice soft.
This was hard as she stared at Evran knowing the girl was a mess she walked over and hugged her gently wrapping his arms around her “its okay you can cry on my shoulder I am here” she kept her voice soft as she took the time to be around her. Now she wished more then ever that she could become Basil he knew how to handle this better they were to different though the same person she loved Evran just as much as Basil but things had been tough on Faith as she found herself torn between two worlds “I wish…I could give you Basil but I am stuck at the moment for two more weeks” she said quietly “I am sorry Evran…I really am” she said keeping her voice quiet but gentle.

Evren really had expected to be alone so when an unfamiliar voice spoke her name, she nearly jumped out of her skin. She looked up toward the source with a frown, not happy that woman had startled her. She faltered and a small gasp left her as she saw the girl for the first time. A familiar stranger was what she was met with. Frown deepening, she opened her mouth to demand to know who the woman was but was interrupted as she spoke. However, the introduction wasn’t what Ev expected and only made things worse.
“It’s me Basil.”
Evren stopped crying immediately and just shook her head in denial. This was a sick joke. It had to be, and Evren wasn’t finding it amusing. She was about to say as much when the girl mentioned one of the rings she was wearing. Frowning, she looked down at it as she spoke. The ring was a blue heart stone with little diamonds in darker blue outlining the larger stone. The metal frame could’ve been silver or white gold. She wasn’t sure, had never asked. It wasn’t important. It could have been made of plastic, and Evren would have still been wearing it. Knowing that, she frowned at the tone of surprise that came with the girls declaration that she kept it.
“I don’t understand,” she said, her frown deepening.
She was captivated by this whole situation, but when the girl — Basil or whomever she was — asked her what was wrong, Evren just shook her head. If she tried her hardest to keep the worst of her thoughts from her sister, then she wasn’t about to tell anyone else. Besides, she was starting to feel all her emotions draining to the point she really could care less about anything around her. At least, she wasn’t crying or feeling like she would rather be home and never leave her bed again.
“come on lets go back to where I am staying”
Evren didn’t say anything. She just watched the girl walk away to grab her things. That was when she finally noticed the tattoo, but she didn’t acknowledge it or ask about it. It wasn’t important. Nothing mattered right now. She didn’t matter. Basil didn’t matter. All Evren wanted to do was go home and lock herself up in her room. Still when Basil offered her a hand, she took it and allowed herself to be helped up. She stopped truly listening to the other witch as she was led off. Maybe should have been worried, but she felt nothing but indifference. She let the witch lead sit her down and looked around.
“its okay you can cry on my shoulder I am here”
“I’m fine,” she said, carefully putting a little distance between them. “What happened?”

Faith watched her as she seemed to calm down as she put her cloak in the closet and paused “not long after the banishment I came across a witch that cursed us” she was speaking in third person as she walked to the bed and sat down and brushed her hair from her eyes “since then we have been wandering mostly but finally settled in Forks as it was closer to you and the others” watching her face for reaction she paused “every month…we change this month I will be here as Faith and then he comes as Basil…and so on” she paused as she stretched out on the couch and paused “it…is difficult we are the same person but also different in many ways” she admitted and paused “it…was hard at first but we adjusted to it and…have gotten used to it” she admitted and blushed “no matter what form…either this or Basil we never stopped loving you it has never faded” she admitted and looked into her eyes.
Pausing she stood and walked over “what’s happening back at the village?” she asked after a few moments “is everyone okay?” she asked after a few moments. It was clear that she cared about them still even after the banishment but Evran was the most important person to her as she hugged her gently “Evran…I may not look like Basil but I still remember everything that happened…if I can help just ask I told you I would give anything for you…that has not changed and never will no matter what I may look like” she paused as she touched her cheek and ran her fingers along the woman’s skin “you grew a few inches” she teased playfully though in fact she had just shrunk when she had changed into Faith. It was a part of life as the world would change when she did things were never the same every time that she would change. Pausing she watched her “I hope…I haven’t freaked you out to much” she said her voice just barely above a whisper.
Things could either go one way or another as she rested her hands inside of her pockets “I never thought I would see you again…I have missed you more then anything in this world” she admitted. Taking a breath she paused and closed her eyes and gave her some space and paused “it is good to see you are well” she admitted. Though she seemed to be having a nervous breakdown before but was more composed now at least “is their anything I can get you?” she asked after a few moments her voice soft and kind as she watched Evran for a reaction…if she would get any.
