Lan stood upon the hard stone, his feet against the warm rocks as he looked down upon a deep valley, a river coursed through the center, it's water glistening in the light and he smiled slightly, admiring it's beauty, the trees that surrounded him grew throughout the lower reaches of this mountain range.
Lan leaned back, his legs curling before the straightened, throwing Lan high into the air, sailing gracefully over the valley. His eyes caught every detail, dust motes sailing through the air away from him as he forced his weight through the empty space, birds sailing on thermals above an below him and then two seconds later he hit the ground with a soft thump and smirked.
He flexed absently and then launched off after the scent, he pounced when his prey was almost above him, tearing the mountain lion from the tree he snapped it's spine with an absent minded twist and sunk his fangs into it's throat. He felt the burning being soothed in his throat then the wind changed and he smelt something else, another vampire, he threw aside the carcass and rose slowly, looking around as he crouched defensivly.

It was a nice day, and how could you spend your day better then taking a walk. So that’s what Heidi did. She went for a walk. Carlisle assured her she was safe so that’s what she hoped for. Safety. She walked her way when she smelled an animal. It was not her type of food but she promised to try. Though it wasn’t easy for her. She sighed and looked at the deer. just go [/b] she sighed as it fled. If anyone was here, they would like her a little. She sighed and walked on as the smel of animal blood and vampire got mixed up in her nose. Seriously? A Cullen was after her, spying on her? She was no betrayer, she served the Volturi for more then a thousand years. Heidi growled and walked on. She hated her life, and if she wasn’t sure about it then, she hell was now. A sigh came from the gorgeous woman’s lips and made her rest against a tree for a minute. She didn’t know what to do. She didn’t know if she had to go for the attack or run or just ignore. A new sight from her lips as she walked on, ignorance. Then she saw a man, his golden eyes catching her. Oh dear lord. She saw him , he killed the lion and she was all on her own, and not really a big fighter. And not really dressed for it either. Her short black tight dress pressed against her body as she tried to breathe. He would kill her if she did something so she froze. She tightened her muscles but really just got shocked. I, I , who are you?[/b] she asked a little sheepish. She didn’t know what else to do, her violet eyes tried to study him but she didn’t dare to try. Not at all. Lan frowned at her, slowly moving out of his crouch, he tilted his head watching her for a moment, analyzing how she stood which told him she feared to fight but she would if he attacked and he sighed "I am Lan, who are you?" he growled, he didn't recognize her scent but her appearance rang a bell, he was torn. Part of him said stand your ground, learn more the other said flee an dhe hissed "You are Volturi aren't you? what do you want?"
He settled for watching her warily, his fists clenched as he felt slightly on edge again, she had interrupted his hunting. He had only ever seen the guard from a distance and never caught their scent but he was sure he recognized her, NOW the question in his mind was what the hell was one of the almighty Volturi doing here?

Heidi didn't know what to do or say She just watched him as he got out of his defending position. Wasn't he going to kill her? thank you lord! She looked at him and when he said his name and asked her she nodded. '' I'm Heidi Volturi. '' she said slowly and watched him move but she did nothing. '' I'm not here to fight, I'm on the run. '' she said and looked at him.
He really didn't know? She bit her lip. '' So its more Heidi Garcia. '' she said softly and looked at him. Her violet eyes observed him as she wasn't frozen anymore. He was muscular, not much taller then she was, and he was some kind of traveler, he looked like one. She bit her lower lip and looked at him. What to do now. She could turn around and walk away. Or she could just go on and have a conversation.
She looked at him. '' The Pure ones, they killed almost everyone I knew, my husband and children, our family. I don't now who else is alive of the Volturi, but they're gone.'' she whispered , more to herself then him but he could hear her, she was sure of that fact. She sighed again and looked at him. '' where do you come from? '' she asked nicely. [/size] |

Lan looked at her with a frown when she said the Volturi had fallen from grace. He shook his head and turned away "I have been out of touch with the world, these pure ones? How smart are they?" then he paused and smirked slightly "I Aro dead?" then he sighed.
He then looked at her with a scowl "What are you doing out here anyways? you are meant to be hiding aren't you? running into other vampires isn't the best way to hide ..." He moved closer to her and looked her over properly. He sighed and looked at the sky then "I have been on the run from power for centuries and now one of those I ran from comes and tels me that she is running, oh the irony."

heidi smiled, like she wanted it this way. He asked if the pure ones were smart and she shook her head. '' reckless, which did cost lives, but not smart. They got their leader type of boy, he uses his power on chelsea and aro i believe and well they lost their powers so all the volturi guards had no faith in us. Just because he hit Chelsea. '' she sighed and looked at him.
He asked if Aro died. '' yes he did, he died for his brother, who died , burning alive. I just ran away. '' she sighed and looked down and back at him. He said that being on the run in her condition wouldn't be much helpful as she met him. '' I don't care if you kill me, i do care of what they will do to me, force me to join them. Not a chance. They got Jane.'' she sighed and looked his way.
He was different, and though she was scared , he made her not to. '' This is just not what I wanted, All i asked for was a home, with my husband and kids, and they just burned those poor kids alive. '' she could cry but she didn't. She wasn't that soft. Though it hurts like hell, even hell won't make her this soft.

Lan laughed bitterly "Oh the irony, someone new to run from" then he sighed "Who are you living with now? hiding with?" he tilted his head and crossed his arms "Surely you have found some shelter?" then he began pacing.
He sighed in resignation "These Pure ones, they are not going about dominance like Aro did? they are trying to tear our world apart to their own ends yes? Then I will fight them." he grinned "So what ARE you doing out here in the forest anyways, I never pegged the Volturi as Veggie's so something must of driven you out here?"

Heidi looked at him, she watched him laugh bitterly when she mentioned the new leaders, not something to laugh about. Her eyes watched him, a small frown on her pretty little head. She watched him still. '' I'm living with no one, I used to be with alec but he left, and i am just alone. '' she sighed sadly. Why did she act so sad, she should be serious, but she was alone, and loneliness made you do terrible things.
She looked his way, her violet eyes curious but hostile. '' No, I wander around. '' she told him and looked around the forest. When he mentioned the pure ones she growled a little. '' those are worse then the Volturi! they got a guy who has the power to steal yours. The Volturi kept the vampires silent, at least not letting them act stupid. these guys don't know what they're doing. If its on them, there will be no human left and we have to kill each other to stay alive.'' she sighed.
How she hated the pure ones. Then he asked what she was doing here. '' I wanted to go for a walk in the woods, since i got nothing better to do. '' she said softly. She wanted to go to the pure ones castle and burn it down with everybody inside, not even thinking of becoming their property.

Lan just sighed and shook his head before he made up his mind "Best way to hide, is to move around with someone who has done it for over 100 years. You can join me on one condition, you take up my diet. I may not like humanity but our races worst flaw is leeching off those who destroy our world with their ingenious new methods, so?" then his shoulders slumped, now he was resigned to intergrating with other vampires to destroy the pure ones. There needed to be some authority but no like the Volturi or these Pure ones, not even like the Romanians who needed to die, they had instigated this power race, they had driven Aro to his possessive methods of ruling.
Lan looked at her with an arched eyebrow when she mentioned one of their vampires gifts and he smirked "I got a little gift of my own, his must be a concious decision, if he can't decide for himself he can't use it. When it comes to that day, just get me near him. I'll do the rest." then he sighed softly "I am a wanderer, have been since one of your lot took me to Aro who didn't want me, infact some of your guard tried to kill me to eradicate my gift incase I sided with an enemy of theirs... that was a long time ago now."
Lan looked at her with a half smile half smirk and said softly "Have you ever hunted the veggie way? most of our kind don't even know my name let alone that I am not actually like them. It's pretty easy once you get passed the initial shock of the idea." he offered her his hand "Join me hunting, learn. Then I can help you. There is meant to be a vegetarian coven about here .. the Cullens ain't it? they caused quite the stir amongst the canadian covens ..."

Her violet eyes followed him closely as he moved and started talking. He said she had to travel, move around, and that he would take her. But of course he had his conditions. Which was the vegetarian diet. She was familiar with the Diet and could survive on it. A smile slid on her face as she nodded. She didn't know who this stranger was but he is the perfect stranger to be with.
She looked at him. '' I'm familiar with the diet, and i doesn't surprise me that you follow it, but one thing, my eyes won't be gold and brown, they stay purple. Its a piece of my power. Which i prefer more then crimson. '' she said smiling and looked at him again. Her eyes following his moves. Elegant, though rough. Strong a animal like.
She liked it. Her smile was small but visible. Then he mentioned the cullens. '' yes they are vegetarian, and hostile, I'm still feeling guilty of all they Volturi has done to break that family apart. After what they did to mine I wouldn't forget, and I'm speaking the truth if i say that what happened to you was not Aro. Caius is the big brain, Aro they toy.'' she said softly. It was true. Lan just smirked "I don't like the crimson eyes myself, that was the reason for the vampire and witch hunts in wales in the 1670's and 80's, because they found me. I avoid humanity as much as possible, like us they are obominations." then he looked at her and tilted his head "Well maybe not you, you seem so .. innocent, what made you throw your lot in with those heathens and tyrants?"
When she said it was a diet she was familiar with he nodded "So would you be willing to follow it, if so I suppose we kind of become a coven as far as these pure ones will be concerned, even if a small one. Why is it I always draw our kind in? even with my gift you'd expect me to get some bloody peace! Not that having you along is bad ..." then he sighed "In fact I welcome company such as yours. I do not like being alone and you are the right sort of person for me to travel with, I cannot abide thsoe who try and drive their opinions on me. Or authority. I loath the authorities, hence why I am going to fight these pure ones."
When she mentioned the Cullens he scowled "Well they are the local coven, I suppose we should go and try and address them again. It would be nice if not what I wanted originally to have contacts and allies in the area. They can put aside misgivings if I can. It's not like you are going to cause them any trouble." then he paused and said "No it was Aro who chose to have me killed, the others bar you and I think maybe 5 of the guard were out 'dispensing' justice an dcollecting prizes."

Heidi just listened to him and watched him as she moved with him. He called her innocent, thats sweet. She smiled and couldn't hide a giggle. '' they saved my life. Aro did. you see my father was a mine worker and my mother a prostitute. My father used me to have sex with when my mother wasn't home. Aro killed him for justice and changed me when I was dying because of the rape. '' she said softly.
Her Italian accent was not even visible in her voice but it was there on her words. '' trust me it wasn't Aro. you see he is more civilian and hostile. Caius is the one who decides who can join and who can't. We had a woman, Isadora, terrible woman. Caius's step sister. She can control Aro's thoughts, she was an illegal vampire, and got killed by the pure ones. Aro never decided, she did. '' heidi assured him and sighed.
Heidi looked at him. '' The Cullens are kind people. They offered to help me but i refused, not because of the diet, but because of the fear to stay at one place.'' she said softly and looked at Lan. '' I'm sorry about the guards , probably Felix and his companions who tried to kill you right?'' she sighed. |

Lan frowned an dsighed, he realised perhaps he had more in common with these so called rulers than he liked to think "As much as I hate to admit anything in common with the three I would of done the same as Aro, but I wouldn't of used you for my own ends like he did, him and his brothers." then he looked at her "Don't worry, none of these slim will get past me" he looked her in the eye and used his gift to lull her into a sense of security, he barely knew he but he wasn't happy seeing her in this state already.
Lan frowned "It was just Aro, Felix and Ishmael, Ishmael was some vampire amongst their guard who only survived a month as one of Aro's personal guards, I killed him after he brought me to them. I tore the man who saved me to shreds. The reason I hated your masters so much? because they took my life and tore it apart, I was blending in even as a new born fairly well then their little minion came and destroyed my life with them, he told the people in the vilage that I was impure an dhe was here to cleanse them, then he killed everyone of them, nto even drinking their blood."
He frowned when she said she had refused their help and smirked slightly "Trust me even if we stay with them a while we won't be found. One useful thing, one of them is a walking tarro card pack .. the Alice lass right? well yeah and the mind reader, I'll know if something is going down as soon as they do. Don't be scared. My gift .. hypnotism, only the strongest can resist it and they still tend to end up doing what I want, I can get virtually anything I want, it works best on our kind too, I won't use it against you unless I absolutly have to for our safety, I swear it."

She couldn't believe it. Aro who killed someone, almost killed someone on his own accord. She sighed and looked at him he was different, but he swore to protect her. she only now saw the use for herself. She was only the doll, the food, it was only where she was used for. Nothing special.
She looked down and looked back at him. Then, she did something she never done before out of gratitude, even if she just met him, he was the nicest person she met so far. So she hugged him. Electricity through her body on a good way. She stepped back and looked shocked at her own hands. She didn't know what happened.
She looked at him, her violet eyes shocked. '' I'm so sorry'' she said and didn't know what else to say. The shock wasn't bad not at all, it felt right, better then her husband, but why didn't she feel like this around him, why did she feel like this around Lan. It made no sense and it should though. |

When she hugged him Lan felt the shock and blinked, he looked at her with a soft and friendly frown, confusion flickering through their mind, he wasn't even controlling his own mind, instincts kicked in and he moved after her, pulling her back to him, the shock happening once more as their flesh touched and he looked down at her with his brows furrowed when he realised what he had done.
He sighed and looked at her before he said softly "You know what .. that means? that .. shock, the current because ... I don't think ... we couldn't be .... I don't know what to say ... it explains why I was drawn to you but, you already had a mate didn't you? I've never heard of any of our kind having more than one mate ever ... could we be I mean? I like you but ... oh gods I knew things were going to change ..."
