Concentrating on breathing evenly was harder than she would have expected with Jacob so close to her. She could just reach out and touch his face maybe, or his arm, hand. Inhale, exhale. Inhale, exhale. He was right there. You’ve got Jace. You can’t do anything to hurt Jace. You have to be what Jace wants and needs. That’s how imprinting works. Yeah, well imprinting was supposed to take away feelings for anyone else. She supposed it should be easier for her than for Jacob. Jake’s imprint looked like a child. She was a child. At least Leah’s was an adult. With… a kid of his own. Okay, a bit odd. But she had to be good anyway, because they protected the… Cullens… now, and they had their little mind reader. There was no way she’d be able to hide something like kissing Jake if that happened, and then said mind reader would want to rip her head off. Actually, that might be a bit fun - a good reason to take a few shots at the blood sucker. Then again, Jake would probably side with them because of his little child imprint.
“Yeah. Yeah, I’m ready.” She downed her glass of milk and then rinsed it out in the sink, out of habit. She hated having to scrub dishes at home so she always rinsed things out. She was wondering now if doing this whole patrol thing with Jake was a good idea. There was something between them, at least on Leah’s side, and it was going to be a bit dangerous when they got near enough to the bloodsucker house. They’d have to keep their minds really shielded. Might be… fun. Okay, so danger could be a bit exciting.
She followed Jake outside and bit her lip. This time, she didn’t look away as he shifted, apparently not feeling awkward at all about being naked in front of her. Then again, what did he have to feel awkward about? He was really fit and happy in his weird relationship with Renesmee. As if willing herself to be just as normal as Jacob, Leah stuck her tongue out when he told her to take off the clothes first. “Anxious to see all this again, Jacob Black?” she teased. Truthfully, she wasn’t really ashamed of her body. On the reservation she walked around wearing a bra and some shorts, or a bathing suit. She wasn’t opposed to lying on the beach in a bikini, especially on the rare days the sun was out. But something about Jake being there, able to look at her - that made her heart beat just a bit faster than normal.
“Show off,” she said playfully as Jake phased in the air. Leah forced herself to be as nonchalant as she usually was around the pack and lifted the shirt over her head, draping it on the back of the chair with Jake’s pants. She purposefully kept her eyes off of the red-brown wolf because she knew she’d probably freeze up if she looked at him. She slid the boxers off and draped them next to the shirt she’d been wearing, stepped off the front porch so she wouldn’t break the house, and phased. Her wolf eyes looked at Jake for a moment, and then she started at a slow run toward the forest. The last thing they needed was the cops out looking for giant bears again. She snorted at the thought, knowing Jake would have heard it. Funny huh, she thought. How much different things are now. She wasn’t in any hurry to get to the Forks forests, so she kept her pace light and easy.

This time Jake looked the complete opposite way of Leah. He didn't feel the need to even look when she was about to phase. There was no way he wanted her to hear his thoughts about that one. As he watched her fly on past him, Jake got back up on all fours and followed behind her. His tail moved from side to side. 'Don't think, don't think.' Jake thought to himself, not realizing Leah could hear everything he was thinking. 'Shit!' he winced. There were times he wished she couldn't hear anything he was thinking.
Gradually picking up his pace, Jake hurdled off into the woods. Police had still been searching the woods for the bears that had been "killing humans." The last thing he needed was to get caught. That right there would ruin everything they had ever hidden from the normal world. But then, it would have been nice if he could be at least normal again. Maybe for a day. No longer than that; he would miss it.
Coming to a small creek, Jake stopped and looked back to Leah. All he wanted to do was just try an kiss her; see how it felt. But he wasn't about to do that. Alice could see everything in her range, besides his own. And it would upset Nessie if she had found that out. Arching back, he made a giant leap across to the Forks forest. He could tell Leah didn't really want to come, but she had too. At least she had him for company- besides the cullens. 'Cheer up Lee.' He spoke, making way for the house. 'I'm your company for a while, and then Seth will be in.'
Finally. There they had stood in front of the house. He could smell his lovely Renesmee, but knew not to bother her this late at night. The last thing he had needed was Edward on his ass. Looking over to an old Birch Wood tree, Jake made a seat. Maybe it wasn't so safe to be around the house at the moment. After all, his thought were running wild. 'You can come sit by me.' He laughed. 'I don't bite... hard.' Maybe he should have eased up on his jokes. But who was to really know if he had meant them.
Looking to one of the bedroom windows, he had noticed a small night light on. His heart began to flutter and he himself began to whine. 'Stay here.' He spoke softly, making his way over. There through the window pane laid Renesmee, fast asleep, and comfortable. He loved seeing her this way. After all, he did love her. She was his Nessie. Letting out another whine, he looked back to Leah who had been sitting there. What was going on with him? His heart was beginning to ache. But why? Cutting all thoughts, he umped back down from the window; making his way back to Leah.

Even in wolf form Leah managed a giggle at Jake’s thoughts. Don’t think don’t think, she thought to him in a playfully mocking tone. Playing was easy between the two - something natural. Despite feeling awkward in his presence, she was also very comfortable with him. She could trust Jacob. She thought she could trust Seth, but as it turned out, Seth was being a bit of a rebellious pain at the moment. It was no wonder she liked Jake. Though the two didn’t always agree or get along, they both did what they thought was right for the pack. And they’d both had a difficult love life. Jacob with Isabella and Renesmee, and Leah with Sam, Jake, and Jace. Oh well shit, he could hear her thoughts. Sorry, she apologized. I should be used to censoring thoughts by now…
Her paws kicked up dirt until they reached the stream. Copying Jake she took a running leap over it. This stream wasn’t a problem though her body and legs were shorter than Jacob’s. She could have swam through it just as easily, but she didn’t want to have to shift back into a human form with wet hair. She really didn’t want to be near here, but she wasn’t going to back out of it either. This was her job and she was dedicated to it, even if she wasn’t fond of being a bloodsucker guard dog. But Leah had responsibilities, and she knew that Jake knew he could trust her to do her job. She wasn’t one to back out of something.
She could hear Jake tell her to cheer up, that Seth would be here to take over shortly. Oh yeah, like I really want him in my head. You sure he’s gonna show up? Maybe he’s filling out Florida college applications. Her thoughts were bitter and sarcastic, but she was sure Jake would get that she didn’t mean to be sarcastic at him - her anger was directed at her little brother, who Leah thought should be more willing to do his duties as a werewolf instead of trying to move away in the hope of being able to stop shifting. Did he know how much power that was going to take?
Leah went to sit by Jacob, but then Jake got up to check on the house. She could hear his thoughts about Renesmee, how he loved her and wanted her to be happy and all that lousy imprint stuff. Leah couldn’t help it, her jealousy showed through her thoughts, even if she wasn’t thinking anything in particular. Her thoughts were just a mess of confusion, jealousy, and anger at the moment. She tried to clear her head as Jacob came back to sit by her, but it was no use. Now that she’d let her thoughts flood her mind it was hard to close them off. She wanted so bad to shift back into human form and just kiss him, hold him, just be near him. But she knew it was wrong. She had to keep reminding herself that they both had imprints. What would you do if… Renesmee… she forced herself to think the name grew up and still only thought of you as family? she asked.

Jacob had noticed Leah's hard time with censoring her thoughts. But he wasn't angry at all. He knew she had felt a little indifferent about the whole situation with him and Nessie. And a little part of him was beginning to feel the same way. Taking a seat next to her by the tree; he pushed his body up close to hers. Trying to make her feel a little better about this whole thing. After all, she was the one close to him right now. Not Renesmee. So there she should have at least felt a little better about herself. If not, at least he tried.
He could feel his heart begin to beat faster as the night began to lead on. It had been weeks since he and Leah had ever spent this much time together. Usually he was with his imprint all of the time. But, a job was a job and he had to do it. 'Leah?' he asked, inching himself away to lay down. Everything in his body began to grow weak. As if the pain he was now feeling; was beginning to drain him immensely. 'Do you think its safe for us to talk around here? Or should we just wait until we get back to my home here in a few hours?' Yes. Jake had finally wanted to talk to her about everything that had been going through his mind. He just didn't want to talk about it around the home of Renesmee.
Burying his nose under his paw, he let out a loud breath of air. As he started to shut his eyes he heard Leah speak up. Picking his head up off the ground, he looked to her. That was a good question honestly. What if she only seen him as an Uncle figure. Not a boyfriend or husband material. Jake got that sinking feeling deep down in his stomach. 'I-I don't know. I never really thought about that.' Jake had found himself crushed deep inside. That was how she had seen him now. And for some reason, it seamed it was going to stay that way.
Adjusting himself yet again, Jake just got up. He was too squirmy to lay still. And maybe even a little too hyped up. The time had seamed to be flying by quickly. What a relief it was. He could finally go home and just relax. But hopefully Seth did show up this time. He seamed to be well into that imprint of his. 'Im still disgusted in Seth. Fighting behind our backs I hear.' Shaking his head, he stood at the edge of the woods.

Leah sniffed the air. She didn’t smell a strong scent of the mind reading leech, but that didn’t mean she was comfortable letting her thoughts out in the open like that. If the mind reader did come back for something. And the hybrid was there, she didn’t want to talk so close to Jake’s imprint. Besides, conversations usually went better when they weren’t in each other’s head. Maybe we should wait, Jake. She thought, lying down, her head resting on her front paws. She whimpered a little; Leah didn’t really want to wait to talk, she was afraid she’d lose her nerve if they waited, but she couldn’t see how they could talk right now. It might be better if we were able to arrange our thoughts, and just speak out loud, ya know? But, it’s probably safe if it can’t wait… She added the last part, not knowing if he wanted to talk about what she thought he wanted to talk about or not. In any case, she didn’t need her mind more confused while at work.
Almost immediately, Leah was sorry she’d brought up the idea of what if the hybrid only ever viewed Jacob as family. She hadn’t thought that he’d take the question that seriously, she’d only wondered what someone would do, what Jake would do, if their imprint only wanted friendship or something, not a romantic relationship. They had to be what their imprints wanted them to be. I’m sorry I brought it up, Jake. I just wondered, that was all. It doesn’t really seem all that fair. She whimpered a little bit again, hoping he could see that she hadn’t meant to make him feel bad.
She watched Jacob get up, and Leah got to her own feet. I really am sorry. She thought, looking around and sniffing at the air. And I’m very angry with Seth as well. That kid really needs to learn some responsibility. Her thoughts went back to when she’d used the beta voice on Seth to stop him from shifting so he couldn’t run away from their conversation. She couldn’t help it, the entire situation was just laid out there in her mind for Jacob to see with as much clarity as Leah had witnessed it. She’d started out with coffee, watching him with applications. How Seth had run out. How Leah had used the voice and Seth compared her to Sam. How he’d accused Leah of trying to make him her slave.
The female wolf shook her head, trying to get the painful thoughts to leave. Seth knew exactly how to push her buttons sometimes. We could run around the house maybe. A perimeter check? I do that a lot when I’m here by myself. It would get us moving at least… doing something. Leah was anxious to get them doing anything until Seth could take over, just so they’d be able to get back into human form.

Brushing off the thought of Renesmee only seeing him as a friend, Jake turned back to Leah. Taking her up on the offer to check the perimeter. After all, it would kill time. Then he could go back to his house and finally sit and talk to Leah like he had wanted too the whole night. Getting off of his butt, Jake began to rummage around the home. Nothing had caught him off guard. Not even a scent of those ruthless blood-suckers. The woods had looked clear, and the sky was bright. It was beautiful- Stars laid out like a blanket, and surrounded one another.
After a good while of scanning everything, he noticed nothing to be wrong. It was clear. Weight had been lifted off his chest freely. Letting out a small whimper, he caught a small scent of Seth. He knew he had to of been half-way here. It was a shame he chose to tune Jacob out. After all, he was the one who gave him the chance to even be in his pack. Scuffing the dark ground, Jake turned to Leah and moved his head to the side. Motioning for them both to leave. 'Lets go.' He wasn't about to hang around and get all tangled up in Seth's problems. That wasn't for him. And Leah didn't need it either!
With anger, Jake stormed off. Seth was really starting to drive him insane. It was like taking care of a three year old. He never listened. Avoiding as many trees as possible, Jake flew through the forest. All he needed right now was a good, steady run. 'Keeping up?' He asked Leah, making sure she was still close. He hated to be like this. All he could hope was she didn't think he was taking it out on her. That was the last thing he needed. Looking ahead, he watched as the house light grew closer. His heart was racing like crazy. And honestly, it was a good thing he got out of there.
Coming to a dead stop, Jake looked back for Leah who was beside him. Not even caring, he jumped up onto the porch and phased back right in front of her. His pants still laid over the chair. Picking them up, he threw them on. His blood pressure sky rocketed. Who knew someone like that could work him up to a point he can't even take his own body heat? Opening the house door, he boleted inside. Every vessel in his body standing out. "Why?!" He yelled, punching the wall. "It makes me so MAD when that boy doesn't listen to me!"

Seth’s closed mind hit Leah’s like a rock against a brick wall. So this was how it was going to be then? Fine. There was no hesitation when Jake said they could go. Leah wanted out of there and in human for as fast as physically possible. She didn’t need Seth’s shit right now, she’d had enough. She wondered if that was the reason Jacob was so eager to get back to his house or if it was more for the talk that he wanted to have. Either way, Leah wanted to have the comfort of being a human again. Emotions were easier to deal with when she was a wolf, but she didn’t think she could handle the silence between her and Seth. Not tonight. For once, keeping up with Jake was a challenge, not a difficult one, but he was faster than usual, she noticed. From the anger she could feel rolling off of him? Directed at her or Seth? When he asked if she was keeping up, she got her answer. Seth then.
Yes, I’m keeping up. And don’t worry, I get it. Seth is being a right little prick. She darted over the stream, not stopping at it this time. She was as anxious as Jake to get back to the house, though she was also a bit afraid of what might happen there, especially with them both upset like this. Seth was creating a lot of problems for the pack by wanting to leave. This was just not acceptable. Leah would put her foot down if she had to. She didn’t want to, but if her or Jake ordered Seth to stay, he’d have to. Seth would probably hate her for the rest of his very long life (since werewolves didn’t age until they stopped shifting), but it would be for the best. And she didn’t want Jake to have to do it. There was no need for Seth to be angry with their Alpha.
She watched Jake shift, and was glad that he wasn’t in wolf form with the feeling of lust crept over her. But this was not the time to think about Jacob Black’s perfect naked body. Leah shifted back without thinking that she was naked in front of Jacob, and began dressing in the clothes that she had earlier. She watched Jake punch the wall as she was still putting on the boxers. She didn’t even have the shirt on yet and already Jake was starting to demolish the house. Billy wouldn’t be too happy, but then again, Jake wouldn’t really care about that. Seth was what he cared about right now.
Leah quickly put the shirt on, not noticing that it was inside out and made her way to Jake, taking his arm, sure he did more damage to the wall than himself but having to check his knuckles anyway. “I know, I know. I’m sorry about him. I’ll take care of it.” She hoped that would calm him down a bit. “If I have to order him to stay here, I will. He can’t keep you out of his head forever and I think he’s too attached to the Cullens to stop protecting him as long as he has to be here…” She dropped his arm, realizing how close she was to him and took a step backward. She coughed awkwardly to clear her throat and looked at the table.

Jake held as much of his composure as possible. He listened as Leah had apologized for her brothers misbehavior. He didn't see why she had too. It wasn't her fault. Seth could blame himself for his own actions. "Don't apologize for him, Leah. Obviously he hasn't grown up just yet. " Exhaling, he turned to look at her. His eyes swelling with nothing but anger; There wasn't one thing that he wouldn't have done for that kid. Hell, he defended him so many times, Jacob had begun to loose count.
He listened to he talk about how she would find a way to make him stay. But in his eyes, he found it quite hard to do. Seth was his own person now. He had an imprint. And to him, it seamed she had meant more than he or Leah. Jake felt her drop his arm, taking a step back. "You could always try, but I think he is too far into his imprint to even change his mind on anything." With an irritated chuckle, he made his way over to the recliner. "I mean look at him! He went behind our back's. His dumb-ass could have gotten killed."
Turning the tube on, Jake let out a loud and noticeable sigh. He was sick of trying with the kid. It was time for him to just leave it and let him go on his way. He ran his fingers gently over his face tilting his head back against the cushion. All he wanted to do was erase everything from his mind about him. There was no way Seth was about to ruin Jacob's night/morning. He had been planning on talking to Leah all day, and that's what he was going to do.
Getting back out of his recliner, Jake made his way into the kitchen yet again. He was hungry. But then again, what wolf wouldn't be hungry after the haul they had just made? Grabbing a piece of fudge cake, Jake turned around and offered a slice to Leah. He knew she had to of been hungry as well. "Eat it." he joked, propping himself up onto the cupboard. With a slight glance, he had noticed her shirt being inside out. His face lit up with laughter as he pointed it out to her. Jumping from the counter top, Jake walked over to her. "Don't you look cute in my inside-out shirt." Actually, she was looking very cute in his clothes. And he liked it.

Leah choked on her breath as Jake mentioned that Seth could have been killed. That was the last thing a sister wanted to hear about her brother. Leah had already lost her father, she didn’t want to lose her brother too. Maybe that was why she felt so close to Jacob, because Jake had lost his mother. Only, Jake hadn’t lost his mother right around the time he shifted. Leah was almost positive it was the knowledge that his daughter was a werewolf that had caused his heart attack and ultimately, his death. Leah didn’t think she could take losing another family member. She hadn’t even moved out of Sue’s house because she was afraid her mom might be next. And now Seth was going and ruining everything. Jake was right, Seth could have been killed, going off on his own like that. And now her brother was doing his best to tune out their thoughts. “He can’t ignore a pack command…” Leah’s voice was soft, thoughtful. She’d do it if it kept her brother safe.
The female shifter stayed in the kitchen while Jake went into the living room. She needed to organize her thoughts, separate the Seth issues from why she was still here instead of at home in her bed, sleeping away the day in preparation for the next shift. She leaned up against the counter, arms crossed across her chest as she tried to get her thoughts in order. Normally, Leah was very confident, almost to the point of being overly confident. She didn’t let anyone put her down and she almost always knew what she wanted. She was the kind of person who saw what needed to be done and did it. She was the kind of woman who people looked up to as being strong, if hard headed.
When Jake came back, Leah’s thoughts still weren’t where she wanted them to be. Then again, did she even know where she wanted them anymore? She knew where they should be. They should be wondering what Jace was doing. But all she could think about was that she was still in Jacob’s house and there was something he’d wanted to talk to her about. She snickered when he told her to eat the piece of cake that he offered her. Leah took it but thought about saying something about how she was trying to watch her figure, though she knew that was a lie since she didn’t have to worry about how she looked. She never seemed to gain any weight.
She took a bite of the cake. Jake jumped of the counter again and walked over to her; her breath caught in her throat and she found it difficult to swallow the piece of cake in her mouth. With some difficulty, she managed. And Jake was teasing her again. She looked down as he indicated that the shirt she was wearing was on inside out. Leah set the plate down on the counter. “Well I was paying more attention to your little temper tantrum than what I was putting on at the time,” she joked back. She stepped away just a bit and took the shirt off over her head, turned it inside right, and then put it back on, forcing herself to feel as confident as she would have given a different sort of company.
“So, what did you want to talk about anyway? You wondered if it was safe to talk about it in wolf form.” She tried to work her voice into being indifferent, but it didn’t happen. She could hear her voice shake slightly. God, how does he do that? she wondered.

Jake shifted his brown eyes in Leah's direction, as she began to take off around the corner to change his shirt around. He watched as she walked away. Oddly enough, he began to choke on his own breath. There was something he had seen in her, and he hated more than ever to admit it. She was beautiful. Her long silky brown hair, and gorgeous blue eyes had always stunned him for some reason. 'STOP IT JAKE!' he screamed murderously in his head. She wasn't Renesmee. Jake had his imprint. But why did this feeling begin to come on so strong? Leah was his beta. Nothing more! Or so that was what he had wanted to think.
Running his fingers along the top of his jeans, Jake let out a very faint sigh. The thoughts built themselves up again when he didn't want them too. Now all he could think about was holding her. Leaning back up against the counter top, Jake laid his head back closing his eyes tightly. He could feel her against him. His fingers searching through her long, beautiful hair. And her lips; what it would have been like to just kiss her. Maybe then, he could figure things out. Maybe there wouldn't be that connection like he had thought. Chocking down a swallow, felt his heart begin to skip random beats. Indeed, he was nervous. He honestly didn't think he could trust himself around Leah. There was a weird attraction, and he felt it.
Opening his eyes, he noticed Leah standing directly in front of him. He shirt was finally fixed. As soon as she asked about what he had to say, his heart slowly sunk. He wished he had never said anything about talking with her, but he also knew it had to happen sooner or later. Taking himself away from the counter, Jake grinned at her. Not taking his eyes away. "Well- Leah." He began slowly, his palms growing sweaty. "You and I have known each other for a while now. And It's great having you around.. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have you here to back me up. Even if you don't like the Cullen's." Stopping right there, He made his way over to her.
His heart began to skip multiple beats this time. He could have sworn he heard it outside of his body. "Even though you and I fight... allot... That doesn't seem to matter anymore. We have grown so close... and... well.. I just don't want to ruin that." Reaching out, Jake grabbed hold of her hand and brought it too him. Everything in his body was telling him to get closer, so he was. Grabbing her wrist with the other hand, Jake opened it up and interlocked their fingers. Her hands were so soft, and yet so warm. Looking her over, He smiled. She did look good in his clothes.
Jake's facial features began to soften. With a free hand, he placed it upon Leah's hip. He had never been this close to a girl before. Even though he kissed Bella, it just wasn't the same. "I don't know what it is that I feel, but... its actually unexplainable." All he could see was her. Everything surrounding them was now gone in his eyes. It was the same way he had felt when he first seen Renesmee. But there was no way he could imprint twice. That was just impossible. Never in his life had he ever heard any of the pack members talk about this kind of stuff. "Leah, If you want me to stop.... tell me." Jake's breathing began to pick up pace, and his body grow warmer.

You shouldn’t be here. You should go home and go to bed. You shouldn’t be thinking about Jacob Black. He’s your frickin’ Alpha for crying out loud! Then again, the more Leah thought about it, the more it made sense. The part that struggled to find sense in this crazy situation argued fiercely with the part of her that thought this was wrong. But in real wolf packs, wasn’t the strongest female always with the strongest male? There was no doubt in Leah’s mind she was the strongest female because, at least in this pack and as far as she knew of elsewhere, she was the only female. And there was no doubting she was strong. She wasn’t going to brag about it, but she wasn’t going to deny it either. Wasn’t that the way animals were supposed to act? Didn’t you look for whatever would make your offspring stronger in a mate? Wasn’t Jake exactly that person? Leah tried not to remember the fact that she was pretty sure she wouldn’t be able to have kids.
It was harder than it should have been to stand so close to Jake, right there, close enough to touch. She couldn’t stop thinking that she wanted to be closer. She wanted, more than anything right now, to have him wrap his arms around her and just stay there for however long it took to feel whole - completely whole. The imprint was supposed to do that. That’s why this was so wrong. But if it was so wrong, why did she want it so badly? He was moving closer to her and for a second she thought he might actually do it, that maybe this was some dream and she’d wake up in bed, depressed that this hadn’t actually happened, because she didn’t really think there was any way he would be thinking the same things. He had his little hybrid. Then again, she had her human and she was definitely having feelings for Jacob.
Her breath caught in her throat for what felt like the hundredth time. Being near Jake was seriously going to be a danger to her physical health, and she didn’t care one bit. As if to make her health go in question even further, Jake grabbed her hand and interlaced their fingers. Her heart couldn’t make up its mind if it wanted to beat rather fast or skip whole beats together. Maybe it would just stop. She couldn’t take her eyes from the man in front of her. Leah was seriously worried she was going to start hyperventilating. Making sense of Jake’s words was harder than it should have been - Leah was too focused on how physically close he was to her. She got something about them fighting a lot and it not mattering. Okay, so he did feel the same way about her as she did for him? And how wrong was it that she wanted that to be true?
His hands were as warm as hers, being a werewolf came with a temperature rise, but they scorched her for some reason. An invisible burn mark wherever they touched her and she found that she liked the feeling. It was so different from having a human touch her. Why couldn’t wolves imprint on other wolves? It would make this so much easier on her mind. Almost as soon as Jake’s hand touched Leah’s hip, she knew she wouldn’t be stopping this. Imprint or no imprint, this was something. Maybe the only reason no one had ever known this feeling was because she was the first female werewolf. Maybe the bond between an Alpha and Beta was stronger than people thought. She swallowed so she could speak. “Really, really, unexplainable…” she agreed, her voice only coming out in a whisper.
As if her limbs were now making their own decisions, Leah’s free hand slid up Jake’s chest and around his neck, or as far as it could really, Leah was actually quite short compared to Jacob, standing at 5’4” compared to his 6’5”. Automatically she stood on the tips of her toes. “I’m not going to ask you to stop, Jake…” She had to pull herself up a bit, good thing Leah had some upper body strength because Jake was just over a foot taller than her, but she managed to press her lips to his. All of her thoughts disappeared almost immediately and the only thing that mattered was this moment - right here, in Jakes kitchen.

Jake felt he hand trail his chest, making its way up towards his neck. His heart felt as if it had completely stopped for a brief second. Her body was now up close to his, making his mind spin out of control. At this moment, Jake wasn't even thinking about Renesmee. She was the last thing on his mind. All he could see was Leah, standing right there in front of him. The heat from her body radiating off onto his. "Then, I'm not going to stop." Pushing his hand to the small of her back, he pulled her in closer to him. Of course she was a little shorter than he was, but that didn't stop him one bit. There was something between the two of them and he damn well knew it. Crazy enough, it was a much stronger connection than he and Renesmee had shared.
In a way, Jake found Leah to be right. Renesmee was a little too young for him. He wasn't able to kiss or hold her like he could Leah. She was more his age. And she understood him when no one else had. Nessie couldn't console Jake when he really needed it, nor could she help him out with his problems. She was young. Could it be his feelings for the young girl had been slipping away with every step closer he had taken to Leah? No. It couldn't have been. But, in all reality, it was. Jake was now officially stuck between the two. Why? He just didn't understand. Imprinting was supposed to be for one, not two. He could hear the question Leah had asked him earlier. What if Renesmee had only seen him as family and nothing else? That would tear him to shreds.
As Leah pulled on his neck, Jake found himself getting much closer than before. He could feel the warmth from her lips getting closer to his. As soon as they locked lips, Jake's heart began to melt. It was perfect. Pulling his hand from hers, he brought it up to the back of her head, gently caressing her hair. It was soft. Jake had imagined it so perfectly. But now, it was happening. Leah was now in his arms- close. Just like he had wanted her. Passionately he began to kiss her, not wanting to let go. It was the best feeling in the world. Even better than the kiss he had shared with Bella.
Pulling back, he brushed the hair from Leah's eyes. He couldn't stop staring at her. She was just so perfect. "Leah, do you feel that?" He asked softly, referring to the feeling he had felt about her. It was as if he had been kissed for the first time. Why Sam didn't take her, he wasn't sure. But Jake had wanted her now. He wanted her in every way possible. He finally had someone to hold now. Someone like him. Running his hands back through her hair, Jake began to kiss her again. He just couldn't stop. He kisses were beginning to feel more and more like a drug.
Quickly, but Gently, Jake picked Leah up. Without any problem, he found his way down the dark hallway and into his bedroom, feeling around for the light. "One second." He spoke, pulling his lips from hers and setting her down. Being the way he was, Jake hurried through his room, picking up random clothes on the floor. For some reason, he was particular about his room being cleaned. Before, he didn't care one bit. She was just Leah to him at the time. But now, she meant more. Pushing his clothes from the bed, Jake made and opening spot for the two of them to sit down. Reaching for her hand, he pulled her towards him. His lips locking with hers yet again.

This wasn’t the way things were supposed to be between Jacob and Leah, but that didn’t really matter now. Leah’s mind had already argued the whole strong male and strong female go together thing and if anyone asked, she guessed that’s how she would explain it, because there really was no other explanation. Leah just wanted Jake. Like she’d never wanted anyone before. Not Sam, not her imprint, though those were two others who Leah, when not in such close proximity (and when able to think clearly, which wasn’t going to happen with Jake around), definitely needed in her life. There was no doubting the hold an imprint had over a wolf, but whatever was here between her and Jake just felt right, even if in some corner of her brain she knew they’d pay for it with, quite possibly, their lives later. This was what it would be like if neither of them were wolves. If neither of them had imprinted, she would be with Jacob Black, there was no doubt in her mind of that right now. Because the two of them had similar lives and a common purpose, even if that purpose was something Leah didn’t completely like (couldn’t get around it, she wasn’t a fan of bloodsuckers and she figured she never would be).
Jake’s hands were in her hair which meant her other hand was free to move around him to pull them closer. She wasn’t afraid of hurting Jacob like she would have been with anyone else, the exception being Sam since he, too, was a shifter. Not physically hurting him. If her mind was clear, she would have been more worried about how they were going to hide this with that nifty little mind reader around and the way that the imprinting practically forced the wolves to be whatever the imprint needed. It felt more like chains now than it had before - now that Leah knew that being with Jake was an actual possibility. How long had she gone on hiding that she cared about the Alpha?
She had a bit of trouble trying to focus when Jake pulled away and pushed the hair from her face. Did she feel it? Well, she felt something what it was was a mystery right now. Something strong. Something that she’d never felt before. It hadn’t been this strong before with Jake, maybe because she was never physically this close to him. Maybe because it was just recently that they’d been going through so much together. Maybe it was because right now, they both hated Leah’s brother with a passion that would burn fire itself, though she was sure there was more to it than that. So she just nodded and tried to catch her breath.
It was hard to keep their lips unlocked for any portion of time, even just to come back for breath. Leah noticed that she wanted to be as close as physically possible, as close as they could get and it didn’t matter if her body was hurt in the process. They weren’t close enough if they weren’t pressed together. If she hadn’t been a werewolf, she probably wouldn’t have noticed that Jacob had lifted her from the ground and began moving. As it was, she did gasp a little from surprise, but after brief consideration, thought that it would probably be best not to be making out in Billy’s kitchen in case said parental unit wheeled himself in.
Leah’s lips pressed into a line as she was set down on her feet, but she couldn’t hold in the soft laugh when Jake started to pick up his room. “I’ve seen your room like this before… just a few hours ago, in fact.” Not to mention that Leah’s room was in the same, if not worse, condition as Jacob Black’s. If this kept up, she thought she’d probably have to clean her room. She remembered the way she left it earlier - clothes everywhere, bed unmade, laptop lying somewhere on the floor, and her beach bag that hadn’t been used in forever with its contents spilled out in a messy group in front of her closet… oh, and that towel out back she had before she shifted. Leah realized they were more like each other than she had originally thought as she gave a second glance to the room.
It wasn’t long before Jake was reaching for her and Leah made her way to the bed, pulling him close again. It was a remarkable feeling to just be able to be this close to him. “We’re going to be in so much trouble…” Her voice came out as a whisper, but there was no sense of caring about said trouble that they would be in. She’d take whatever came her way for just this moment.

Jake placed his finger over Leah's lips. He didn't even want to hear about getting in trouble right now. Everything they were doing was perfectly right in his eyes. Renesmee was the last thing on his mind at that moment. All he had wanted was to be close to her. As soon as she made it on the bed, he felt her begin to pull him closer. He could tell she didn't want to let go either. Placing one hand on her shoulder, Jake began to think about the consequences. Renesmee was able to see things. How would he be able to stay around her without her wanting to touch him? That little girl was more than close to him.
Trying his best to wipe the thoughts of Nessie, Jake pulled back to look at Leah again. He could tell she was everything he had ever wanted in a girl. It just killed him that he had imprinted on such a young girl. But then, he couldn't help it. "You better not just up and leave by morning." He joked, placing his finger under her chin. He had seen it in movies. After people were done, expressing themselves to one another, the girl would up and leave. Or sometimes it was the other way around. But then again, Jake didn't want her to leave at all. Looking into her eyes, Jake smiled laying his lips on hers taking them away from reality.
------------- -------------
Jake awoke the next morning to the sunlight pouring through his bedroom window. Pushing the covers back, he notice Leah- perfectly sound asleep. He was glad she didn't decide to leave before he had gotten up. Honestly, he would have been horribly heartbroken. Leah Clearwater had meant everything to him now. Jake was beginning to see everything in a total different view. She was his kind, his breed, something Renesmee wasn't. But he couldn't let this get out. If it were to reach the Cullen's, Jake knew there would be nothing but a battle between him and the cullens. That was the last thing he needed after they had already called it even.
Rolling over, he tossed his arm around Leah, pulling her as close as he possibly could. This was perfect. He was able to express himself to someone that he loved. And crazy enough, Jake believed he did love Leah. She was his first. His everything now. Shutting his eyes, he began to think of Seth, and Sam. What would they say? He was sure Seth wouldn't be too happy, but really, he didn't mean anything to Jake right now. He had been so fed up with his nonsense. There was no use in Jake talking to him. Slowly reaching over, Jake kissed Leah gently on the cheek in hopes of waking her up. He wasn't sure if his father was home.

Even in sleep Leah couldn’t believe what had just happened. She knew she was a few years older than Jacob, but he was everything she needed and wanted. How could she have thought this wasn’t how it was supposed to be? Everyone was supposed to get some sort of choice in who they were with, but she knew no one would understand if she told them about how her and Jake felt. If this wasn’t all just a dream anyway. She was afraid that when she woke up it would all disappear. But she was vaguely aware that something was wrapped around her and then felt something touch her cheek. For a brief moment she was afraid to open her eyes, what if she was back in her room and late for a shift? But that thought was quickly dismissed as she realized nothing would be kissing her in her room. She blinked a few times and allowed her eyes to adjust to her surroundings. She was still in Jacob’s room, covered up in Jacob’s blanket, though it was really too hot - no wonder she felt like she was in a sauna - it occurred to her that putting two people together with the same very high body temperature would probably do that, but she was reluctant to unwrap herself from the blanket because she had, at some point during the night, removed the shirt and boxers Jake had let her wear. Odd that she should be so self conscious about herself after what had just happened, but Leah had nothing to compare this feeling to. She’d never been with Sam like this, though she was sure people had assumed they’d been together in bed, and she refused to get close enough to her imprint to allow it to happen.
A smile formed on her face as she took in Jake’s appearance. She moved so her head could rest on his chest and listened to his heart beat. This was comforting. This was what she wanted for the rest of… however long they lived, whether that was forever or a night. She was sure that when this got out they would both be in big trouble with the Cullens, with Sue and Charlie, with Billy, and with her imprint. But that was okay. She wouldn’t have changed what had happened between them.
“I didn’t leave.” Her voice was a whisper, not because it was hard to talk now, but because she wasn’t sure who would be listening down stairs. It occurred to her that if Billy were home, she might have to sneak out the window. Maybe she could sneak down then go knock on the door pretending to need to talk to Jake for some reason. If Billy was there. She didn’t want to leave Jake. She felt like one of those needy girls you hear about who just want to cling onto the guy their with, but she couldn’t really help it.
She sat up, holding the blanket around her. She couldn’t stop smiling, even thinking about how they were going to have to hide this as long as they could just so they’d be able to live. “You think Billy’s home?” She tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, though it didn’t do much good, it still fell around her face. She hoped she didn’t look like something that just walked out of a swamp, but if she did, it didn’t look as if the wolf she woke up next to cared what she looked like.
